Silver/Oriharukon/Mithril undead bonus

For those of you who haven't read the message boards, Melantus looked in the code, and gave us the following fact about the undead bonus that everyone guesses about:

Correction to some info I posted about the oriharukon. I originally gave a damage bonus of 2d10, but it is actually 1d20. On average, they come out the same but it is slightly diferent. :) In any case, here is the info about it all:

Silver/oriharukon/mithril are all treated the same for the bonus damage. And this is a bonus in addition to the regular weapon damage, so a +0 rapier (11/6) versus a zombie will do 1-11 + 1-20, or 2-31 damage (plus any other bonuses).

What exactly is the 2d10 1d20? I've been playing for months, and have never understood the bonus +'s.

It's Dungeons & Dragons notation. 2d10 means you use 2 10-sided dice. 1d20 means you use 1 20-sided die. So, 2d10 means it can randomly be any number between 2 and 20, and 1d20 means it can randomly be any number between 1 and 20.

In the case of the extra damage with sword enchants, it's logical to assume 1d20+enchant bonus for each hit. So a +6 weapon would do between 7 and 26 points of damage per hit.

so yes rap is still best
as for a weap enchant gives +2 dun believe me then test it its ez
just enchant it then id it it should look like this for +6rap
11+6[+2]small 6+6[+2] large

for the record +doesnt increase undead bonus 1-11+0+1-20= 2-31 for +0rap
1-11+6+1-20=8-37 for +6 rap
if its blessed it does 1-2 dmg more

Gigi: +6rap does +1dmg more to everything than a +6rap. The enchants are always the same too - +0rap does 1-11, +6rap does 1-11 +6. Rather than 7-17....

Blaatje - Where'd you get those bonus's from? Didn't mel say all the mith/ori/silver do have the same bonus's

With the yumi I think the bonus's are too do with the arrows. Silver arrows having a undead dmg bonus. Tho' the yumi still has it's +3dmg bonus... so mebe it has a ori based undead dmg bonus too. *shrugs* dunno :/

Blaatje - that is incorrect. Ori, Silver and Mith all have same bonus. 1-20. So sayeth Melantus. If it was different in the past, that's possible. But as of today, it is 1-20 for all three.

Lineage has always borrowed all of its rules, and even many of its Items/Monsters from D&D. But Melantus, why can't a Princess use a Rapier if it's so lightweight? And could you look at the code again and see if Blessed Items do something? (If anything)

"Me" have characters on all servers. "Me" has characters on Ken server but i dont play there anymore. "Me" Play on Dep server, Recently "Me" started up on Test server. "Me" told you what you wanted to hear, now come find "Me". "Me" thinks you will have a hard time looking for mp3... O___o

Strength would figure into that as...

strength up to 16 does 1-8 random dmg I think, and every 2 points over that does 1 fixed dmg...each point over 16 does .5 fixed dmg but half points aren't able to be figured. ;p

At least that's how I read it.

I got a question thats a little of topic, but quite interesting for many ppl i think. The information on the Bec de Corbin used to say that it hits any target always, no matter what ac it has. Is that still so? If so it's the perfect weapon to kill dragons, in my opinion.

well what i said was correct mith/silver doesnt have same undead bonus as ori
but if it is changed now i then dunno
tsu is made of ori but according to info its metal so no bonus
about the str confusion str DOES matter
but only after 16 and for each 1 extra you do 0.5dmg more
like this say you wield a +6rap its enchanted and you hit a friend with it you have 20 str thats 4 more str as 16 you do 2 dmg more
looks like this 1-11+6[+2] +2(for str)= 11-21
str dmg and enchants on weaps are set dmg you always do that amount of dmg minimum

There will be Elf only Spells coming in Episode 11. I don't know if they're those spells in particular, but I've heard a lot of things. I've also read that Episode 11 will come with a graphical revamp, which I think would be very nice, and is much needed if Lineage is gonna make it big here. I think they're supposed to Update the Characters models too. Does anyone know if ALL the music is in the game right now, or just some? Because I thought there was gonna be about 40 in total but it seems that there's only 20 something right now.

