More Korean World Cup events

As part of the continuing celebrations for Korea's success in the World Cup, NC-Korea is having a few events on the Korean servers.

If the Koreans win a game, the GMs on every server will summon monsters for players to kill.

Poppers are being distributed to all players to be used if Korea scores a goal.

If you create a prince who's name is a variation of the name of the coach (such as ZHiddinkZ or XHiddinkX, etc), there is a level up contest. If you are the highest level prince with that kind of name on your server (and remember, there are more than 30 servers) by the end of the World Cup (June 28th), NC - Korea will reward you with a Ring of Teleport Control *and* Ring of Polymorph Control.

Why can't NC-US get a little creative and do something along these lines as well? And if you want to argue that football (soccer) isn't a big enough deal here in the US, then how about doing same with American football, or basketball, or baseball, or hockey?

C'mon NC-US! Show a little team spirit for once, will ya? What a bunch of sad sacks they must be down there. I picture them moping around all day, watching "Slackers" over and over and sighing into their double lattes constantly.

Seriously though, the World Cup comes around only once every 4 years. This is an excellent opportunity for NC-Austin in that this is the best the US team has ever done, by far, and Lineage players could use a good event. I think it's great to see NC-Korea hosting this event, it encourages national support of their soccer team, and at the same time encourages players to play Lineage, which in my mind is the bottom line objective of any event. I am just curious to know why NC Austin is not availing itself of this opportunity, sems to me that NC-Austin are the ones that are missing out.

(compltely off subject BUT...) was anyone on this morning to see Monitor03 completely shut down the Global Chat OMG LOL it was the funniest thing ever...a lot of ppl were gettin rowdy and then **** tells us to change the subject hehe, noone does and hes like THATS IT! and shuts it down i was crying laughing i didnt know he could do that ^^

oh yea...lv 50 prince/ss will probably be the highest...unless they madly insane and make lv 52+ o.O...do they count "korean test server" also?..

Hiddink...hmmm...make tons of similar names and a race to the highest lv u can get in under a month on that....easy for rich ppl to have the gear to get it there...not that good for poor players there that can get it up to 15 or 25 or 40 - -"..

Soccer is awesome! The fact is that NC Korea cares a lot more about their customers than the idiots down in Texas. We won't get another event for a while, and when we do it will SUCK!

Hehehe, well, even earlier than that.. we were 'almost' cussing on Global and the Monitor gave us all a warning. So we kept it up and someone started in on Monty Python stupidity and the Monitor actually joked along with us for quite a while! Never seen a monitor with a sense of humor on. I think it was Monitor03.

funny hiddink was old coach of Holland football team(that was seen as one of the best teams in the world) and know with a diferent coacher they didn't even got in to the World champion ship >.<

hmmmm, coming to think to it.... it must be a GREAT time to pk princes in korean servers, imagine all thoose high level chars, lending their equipment to newbie prince chars to lvl up faster, hmmmm, delicious :).

Not that i'm into pk anyway... nor that i play in korean servers though.

Btw, calling NC idiots would't make anything good to their disposition to hear our complaints ;). Maybe something like: I'd be very glad if the event rate in us servers would be as high as in the korean servers, it would make me renew my account more easily after the exp update affair.

(but with real english, not my lame one, heheheh)

NC-Austin does need to pick it up a notch though... a lot of ppl are getting bored with game already... and a lot of ppl are no longer playing, especially those who joined during MAC beta, who chose NOT to renew their accounts....

I've been meaning to mention this when Amer first posted about the World Cup. Check out Nikefootball.com for a *GREAT* ad campaign which, oddly, doesn't seem to have been shown here in the US (At least not here on the West Coast). Terry Gilliam directed the commercial and Eric Cantona (!) provides impresario/color commentary duties with great panache.

If you go there, check out the awesome team, Funk Seoul Brothers, with KH Seol and Ronaldinho most notably. Brilliant footwork!

usa gms are 100% STUPID and it takes them monthes to make a stupid spring faire event with lame fireworks, and not dising the dragon duels cuz that was cool but they only did it because we were all spamming them to do it on chat and then they did it, and thats lame we want an event we can ALL participate in

0.o i downloaded everyone of the videos in Nikefootball.com like 2 weeks ago and still amazed in seeing what they do. Those guys got some nice names -
The Funk Seoul Brothers, The One Touchables. And on another subject we do need better events, out of all the events i ever see/been to the best one on US servers was "The Chaos Event" i think it was called during beta where all the bosses and kinda evil monsters where at the Choatic Temple. That was like a year ago NC!!!!!!

