Sword of Life

Lineage Playforum (http://community.playforum.net:8080/bbs/prog/column?action=read&iid=10051003&kid=859) reported that NCSoft has given a special gift, "the Sword of Life", to a single player for finding a rare kind of blood [type RH-O](in real life, not in the game). Back in August, there was a national (Korean) call to help someone who needed blood donations, but who had a rare kind of blood. This Lineage player helped locate the blood and NCSoft thought it would be a nice reward.

The sword is 11/12, regenerates HP at 1.5x the speed that a CON 18 knight regenerates HP, is 1-handed, has +1 to hit (like a kat), has a weight of 40, cannot be dropped on death and has safely been daied to +9 with no problems. Strangely (I'm not complaining) it can't be used by mages.

OK I THINK THAT IS REALLY NICE OF THE PERSON. And the reason that they wouldnt do that on the U.S. server Atake! is because just read all the user comments man, we all selfish bitches over here, Canada / US, listen to us!!, world needs to change over here.

this is just make the game not FAIR.. by samething like using real money to buy stuff ..but instead use his own rare blood to save some1.

It costs NCSoft prolly nothing to make such weapon, but i think it was a really cool thing for NC to create such unique gift for the player. So the lesson here is: BE GOOD!

Yeah, but it does seem a little unrealistic. I mean, I applaud the fact that he helped, but how many people do great things every day that go unrewarded? That's the problem with this kind of thing, is you can't give the same rewards to everyone. Which is why it's not done in the US...we have all these complaints about equality and rights.

well.. whatever the opinion is on the guy getting the sword, in the end, all that matters is that the person in need of the blood got it. We should all feel grateful that a person still has his life owning to a mmorpg player, he doesn't even know. And NCI did something wonderful for that guy regardless whether or not the intial intent was to gain publicity or to actually help

ahh... who was the guy who needed blood anyways? The president of NCI? Anyways... i wish i can help them and get a sword like this... or at least a 1 handed dragonslayer or a silver kantana... brb... this will never happen in the US unless there is a blood type so rare that they can find it in Korea...

No One is really being greedy, they're just saying that if one person does a good thing and gets a super sword like that, everyone that does a good thing should get a good sword. Im sure that someone on U.S. server donated money or blood to the september 11 tragedy. What did they get????
