Weddings

Jude1004.com has posted a report (http://lineage.jude1004.com/news/index.asp?pg=/news/view.asp&cts_id=5021) on some preliminary information on the new marriage system, currently in Korean test.

No details on the hunting bonus is mentioned in this article, however, there are some new parts that we didn't know about.

Rings Marriage requires the purchase of rings for each of the people getting married. You can buy a Sapphire Ring for 140k or a Diamond Ring for 1.4M. In addition to being required for marriage, the rings provide the additional benefit of allowing you to teleport to your mate. The Sapphire Ring holds a single teleport charge, while the Diamond Ring holds 5. To recharge the ring, their is a nominal fee of 1000 adena at the Aden Church.

Divorce

There will be both a marriage and divorce command, however the divorce command will cause the person who uses their command to lose the ring. It is unclear of the person they are divorcing from loses their ring as well.

jap server had those rings as gifts from a few st. valentine's day back

but those has unlimited charges.

this would b useful even if they dun hunt together.

1 teles the other back to mainland from FI, saves ppl from death.

also would cool if a prince/ss got married.
tele to that place by the mate, the use call clan and tele ppl there.

It'll probably work like the call clan spell and only work in certain situations, but it would be cool to get teleported off FI at any time. That was the first thing we tried with the call clan spell... then we tried to call people to FI.

315 charges

1,400,000 - 140,000 = 1,260,000 difference
1k for 5 charges = 200a each tele / 1k for 1 charge = 1k per tele
(a savings of 800a per tele)
1,260,000 adena divided by the 800a savings = 1,575 tele's
1,575 teles divided by 5 per charge = 315 charges of the diamond ring

is my math right?
correct me if i'm wrong.

The bonus for battle better be sweet for me to commit to a lady in this game. Especially for 2.8m. I mean c'mon - how much does it cost to get married in Aden? Since when has a wedding ever been cheaper than the ring? Also, and this is most important, why do the guys have to sport, essentially, an engagement ring? I want a solid band like any other married man. A diamond ring for marriage on a guy? That is kinda lame. Losing a slot for a kewl btel is a bit to consider as well.

There'd better be some serious stats buffs in addition to this ring...'cause you'll need to hunt *A LOT* to make it more worthwhile than bteles:

1.4mil ring + 560 recharges @ 1k each (5 teles per charge) = 1.96 mil
2,800 bteles @ 700a each = 1.96 mil

So, you'll need to use the ring teleport 2,800 times before it's more cost-efficient than bteles. Wow. (hope my math is right)

Saphire ring is good enough for me, i am not planning on use it THAT much

Regarding #2, I am all but sure they would not allow you to use the rings to teleport either to or from FI. That's the whole point of FI...once you are there, you are there. If they allow this marriage system to change that, it would ruin FI, in my opinion.

The difference between this and btel is that you don't need a bookmark. You can be ANYWHERE (well, if I'm guessing right, anywhere bookmarkable).

Too few bookmark slots? Split them up between you and your spouse: now you have double the locations: spouse has 1/2, you have 1/2. When you need to get somewhere, the person w/ the bookmark goes to the spot, then the other tele's to them.

I'd like to see this ring allow users to call each other to spots that aren't normally bookmarkable. Need to camp a boss? No problem. Need pots on DVC6? Not an issue. Want to join your spouse in ToI? Go right ahead. That doesn't seem too much to ask for, given it only works w/ couples.

Oh...and this was brought up: what about an NPC that morphs you into tux and dress for the ceremony!?!? ^_^

maybe they should make it act like a quest item, you cant drop it. but its not "equipped" on a slot. this way u can still wear your 2 rings, and just doubleclick the wedding ring to tele to spouse :)

they should let the loved ones have sex
then have a child

teach your child how to cast heal spells and to carry your pots/equipment while u hunt
if someone pks your child, the parents attack is increased by 20 on the person who killed their child until they r killed

then u have sex again to make another child

the process repeats

now that would be fun....^_^
anyhow
that diamond ring is damn expensive......
5 charges.....what a rip off.....unless u can tele anywhere where your loved one is....@_@

HeY,

The ring I think is kind of weird. I mean if you have to keep it worn, that would suck. But if you just have to keep it in your inventory that would be nice.

Another thing that I find super useful for this ring is that if you are hunting in areas where you cannot bookmark, one of you could tele home restock then tele back to the other partner who is still in that Area!

One more thing. It's funny how you can abuse this feature so easily, but I won't say the obvious, because if you can't figure it out, you don't deserve to use it!

O-K! I've seen a similar, but BETTER marriage system on a different online game.
#1 Diamond ring = too Xpensive obviously... unless they put in inf uses.
#2 Why does it seem to me like Lineage pays their employees with Adena cause they keep making everything cost $$. I dont think they need to have people recharge them... just have inf uses. It'll just get annoying wasting a btele whenever u wanna see ur 'partner'.
#3 I think there needs to be an experience penalty for the divorcing person. Not like the ring's useful to them after the divorce, right?...
#4 Marriage systems in online games may be wanted by some... but personally I think it walks a fine moral line. People will start playing the game more and more. Considering there's that spam NC put on that says explore life outside of Lineage... it sounds hypocritical to allow lives on their game.
But that's just my 2 cents.

so you used to go fi party hunt with your husband/wife,

like i've said before, if these rings give any real significant advantages (like being able to teleport to each other in non-bookmarkable places, or getting a hunting bonus when hunting together), the end result will be the vast majority of marriages are solely to get the advantages. that means a lot of guys marrying guys, and most who refuse to do so just get screwed >_<

if you don't believe me, go play nexus... although i'm not sure it's still like that
