This game looks really nice to the eye, especially when you go to the website and read about all they're doing with it. The only thing that sucks is that you can only create a super-HERO. The super-Villian part won't be put in for awhile.

This is the next game I am buying, I love the idea behind, it. Lineage is screwed to hell and back. Making 12k a night when I could normally make 20k to 100k a night , is just too much.

I am even buying a Geforce 3 card this month for the City of Heroes. They allow for alot of customization of heroes, villians that attune to heroes who beat the snot out of them. They also have Anime/Manga for character options.
The engine from what I have read is much more advance than Unreal engine, allowing for alt of FX to be use on characters.

Since I got removed from the Lineage boards I tried alot of different Betas, looked at alot of different sites. Shadowbane, bugs me, I went to Austin for thier open house, and the developer's QA and some players where bragging about PKing people for 80 gold pieces. I decided Shadowbane wasn't for me, its horrible , and unbalance being 3 years in the making it should not be.

I wasted alot of time and money on Lineage when it could have been a very good game, but Lord British and his crew screwed it up badly. There isn't any recourse for people who want to leave.
Most of the players , especially the UK brothers and sisters are getting the shaft big time by Support on issues which could be fixed very easily.

The only person who seems to be doing anything worth my time to stay logged in is Amer. *Shrugs* City of Heroes looks good , it looks fun, the community reminds me of you all. I am on the boards over there as Lost if anyone needs anything.
Drop by and check it out. Its fresh start, they have limited PvP in arena format, but that is better than what is going on at some games. I am sick and tire of getting scraps and hand outs from Lord British, he can keep them.
Amer , I really hope you add a section or link for City of Heroes. When I have more time , I will write some stuff for you on Lineage and City of Heroes.

Anyhow , I hope you all get an Easter Event , god knows you need something different than the hunting , and trying to get ahead. Good luck folks I will be around here and there.

Lost, long time no see.
I think I'm on those boards as LondonBroil. It was a while ago that I set it up though and my memory isn't as sharp at the age of 24 as it was in my youth.
I'll see you in the beta testing of it :)
Btw, I guess I'd need a 3d graphics card? *sigh*

Actually if you think about it, this could spell the end of U.S. Lineage.

Ncsoft is throwing money into a game that isnt theirs to be released here, and if it takes off, I am more than positive they will pull the plug on NCI, which would be a grand finale for those idiots over there who throw pencils at each other and try to come up with new ways to bore their player base to death.

NCI is a very sad company, words can no longer express my discontent for them. They banned most of their power players and made it digressing for the rest of you.

I am very very very sad , 6 up and coming Online Rpgs went on autodestruction, in less than a week. (No I am not in beta , I am walking around kicking tires.) I bought a 1 month account to this Meminese online thing and it went auto destrution , the whole server went down and had major problems.

SB folks are scarying the daylights out of me. I went to the open house in Austin , to look at the game. People are mugging each other for 80 gold, no balance (some classes can power level to highest level in less than 2 days).

My birthday is 30th of March , I need a new card , so after being around the Superheroes community i begin looking for cards. Then they had these amazing screen shots of the game rendered with Geforce 4 card , I went to buy that one but its 499.99 , so I went to the Geforce 3 card at 229.99 , but I went local and got it 182.99 with all the bells and whisles.

World of Warcraft , doesn't look at that impressive to me. Its got alot of "Blizzard" problems already. I talk to a friend who has ties with Blizzard, there is alot of balance issues still. And I don't like the way some of the stuff is being done texture graphic wise.

City of Superheroes is doing textures like I would like them. If you all want to see the video its downloadable its pretty neat. I am getting out the fantasy business , though grainy half ass textures and dull lights...

Most of the next generation online rpgs are excluding you all and me. I mean I am not going to shell out a 499.99 for a Geforce 4 to make 99% of the new games look good.

