Some changes to Lineage Compendium I thought I'd mention:
  1. There has been some confusion about the rules for comments, people getting banned, posts getting deleted, etc. We have made them a little bit more clear. The moderator is BigPope. Any questions you have about the rules can be directed to him in an email at linspatz@lineagecompendium.com. It's no big deal, really, just trying to have some good discussion on the news.
  2. Many people wonder about who we are. We added an about page (last link, all the way at the bottom of the menu). We tried to think of the basic questions people ask and answered them. If you have more, let us know and we'll add to the page. ^^
  3. We added a Top 50 Players in the LC/LinWeb sharing. Pretty self-explanatory. :)
  4. Also added is a Top 20 Pledges. This deserves some explanation. Obviously, not every member of the pledge is present in LinWeb. So, what we do is take the whole pledge, and count everyone who is not sharing as 0 points. We count everyone who is sharing by their rating. Then we take the average. To give bonus to large pledges (and make up for missing people), we multiply the average by the size of the pledge to the 0.8 power. It's a weird formula, but it kind of works. If you have better ideas, I want to hear them. :)
    How do you raise your pledge rating? Add people! Every person that isn't added is being counted as a level 1 newbie, so adding more members from your pledge should help.
  5. Finally, the LINDX. It's like the S&P 500, the Dow Jones Industrial Average, etc. It represents the average ratings of each server. Some cross-server competition. :)

no, the pledge counts not the castle >.<...... giving 2 times points would make a newbie pledge with castle come over a veteran plage like urs seven.

The new features are cool, but kinda misrepresentative of the actual Lineage population since many of us high level players don't advertise our stats, ac, etc. But this is still really cool. = )

uhh, im wondering Amer, how is it possible that I am not in the top 50 players, when there is a guy named MacFrog who is lvl 39, -39 ac, +4 kat, 400 hp, 19 mp, and 45,000 adena, rated like 45th. When I'm lvl 42, +6 rap, +6 rks, -40 ac, 400 hp (im srength), and like 100,000 adena, how am I not rated above him? I don't get it? It doesn't make sense because I could make this guy's head spin in a duel.......

I dunno. maybe something else about your char isnt as good. gain a few levels or get some better ac or a + your sword again and you will go up the ladder. I am sure your char is not as good as you say or it would be higher up then macfrog. and adena really doesnt matter much anymore.

Also, I agree with SevenBlade in that the best pledges own castles. Tidalwave, you said that there are veteran pledges that are better than the ones that own castles? I seriously doubt this because if they "veteran pledges" are so great than why wouldn't they own a castle.........The only counter example of this might be Ghost, who doesn't own a castle as of right now, but is still highly respected.

umm bigpope or amer umm how come my elf ramza1818 hasnt been updated for the last 2 days..he has -44ac now and is lvl 46.77 it still says i ahve 2ac and at lvl 46.74 % think u can look into it please...o and not sure but i cant do teh search for anyones charecter or update dont know whats wrong..think u can help?

Ramza: Go to LinWeb sharing, type in Ramza1818, select Dep server and click Update, that should fix your problems.

LINDX = average rating of all players in the Compendium LinWeb database. As people level up/down, LINDX will change. Also, if high level people are added (rating is higher than LINDX) that server's LINDX will go up. Of course if high level people are deleted, that server's LINDX will go down.

It's for that added sense of Ken vs. Dep vs. Test competition.

Hi Compendium staff,
I was wondering if you could put in check boxes so you could see how you rate against other characters with the same stats as you, (well excluding enchants and powergloves would make it hard). But for example I want to see all the other mages that are 18 18 wiz and con and see how I am going against them? o.O
I donno the complexity of something like this but just something that would be cool. What you guys have now is great ^.^ I keep checking how I'm going all the time -_-

BTW The search option doesn't seem to work or I'm doing something wrong.

Ack guys why did you take the top 5/10 thing off the bottom of the best of lin page ~_~ I liked being one of the top mages in Dep T_T And if its not there the top 50 players by server doesn't really make sence.

Oh, the reason I asked is InfinityCircle has several members that are sharing, and are in your rankings as it is...seems strange that we're not there...lol