Mana Pots = Never. Unbalancing. Don't say it wouldn't be, because there are plenty of reasons why it would.

Str Bonus. Every point after 18 Str is an added point into damage. Not a random point, a "fixed" point. So if you have 20 Str you do automatically, 2 more damage. Then for each point under 18 I believe it is -1 damage off of the weapon you are using. And if you have 18 Str exactly, you are able to do the damage the weapon lists itself as with no bonuses or disadvantages.

Dex Bonus [Same as Str, but Elves.] Every point after 18 Dex for Elves, increases their accuracy and adds one point to their damage. I have not heard about a disadvantage though, if they have under 18 Dex, but I believe their accuracy would go down accordingly.

N-Kat = 10/12, +1 to hit, Safely n-daied to +6.
B-Kat = 10/12, +1 to hit, More damage to demon-type monsters [.5-1.5 damage], More damage to undead-type monsters [.5-1 damage], Less chance of being dropped, Safely n-daied to +6 with better probability of going +7 with n-dai or b-dai.

I have gotten a lot of this information from beta days, but some of it may be false, as fair as I can tell, I think most of it is true. I don't really care if you argue it or not, cause I just don't feel like wasting time replying. Anyways, hope this helps, even though it probably will receive around 5-10 flame posts.

P.S. = A mage would not heal a person since they have 8 or so Str. Simply they would do a lot less damage and roll for the lower portion of their weapon. Like rolling 1-3s on a 1-8 weapon.

I tested bkat and kat on test, on players. +0Bkat did the same damage as a +2nkat. (20str vs. 20str) We thought that +0bkat was +1nkat but the nkat did little dmg and so we dai'd the +1nkat and it did the around the same dmg.
If you believe me, ok. if you dont, then thats ur problem (deal with it yourself)
And i think all that str talk is bogus ~.~ i dont think any of you are right.

O M G... ZEXMAIX YOU SCAMMER!!! For those of you who dont know, Zex offered an event on Ken server with the claim that he was quitting. The event went kind of like this: He gives keys to **TOWN*** guards and tells us we have to kill them to receive the keys which can them be traded to items. So we all get together in an attempt to kill these guards... they hit **VERY** hard if anyone hasn't noticed. Anyways, after 23% loss, 300 oranges, and 30 greens gone on my part I had obtained 2 keys. The winners (there were 4 of us) were then told to enter his room. We actually believed him ... stupid us. He tells us we can trade 1 key to 1 item. Selections of: +8 ECM, +5 PG, +5 T Shirt, +7 Elven Shield, +5 Iron Boots/Gloves... and some other stuff. Then he stalls, tells us GM is going to ban him for doing this because killing guards is grief play and he dissapears. Coming back on a different character to say he could not get us the items because his knight was "BANNED". I dont know any ban where only ONE character is banned... Then he logs off... Gone... Monitor was on at the time and I had a chance to talk to him, he understood what had happened because he had read the things said on global. He stated that he did not ban Zex, and that the user had logged off on his own will and that his disconnection to the server had nothing to do with NCI. I dont know if any of you are going to care about this, but seeing people like this in the game really pisses me off. Zex, sorry u had to be such a fruit... something happen as a child...? I dont know... maybe you just needed a hug but you really screwed us over more than you think. More than ever will people **never** trust another person in lineage.

I always wondered - What does dex do? It doesn't add dmg to bows - That's based on STR still. And even with the dex spell my dex elf (with boe, no x-bow tho) doesn't have 100% hit accuracy. Is this because I lag?

back to the str damage bonus,
at 12 str you do the damage set on sword, so no bounus(had 12 str prince did 10 damage on average with +0 kat (under 12 str i have no clue what happens))

after 12str its +.5 damage (not sure if its fixed or not) per str point till 18str

and every str point after 18 is +1 fixed damage
i'm almost posative this is right, but still might be some glitches
