A First Glance at Turtle Island |
Lands of Aden players who are level 30 and under now have a new, "safer" playground. Turtle Island can be accessed by visiting Pandora (on Talking Island) to purchase a Return to Turtle Island Scroll.
Upon using the scroll, a player may be momentarily disoriented, for Turtle Island looks very much like Talking Island. "Did it work?" Ah yes, there is nothing but a bare patch of grass where normally stands the storage dwarf. In fact, there are no shopkeepers of any kind in Turtle Town.
Upon exiting town, one will find even more differences between Turtle Island and Talking Island. Turtle Island is thriving with a slightly different variety of mops. On a stroll around the beach, I came across plentiful Werewolves, Goblins, Orc Fighters, Wizards and a few Scouts (ouch), Alligators, Imps and Imp Elders, Eidons, Skeletons, Stone Golems, Dobermans, Turtles, Crabmen, Floating Eyes, Bears, Gnolls and more. I also heard whispered rumors of Crustaceans which spawn on the beach, though I did not have opportunity to see one.
Other than players and mops, the island town and beaches are well patrolled by Guards and Rangers, though there is little need. Turtle Island is strictly a non-pk zone. As i wandered the shoreline counterclockwise, I did come across a well-guarded combat zone. The usual dungeon areas of Talking Island are nothing but solid cliffs on Turtle Island however.
Topographically (I could be wrong at first glance) I do believe Turtle Island is the same as Talking Island. Slightly northwest of the empty dock and empty Pandora beach area (there is no Pandora on Turtle Island) is a tiny wl surrounded with mature green trees. I don't remember if greenery such as this is identical on Talking Island, but after another pass or two to both islands we'll be able to say for sure.
We'll post more information as our reporters further explore Aden's newest land.
