HK news

HKLineage reports that HK servers have received a bunch of updates as well as some things specific to Chinese New Year (Feb. 12) and Valentines day (Feb. 14).

For Chinese New Years, HK servers got fireworks for use in celebration. They may even explode!

Also, for Chinese New Year, a "Chinese Red Pocket" which is a little envelope that you can put money in and give to people.

And for Valentines day, there are little Valentines notes, similar to the Christmas notes (that never made it to US servers).

Now, the following updates may actually make it to our server. We reported earlier that you could turn off Elf night vision and Elf teleport with the Korean Test server update from a few weeks back. Now they added an "English Only" option which may filter out all languages that are not english.

Also, it seems that moving the mouse over the time bar in the interface will start to tell us what time it is in-game.

im sooo confused bro.. seems your raw exp chart differs from the warcry exp chart... witch one to use ?!?!??! could you check into it for me bro... im now lvl 49 been some time and it seems your monster kill numbers for next lvl witch i divide by 100 so i can see how many of each to kill for 1% isnt accurate...

Once again, the other servers have managed to out-do us. But, I do keep my hopes up--I'm just waiting for them to BANG-BANG-BANG us with some mad' updates. That or they will declare bankruptcy because they are paying Richard Garriott so much money for his "ideas." --;

I'm guessing different shades of detect, and perhaps even detect casted multiple times for some of those big ones. The balls might be something you put on the ground, and in five seconds it explodes like a Black Elder attack :).

you know i'm starting to see a trend happening with this game. if you look back to christmas up to now how many event's did the Korean server get? now how many event's did we get in that time? anyone else see it yet. and another thing why in the hell are there Koreans on the us server? don't they have there own server? and another thing what's the deal with all the lag lately. is that our event from the gm? nothin but lag event. i like it sound great to me. bah gm needs to get of his butt and do something on the us server besides ban ppl for stupid stuff. well i'm done complaining now. NEXT!

Gamemasters have no control over events. Its other people. With the amount of the favoritism, and rampant "Twinkie Defenses" going on at US team, Lineage US is going to go the way of K-Mart. *shrugs* Its time to jump ship , when some fansites can get away with BS that gets others banned , its time to buy into another company.
Personally I have no faith what so ever in the US servers going anywhere. If you read some of the books , coming at in Best Buy, EB , Software Etc. (among other places.) , Lord British has "Lineage with over a xxxxxx," like some kind of has been vampire , feeding off of Lineage's success. But whenever , anyone asks him about Lineage's future... our future our direction, they cough up a lung and that "other project".
My guess is that Lineage update for 11 , is going to be 3d terrain and 3d "rendered" houses , and backgrounds. The updates to characters with be 2d for the time being (and no they aren't 3d , they are some of the finest 2d art on PCs right now). Of course we won't get to see any of these changes til the end of the year, 99% of the Korean Pcs won't be able to run the new Lineage stuff (Most of the Cafes might update). Which it doesn't matter anyhow , there is no way to complete with game Cafes.
My father returned from South America , which has pcs and stuff about as advance as Korea , the game they played down was on 24/7 , different people switch off, its cost roughly 50 cents per hour to own an account. You can't complete against that , most players are struggling to keep up even with caps.
Most of this is slowly leading to what NC has ok for some , and banned others for on the other hand. *shrugs* The only way to survive is account sharing , which is leading to some interesting chat sessions, Ebay ads , and other stuff.
Personally , I don't see any improvement from NCsoft , every step forward , takes to steps back. I read something about 40 mp cap to prevent endless mana, got news for them, its only hurting the good players. There are alot of players who found and using loopholes in the rules as we speak.
Frankly I don't care anymore. Amer is the only person I see attempting to make a difference in Lineage.

We don't get events, we get Lord British. Don't you read the adds for Lineage in the game mags?? Lord British is there leading sieges on castles!! The other servers don't have L.B. so they just get small events, poor guys......

I'm just glad we'll have the english only feature. The US servers should not be able to be accessed by foreign clients anyway. They have made it so you can't use any other languages on the US client, and that should be the only one available for the server, and the same for all the rest. I'm by no means a racist, but it surely doesn't add to my enjoyment of the game to have people speaking korean/chinese that I can't understand, nor would it in other areas and so on. Been waiting a long time for that one.

