interesting Taiwan Lineage event

SirWilsonF found this little tidbit on the official Taiwan Lineage site:

Not to be confused with Hong Kong Lineage, Taiwan Lineage has as many servers as Korean Lineage. They also have an event up until April 20th. According to the announcment (http://www.gamania.com/action/lineage/20020227_3/), many Taiwan players are level 49. As a result:

The first 100 players to get to level 51 during this time will get a gold ring. Yes, a real gold ring made of the purest gold, not an in-game ring.

If you get to level 50, you will receive a certificate for your achievement.

NC should do that if they want more customer !! they are losing them.... this summer a ton of mmorpg will come !! world of warcraft , elkardian, never winter night..... wow about 6 weeks to get 2 levels and it takes bout 500 hours from 49 to 50 so thats 1000 hours in 6 weeks, so thats roughly 42 days. 1000hours into 42 days is bout 23.8 hours per day. Hmm guess theyre goin to create a bunch of insomniacs while they are at it. Niiice.

*Also the real day is only like 23 hours and 56 minutes long, so lets see...that leaves 8 free minutes if the day to not fight mops...maybe you can power eat a 3 course meal or power poop/pee in 8 minutes, no room for that power nap.

well, they might...uh...have many ppl on one account. yea thats it, shifts on playing lineage! one sleeps and eats etc, while the other plays lineage and they rotate~!

Typically... this game going down hill, might seem cool now to new players
but us old players who remember some of the old events like the one at chaotic temple on dep and so on, they forget about us....

or back when you meet support at Orim and chitchattet some or so..

the reason they doing this is to compensate and try to erase the memory of the hacking gm the taiwanese police caught a few weeks ago. although i sent news about this to amer he didn't post it(though i assume a fair number of u already know about it).

It's all a conspiracy like in X-files, with Melantus being Mr.X helping us out a bit but keeping things back, and RG the president keeping all sorts of secret from us.

Not only a manga+anime freak but also a X-file fan! Trust No One!(i mean as in sharing accts!)

That is absurd. It's just a game. Don't assume that because some Taiwanese players take Lineage too seriously, that people here will too. And really, who cares about the gold ring? Whoever wins it over in Taiwan will probably end up selling it anyways. Then they can Play Lineage for free for a LONG time.

Meh, that's dumb, I'd 100x rather have an in game reward than an out of game one. If I wanted a gold ring I'd go to work instead of playing Lineage. ;p

Oh Orcide, you mean that event that last for about 10 minutes where all the Bosses were summoned, and the Chaotic Temple was so crowded that no one got to attack the Bosses? Yeah, that was a great event. Cool too look at, if you had a great connection to avoid the frequent lag spikes that caused numerous lag deaths. The event a couple months ago where all the Monsters had increased drop was far better. And talking to Support at Orim? Did you ever actually talk to her? She barely spoke enough English for anyone to understand her.

hehe i kinda missed the event were all teh mops were summoned in town damn >< but i was there for the increased drop rate that was fun ^^ made over 600k in one day i was so happy ^^

lmao.... This gold ring is all a marketing scheme to get more income. They pay by the hour by game cards and more hrs you play, more you pay ^.^... They rack in lotta cash making ppl spend time in the game.

First off, in beta the supports didnt speak much english but the GMs DID. Either way, when you asked either of them for meto or any other high level spell, they normally would do it for you if they wernt talking to another player. I remember seeing gm02 blasting bbs in the room before the skeleton room with meto. And one time support walked with me from ti caves to mlc7, casting haste on me when i was trying to get to the death knight.

You've got a better chance of getting a real battle axe from Nc-Austin.

In their employee manual it shows a picture of a guy with one up his ass, doing somersaults chopping wood. I bet they have alot of them in the office. They don't do work, so i guess that's what they do.

You may also substitute the word "head" for battle axe in the second paragraph

ok i got an out of topic question, say u got a firewall and your at skewl so there is no way to open the ports for lineage, anyways wut i'm asking is how would i go about playing by bypassing the firewall, is there a crack or something.

They don't have anyone but themselves to blame for the low server population, the marketing was a half ass job. Look Sir-Tech Canada did the same thing they did , put the game disk on EB, but Sir-Tech also appeared on Talk Shows in Canada, and did aton of work to sell thier game. Wizardry 8 and Lineage came out with the same fanfare , next to none and Wizardry 8 is selling very well.
Most of the new games , from Dragon Empire, to Shadowbane, to Star Wars , to "Semi 3d online games from Singapore" are making great strides. Lord British had his chance, and blew it.
I didn't read one thing from Las Vegas , Austin or any of the local stuff where LB made appearances. Most of the bugs that we reported on the Test Server, got paint slapped on them, and "semi fixed".
This game service right now isn't worth 15.00, I have til Oct. still on my account, and I don't see Lineage getting any better. I was really excited with last update, but the Dep and Ken servers aren't worth playing anymore.
Anyhow , Amer does a great job keeping us informed.

people tend to forget RG's a game designer more than just a plain figure head called Lord British, so i dont' blame him in fewer appeareances

i do blame him on lack of events since commercialization though.

Rg is not a game designer he IS a figure head! NC Korea didnt hire him to help design thier game, they already had it planned for 12 episodes. They hired him in hopes of getting some of the disgruntled uo players.