City of Superheroes is skill based, has something for all my friends who are following me around. As well as its going to be playable on 56k modem. Now as far as 3d cards go , I am going expensive cause its birthday , but I have a few cousins and brothers who are buying the "barebones" Geforce 4 MX series , and some of the TnT cards on sale. The only problem is the MX series and other lesser cards don't take advantage of Directx 8.
If you gonna have to get a new card just get it to run basic 3d , you can afford get more. Put it this way my brother is buying a Geforce 4 MX 440 (I think its 440 it might be higher) , for 100.00 bucks. That isn't alot.

Anyhow stop by and chat with me, or say hi, I want to know how you all are doing. If you do play , just give me a holler , and we fight crime, though I think this time I am going to play a different role. (there is so much that is suppose to be in game that I fell in love with CoH very quickly).

Later folks i will stop in, your all always my first love , and keep the faith. They are going to update lineage with mild 3d someday.

You better London, man I want to start a superhero team or at least find a good group like Lilacvenoms, or Amer , or Superman and ZPeachesZ. At least I don't have to worry about the newbies, since I will be one now.

LOL Lineage US is getting the short end of the stick Jaive, the team making CoH say they have enough money. Its not a screwed up game, its about superheroes. They already have flight done.
Anyhow to each thier own.

LostHeaven, what happened to you to make you so disgruntled with Lineage? I agree that CoH has alot of potential, but you judge Shadowbane too early. It's still in Beta, and for all you know, 80 Gold Pieces is alot of money in that game. And as for power Leveling in a day, it's stil in beta, and it's probably made to be that way. I think the game will surprise you when it gets a full release.

Lord British happen to Lineage, Vail, we have been treated like 3rd world refugees, and shut out on many events. No help at all from US team. And Shadowbane has been in beta for 3 years, they keep finding flaws in it. I went to the demo , and the mentality of PvP gamers gives the creeps. Ever since GTA, Killing has become a Genre type of its own. PvP use to be an aspect but its becoming a genre type, so is Non-Pvp , I got to play a tiny bit of FF XI , and its totally non-pvp with job classes and races.

In Shadowbane demo , I saw beta testers with 300k+ , its not the fact that its the money its the fact People have become mobs/mops. That to me , isn't fun, and I don't want to play something that's main focus is "Killing everything with no regard for rules, hell there are no rules". The other thing that bugs me is that SB has BMP replacements for alot of sieges, for low end graphic cards.

I like the idea behind a Superhero rpg, I also like that you can affect the world, but I also like that the makers have backbone. When they do something they explain, and do within the scope of the game design.
Take for example , players playing villians, they decided not to because of the target group. They didn't want younger players wholesale killing , or selling drugs. The kinda of crap you see in these "Ultra violent" games.

Anyhow I still love Lineage but Lord British ruin alot of what the game fun. The drops the nerfs , the bans, *shrugs* I just hope he doesn't get his grubby paws into City of Superheroes.

Scaleb yeah its suppose to be able to run on Geforce 2, the Geforce 4 MX series is the same as Geforce 2 just supped up. It performs just a bit better than Geforce 2, but Geforce 3 just has the Directx 8+ capability.
I tried DAoC , its very EQ like, and I found all the characters the same. I wanted something like Shadowbane in terms of flexability, but the textures and modelling made me cringe a bit. Then I went to see it in person and I decided to check other games.
I bought a one month to Sci-Fi game , call Meminese or something, and the server has been working, the support team went awol, so I didn't renew. I hit alot of betas , but most of them ho hum in terms of flexability.
then I went back to City of Superheroes, saw the video and decide to hang my hat there.

The other games coming out, are shutting normal out of them. AC2 has high end requires, it looks like Star Wars will as well. There is no way I am upgrading my machine for a game until I see it. Video card, hell its my birthday and I get something special.

Amer just yell at me , if I am making too noise.

