Forgotten Island

Their is a post about the Forgotten Island, A new high level hunting area, on the official Korean site. Alpha2002 was nice enough to translate some of it and post it in IRC. h
Update details.:
1. Level 46 or higher player can purchase a boat ticket at the Heine's wharf for 10,000 adena. This boat will go to a small island locate midway to Forgotten Island. This island has portal that will lead you to the Forgotten Island.
2. In Forgotten Island, it is prohibited to use random teleport, teleport, bookmark, scroll of return home, or resurrection.
3. In Forgotten Island, all areas except for starting location will be COMBAT ZONE.
4. All monsters on Forgotten Island are about 15 levels higher than the monster in main land. The do not drop adena. They do drop condensed potions and other hunting supplies as well as sealed armor and weapons.
5. If you die or restart in Forgotten Island, you will be start at the island shore. You can only escape island through the NPC locate in northwest of island or teleporter which will randomly spawn in the house located at middle of the island.
6. There is a merchant NPC, northwest of the island and will sell limited items for double the price. Also a merchant NPC will randomly spawn.
7. Forgotten Island's weapon and armor are sealed. You can unseal them by bringing them with specific item to NPC who will unseal.
8. And other bug fixes.

I belive the idea of this place is you get a lot more exp cus the monsters are 15 levels higher but arnt any stronger. o.0 maybe they are stronger. I was i was in the irc room when he was their so i could have asked :(

Wow... That actually does seem pretty sweet.

The no TP or tele thing kinda bothers me a bit, but hey it seems like fun.

Although why do I have a feeling that they will drop the same as their regular counterparts?

I can just see it now:

sounds like a glorified singing island. instead of a small town and a dinky dungeon with "weak ghasts" it will be a small town and a dinky dungeon with "fierce ghasts" - wonder if this is what we get for exp nerf.

If the area is a combat zone that means if you do get pked you dont lose exp -.- I dont like that part. But i think this will be a pre-ep 12 update, like SI and HV was. But here in the US, the preupdate didnt come til the next episode came, so maybe not.

there are probably drakes, ifrits, pheonixs camping at the entrance
island full of death knights(some new mops like Nightmare,Shiva,Inxion hehe) *dr00ls*
i'll be the first one to die ;P
who knows.. maybe they're gonna have a underground cave that leads to "Hell"
and even HARDER mops will be down there...
but by the time we have the COOL updates Lineage 2 will be out :P
ppl will throw away their 2d and bring in the 3d :)
also, who knows.... like i play warcraft 3 and i a headache and i often go back n play starcraft lol...

HAHA..... I went to use babelfish on the korean text and here's what I got:

My english is very limited but here is my translation word by word.

As of Aug 2nd, Korean Test Server has updated [Forgotten Island] to make true high level character.

Here are the details on [Forgotten Island]

What do you mean by sealed?

Anyway this is cool - Finally high lvl regular mops for higher lvl players.

Tho' someone did put this idea (a similar one, but same boat -> island thing, with powerful mops on it) on the suggestions boards a while back. Tho' he made the whole island for pk'ers too - Which would have been more enteraining

I'm curious on what sealed weapon and armour lie within...

I'm up for the challenge if it ever reaches live servers......^_^

would be a cool idea from what someone mentioned before....
the island will be the entrance to hell.....heheh
alot mops r like 30 lvl higher than the usual....
that would be crazy....

Man, this place would be sweet. They'll proally be alot harder tho, and drop like the normal mops. That sux that pots are 2X as expensive. -.-

...warning...
forgotten island pk frenzy:
1) combat zone, you wont get pink, get chaotic, or drop items (if killed by players)
2) monsters 15 lv higher, ppl busy killing monsters
3) hit player when player's outnumbered and dying by the monsters
4) player died, drop items "due to monsters", drop xp
5) pk comes by, pick up item, laugh at that player
6) repeat steps 3-5 til you get bored or can get out of the island

This sounds mainly like a pledge hunting or party hunting place. Not a place to hunt alone. I really like the idea. I was wondering when they would use that wharf anyway, maybe it will bring more business to Heine.

Sealed items probably mean they drop in a "treasure box" type thing. You find a npc that will open the armor/weapon so you can actually use it. I don't know.

Combat zone might mean siege-zone possibly.

To me, it sounds like that sealed weapon/armor are somewhat magically sealed so you can't arm or wear them until you broke the seal. It also mentions that there will be a NPC who can unseal these weapon/armor if you bring specific item to them. (Like Clay Quest maybe???)

That sealed armor/weapon things probably means that, the weapons you get from monsters on that island cant leave the island untill you go to that special NPC. So probably the mops there will drop better BUT you have to find that NPC or else your doomed. Let's say your running around with 3 2hs, 2 banded mails = your overweight. You gotta run from mops to find NPC... o.0

Another way for Knights to lvl faster than all other class, With AC nerf in place those mops will hit hard as hell to all class but knights, and will make it unhuntable for alot of classes.

More info on Forgotten Island...!!

Daphne incountered drake 1:1. He spent 50 orange pots and got ONE condensed orange from drake. :(

Orange Pot from NPC is 400 adena. Ghaste pot is 3300.

With the current drop rates, please tell me how you are able to get money there...

Paying loads of money to get there, not beein able to get out there when you are in trouble...

What advance is this location?

I can merely surfive solo as a lvl 48 -55++ +6++ Tsu with oranges in fv...

I loose more cash since the Orem update, i can only make 5k a hunt with red potions... And i didnt even counted the scrolls, potions like braves in!