In NCI's defense, a World Cup related event in Korea makes much more sense than it would in the US. The World Cup is currently held IN Korea (and Japan), and at the moment millions of people go crazy about soccer games there every day.
If NCI had stated two weeks ago they'd spawn monsters every time the US team won a game, I'd have laughed really hard, since the US team went into the World Cup with not so high expectations, to say the least, being considered one of the weakest teams participating, and having lost all of their 3 matches in the previous World Cup, 4 years ago. In all fairness, the US is doing much better than expected though, with a win and a draw and a fair chance of a spot in the next round (they need a draw in their next game).
In that sense, Korea is in the same boat as the US though, doing better than expected. Nevertheless I don't see them winning many more matches (I'd bet on none even), so the monster spawning on the Korean servers will remain limited. Still a very commendable initiative by NCKorea though. Living in a country that (co-)hosted the European Cup 2 years ago, I can imagine it's totally in the spirit of the soccer madness there right now. A World Cup related event on the US servers would just be silly, since most Americans care nor know about soccer. Although perhaps that would be a good way to get some of them interested in it :)
In that sense, perhaps NCI should spawn us some monsters every time Lance Armstrong wins a race in the Tour de France next month. (for those who are wondering: that's cycling ;)

Flu: I agree. Not only did Lance Armstrong win the last 3 Tours de France (That's 90 hours of cycling for the uninformed) but this is after he overcame testicular cancer that had spread to his lungs and brain. He is an American hero.

I think these "gifts" aren't cheerful as they were ment to be since NCI
has many ugly sides , the non-stopable lags and the non-stopable lag's deaths,
the unjustified policy of "not returning items" to hacked peoples or for peoples who were scammed by others..... as far as i know NCi has a long way
to cheer me (and others) with such events.

this is not a justifiable reason for NC-Austin to never give us events - but it is a good idea...

Has everyone been to Korean server? Everywhere is camped all the time... Unless your pledge is all 50+ - good drops are hardly possible...

Imagine regular newbie lvl 25-40 trying to run around getting a rotc?

No one at lvl 40+ is going to get ROTC from succ queen or whatever drops em because those mops are camped 24/7 FOREVER by ppl lvl 49+ with impossible items already... It's impossible for good drops and these events that NC Korea hosts gives lower lvl ppl chance at items and such...

What I think is crappy - is that we never even get a chance at events

so many people have great ideas for events - events shouldn't BE like GM dropping DS all over or Goblins dropping Bzels... events should be good and constructive like

-For 2 days - Antharas will be available in Elven Forrest - he will also be enchanted by GM every 15 minutes! However - if killed - any surviving fighters will be granted super rare prize [XXXXXXXXXXX]
or

Different Dungeons for 24 hours will spawn a baby Elemental Dragon with much of the same moves as their parents but much weaker - drops being of course - much lesser than their parents... - could be DV 6f for baby Anth Heine 4f normal (not faf cave) for Faf baby - FV Ifrit spawn for Baby Valakas....(35+)

Maybe put some Increase overall Orc spawn everywhere and for that time - increase rare orcish drops...(newbie events 25+)

Werewolfs and Lycanthropes get a head master at the MLC Entrance - Wolfman or something lvl 25 mop - drop rarely katana or bkatana... but he always has 4 lycanthrope/ww groups with him

maybe dwarven boss ... in DWARF AREA what the hell is that? no no dwarfs with the dwarf land update? jeez PATHETIC NC

spawn a couple of Muryans in 6f MLC spider spot

Heine update was good - event wise it was "ok" with Elindare and all but what happened to it? what about newbie boss Kurtz? and the BKS? JEEZ NC JUST doesn't do anything but stupid events like

I could have watched on TV - transformers dragons or something fighting each other event - pathetic

Drop event sucked too - I mean whats the fun in increased drops? I go to test server for that! Sure greedy disagree - but funwise - it just ruins the game to have drop events all the time

Sure its good - u get rare items and good drops... Buuuuutttt.... once its gone - its like drugs - yes awesome when there - but then when not - depressing - u realize how SLOW it really is - even more so than before...

Spawning super hard bosses like Anth, Faf, Val in easy to reach places like Giran or WL is good idea too because everyone joins in in those types of battles...

but NC dont care abotu US NC -Austin = selfish XXX@$@#&%#*^ #&*%^&^ #%&*#^%&^ and #%&#*#%#*^)&*^#*&%!
