mages rule! ^^ |
From Lineage Playforum:
These dragonslayings occurred on 9/28. The team wanted to keep it a secret, but now that NCSoft is changing the dragons, they are documenting their methods. This took LOTS of experimentation with strategy, lots of studying the dragons (by sacrificing their lives to it) and was not just a "hey, I have an idea" kill. We must congratulate these people on their hard work.
The death of the dragons required using tamed Cyclops, Elders and Skeleton Marksmen. It took FIVE MINUTES to kill them with these mops. It appears (from the screenshots, article didn't specify) that each mage had tamed monsters at least 8 marksmen, 2 elders and 16 cyclops. Probably more.
Teamwork is very important when fighting the dragons. If one member of the team fails the team, the whole team dies quickly. The team consisted of level 45 CON mages, some morphed. Likely everyone was loaded with pots and res scrolls:
Antharas was easier than Fafurion. Fafurion is difficult because he was underwater, has an total screen attack and is in the dark. Its hard to see him, and very difficult to walk up to him and lead him to an area with many obstacles (to block his attacks). When returning to Antharas from Fafurion, they found it to be much easier.
The team used obstacles (rocks, etc) to avoid Fafurions area attacks, this was important to avoid the bubbles.
The used lots of long range attacks. Knights morphed into skeleton axeman were used as bait. They learned that Antharas' front feet only does 100-200 damage. So, they would send a knight in front of Antharas. They would help keep the knight alive (the knight himself would use clears and everyone was in a party) as he ran around and other mages (not on heal duty) used ebolt and other magic to hit the dragon.
Antharas and Fafurion are being fixed by NCSoft so that you CANNOT kill him with only 8 people. NCSoft seems to believe killing the dragons require hundreds of players and are making him more difficult accordingly.
It was worth it (I lightened up the images so you could see everything on the ground):