Damn lost i havnet seen ya in ages...

now i know lineage is going down the tubes but it still has potential it has been F**ked to hell in back by the f**king b***rd Lord british but it is still a very fun game yo ujust have to be case ful of what you do...

soon they are sposed to do a hugh graphics upgrade so u can costomise players and stick arrows into the ground etc. similar to the Diablo I engine and linage 2 is going to be total 3D world type tihng when they get it off the groud lineage 2 is looking ery promising i think it will hit big

They will not pull the plug on lineage however it takes in billions of dollars a year for them which if they get more players more $$ will go to making the game better they take a certain % of profit and put it twords the game the higher the total the better events and such i think we need to be faithful and not abandon this game so soon it has the possability to turn around and i would like to c it rise abobve other games again.

after the terrible reviews this game has been geting they have no choice but to make it better for $$ sake especilly if they are putting $$ into makeing another game and even if they do pull the plug heros wont be finished for a few more years and the some other US company willl jump at the chance to get at the lineage market it is very lucerative contrary to popular belief

on a final note there is teh contract situation no doubt there was a contract signed between NCI taht prohibites tehm from cutting the game off before so long u know how those things work

Closure , hell yeah , I need all the friends I can get , I am going to attemtp to specialize my powers to a support role.

Hey Pheonix I know I been seeing for the longest time. I decided to jump ship when my brother's dormmate lost his 3 month prepaid, for cussing another player who just PKed him. Yet there are people who can hassle you , lead guards into towns and such and nothing happens to them.
And I don't like paying 15.00 a month for half ass service. Sadly exodus gets a free ride , while our UK brother and sisters get the "the lag is because you are in another country and we aren't going to be bother by problems" . The did the newbie thing too late , put that dumbass search engine in, but anyhow its not my problem anymore.

Gigi , they are going to be doing Super villian at release. I read the FAQ from of the developers talking about crime and what kind of crimes a villian can do and they didn't want that. GMs , and certain players may play villians, as well as they hope to city wide events.
They have random encounter zones, which are areas with high crime , they have underground areas, I think air areas. As well missions you can go, which are tailor to your hero's power level (since its skill based).
Alot of new games coming out are going the opposite way of "Ultra Violent" games. Which they limit PvP to arenas, and they limited the level of violence.

FFXI , as well as some other games are going this direction as well. As with the new genre of "PvP Online games" they also have "Non PvP online games" which are more focus on story and character development.
We don't know the details over everything, but Teams and Heroes can have bases , and I am sure there will be plenty of toys.
What got me turned onto the game , is the flexability, different outfits, different power combinations. I also like the mission idea.
I doubt there will be a gap between action and inaction, though , that is one reason why I want to assemble a Team, not only to chit-chat with old friends but to have someone to hide behind... too bad there are no elves , elves make great bait.

It just depends if Superheroes is your cup of tea or not. It will be a change of pace in the very least anyhow.

LordBritish is just plain gay cos i've had no real fun since his arrival. Nothing has matched up to the shock and excitement since i found out there's something called mainland as a newbie mage and even more a place called DV where there's drakes and antharas. Since then all i've seen is lag, laggier and laggiest.

and even hk server's turned to the dumpster with these dumbass gm's, which i knew they were dumb since beta, though no one believed me, even tw server's got hacking gm's. lineage has no place for me to stay.

*eyes paragon city with a evil grin* =)

btw lostheaven. i can't believe they banned u on the boards.... what did u do for that?

I called thier explaination of lag a Twinkie Defense. I guess I pissed mel off. City of Superheroes hasn't hit beta yet, but alot of people are debating on where to go next.
I was in IRC channel with a group from Dragon Empire, Shadowbane and Starwars, we yelled and cussed over where to go next. Some people like Superheroes some people like science fiction stuff, and some like being around Lord British.

More than likely be center around helping newbie heroes or just hanging out. I wish I could steal Amer's pledge design he had a good pledge, so did Lil v and Zpeachesz. The right section of people... sigh I miss hunting with them, especially Destre and Closure on test server.

Paragon City is accepting refugees , :) , just everyone be sure to abid by the board rules, so they will want us to stay.
