Exploring Forgotten Island
Lineage Playforum has learned a few things (http://community.playforum.net:8080/bbs/prog/column?action=read&iid=10051004&kid=2085, http://community.playforum.net:8080/bbs/prog/column?action=read&iid=10051004&kid=2087) about Forgotten Island:

  • There are 4 drake spawns. The fastest respawn they have seen is 5 minutes. Drake is much harder than the normal drake, but seems to be slower.
  • In terms of strength: Forgotten Island Werewolf = King Bugbear, Forgotten Island Ramia = 2 Taurverus, Forgotten Island Bugbear = Troll. Forgotten Island Cyclops can hit a -58 AC elf for about 50 HP per hit.
  • The monsters drop amulets, rings, wafers, condensed potions, the sealed armor and weapons, but no adena.
  • 70% of the monsters are big, so katana is a good weapon for this area.
  • For specific drops, Ettin and Owlbear gave new rings (never heard of them before), Drake dropped the Sealed Ancient Short Sword. Ramia dropped Underwater Boots.
  • There appear to be multiple vendor NPCs wandering around. The prices for one of them: Red Potion 80a, Orange Potion 400a, Clear Potion 1000a, Greater Haste Potion 3300a, Haste Potion 440a. However, the prices might vary between vendors as one vendor sold Red Potion for 70a.
  • There are monster zones - if you try to lead a monster away from their zone, they will teleport away.
  • There are Minotaurs on Forgotten Island. A mage tamed two of them - they are level 41, 430 HP, 30 MP.
  • The cost doesn't seem to be worth the experience gain alone.

Hmm, still 10k for a ticket? It's too expensive... most of my hunting trips last 1hour max (in a party). On forgotten island prolly 10mins ;)

So 10k for 10mins of hunting, not counting 10k in pots, polys, hastes etc.

hm...it says that FI Ramias give 2 times the experience of a taurverus, not that they are two times stronger....

also some information mentioned on playforum seems to be left out

also the new ring is one that probably provides resistance or some kind of advantage against demons

Appended: There are actually 2 rings mentioned, an owlbear dropped the one mentioned above, but the other was dropped by an ettin

to elaborate on their functions, they both provide some advantage to demons. the one dropped by the owlbear, by definition of the name, should make a demon-type monster ...give up or maybe run away.... the one dropped by the ettin should, again by definition of the name, make the demon-type monster disappear or maybe die...

ofcourse to apply these definitions in to the context of the game, they probably just give varying resistances or attack advantages against demons, the former being the probable given that most of the new rings give some sort of resistance.

Furthermore, a lvl 48 knight took 50 minutes, instead of 1 hour to get a certain amount of exp, and a lvl 51 knight took 30 minutes, instead of 50 minutes to get a certain amount exp. So there seems to be a definite experience:time advantage. Cost effectiveness is still not determined and playforum is awaiting feedback from more players.

Also! the lvl limit is not 45, as previously stated, but apparently it is 46

Appended:
Drakes are not MUCH stronger, but somewhere between being a little stronger and simply, stronger, according to playforum

On average, they say that monsters are about 3 times stronger than their originals, although some, like ungoliants are about 5 times stronger

This is probably regarding the amount of damage dealt

All this new stuff doesn't make a big difference to me. I still hate NC cause now I can't HP gamble with my con elf without losing lots of MP cause of the no % loss before level 11. Oh well, Lineage II. :)

nc is further more trying to improve party hunts with this event. 2knights 1elf and 1mage can last for ever any were. simply because an elf can use party abilitys mage can use heal pledge on the party and the knights take the damage. I think the island will b a good place for high lvl ppl to party hunt.

knights are not fit to party with any other class...they're too fast and they hog too much of the exp and/or drops

the party system is split evenly btw the members of the party. for each lvl there is a certain amount of exp that u get from each monster. this can b proven by party (hunting) a lvl 30+ person with a lvl 10, the lvl 10 person gets too litle exp, eventhough the mop high lvl.