And, well. The US market has to get big enough before they can put the time and money into making it fun. Yet it has to be fun before the market will get big enough. This very commonly happens when a company already has an established market in one area and moves...it's not like when they started up, and put a lot into it, it's just something of an afterthought. If we get a good amount of new users after the next update I expect it to look up somewhat. But who knows. It doesn't really matter that much. Lineage is lineage regardless of "distractions".

What do you mean Shanea, LB only led ONE seige on a castle, and that wasn't much... I am getting kind of frusturated, I don't mind that other countries play, that adds diversity and is nice, but I hate having my chat box filled with languages that I can't understand. I also don't like that we don't have any cool events. That's what they need to do to increase the number of people.

Do you all remember how many ppl were on during the increased drop event? It was almost 1000 ppl on Ken...INCREDIBLE!!!

Yesterday they had like a full scale d/c...people died, lost exp and items, very nice event to keep us running to get our ac and exp back...

I was being sarcastic about L.B., I would MUCH rather have the events the other servers have than the over-rated, over-hyped L.B.
btw the adds lead you to believe that L.B. is constantly leading sieges and an active part of lineage. False advertising??? Didn't AOL get into trouble over that type of thing????

Hk events: Fox, NewYear invasion, mp pot, Xmas tree, Halloween dress up(we don't even celebrate it there),Lai See (red pockets, or basically x-tra money), X'mas gift.....

US event:Test server drops, My hubby sieging Heine.

I guess only consolation we have was a free month for everyone just b4 relaunch.But honestly lineage players who's been here for so long would rather have events.....

sigh i look at all these arguments and well some of them are good and some of them are jsut a buch ofcompalintes that we dont get these events..One of my best friends who i got hooked on lineage made an obvious note about that last big event we ahd with the all teh items and money increasing..u guys saythat NC does not really give us what we want and all we get is lag..yes i lag alot on broadband but i noticed when we had over 1000+people on the dep server i wasnt lagging at all jsut a note..and the reason for that event was NC in a way repaying us for those server crashes and people losing items (hint hint) so please when u guys compalin do not blame nc all the time they do help when they can and if you noticed from a while back nc reported that they may be making a deal with some high speedinternet compans for us high speed users..so they are working on the lag issue. so i am done for now all of you guys have fun with lineage and jsut be happy we got it with lag or no lag.

My account expired the other day and I dont know if I will even pay for another month, I cant decide. But its depressing to play Lineage when all other MMORPG's seem so much more supported. Ragnarok online(Beta) looks better than Lineage, has about the same game world and amount of weapons/items/skills/spells, more players and its FREE. The reason I posted this is because of people saying to forgive NC or give them a break. We PAY them money for them to give us a LAGGY server with disconnects(Ive never been so furious as the couple of times the server went nuts and I got killed while fighting) and no events and even in a recent interview I think one of the team members said how its "growing slowly." Its barely growing at all, I would imagine its probably SHRINKING. I just wish NC would lighten up, its like they want Lineage to be real serious and have this in-game economy and stuff, when they should should just be making it fun. ggpo, thx. No hate please, I really hate to be a whiner about all this stuff. I just needed to vent.

Ya know, sounds like the server now is like how it was back when the "US server" was in Korea. That's when i played. Only even i remember from over a year was christmas, when we got those stocking things that turned into potions or scrolls. I got like 15 orange potions from that event....heh....some people got Dais and mp pots, not most poeple though. Anyways, lag was pretty bad back then, you NEVER saw an admin. I think sometimes Lintech came on, i still don't know if he actually was an admin. I was thinking about starting Lineage again, but i dunno now. It seems like all your updates will be coming in the next week or 2. I think NC is still getting organized and trying to figure things out. It'll come in time.

well, they cant let you say whatever they want. If you were the controller of a game, you wouldn't let everyone walk all over you....permanent ban for saying that is harsh, but if i was an admin, i'd do like a 12 hour ban if someone said that. what do you need to say "GM WEARS PANTIES~~~~!" for anyways? they should ban whoever said that for being rude and dumb as a brick.
