Macintosh Client Patch
At 10:00 AM Central US time on Thursday, March 7th, we will be patching some changes to the Macintosh client. These changes do not require a server reset and will include the following:

Changes and Fixes (Macintosh)

  • Support for windowed mode . Press cmd-return to toggle between fullscreen and windowed mode.
  • Right mouse button and mouse wheel function the same as the PC version

    Bug fixes:

  • Pressing the control key in the title screens no longer crashes the game.
  • Disconnects are detected and reported to the user.
  • Players can now quit out of pledges.
  • Mail sent from the Macintosh client is now readable on all platforms.
  • Pressing CTRL-P will take a screenshot and place the file on the desktop.
  • Fixed some random spurious crashes.
  • Game music is fully utilized.
  • When deleting a bookmark, backspace can be used as an alternate to the delete key.
  • Emblems uploaded from the Mac no longer swap red and blue colors

It may be a limitation of DirectX vs MacOS's graphics routines - not a matter of priorities..

Mac sucks, Windows rules.. Nc should pay attention to the bugs in Lineage in windows first then move to Mac. Mac doesn't even have right button function, kinda hard to buy another mouse just for Lineage.

Smokie seam to have problems with the fact that there are other computer standards than Windows. He also seams to be totally oblivious to the fact that the Mac has full support for right mouse button functions (my Mac has it at least). I can buy any USB mouse and plug it in to my Mac and it will work. Many mac users use third party mouses already (including myself). Smokie, get a life.

What is funny is that people still bitch about stuff like macs suck, even when they are helping the game they play (lineage in this case). Mac support = more $ for NC = more game support + events. People like Smokie are the reason Lineage over here does not get as many events as Lineage in other areas.

Well there are already directx windowed games, diablo2 (with a command line switch) being a pretty relevent example. So I wouldnt point to out and out directx limitations. More like design choice limitations on the part of NCI.

Personally I think a windowed PC version would stop alot of the negative comments about lineage's limited graphics. 640x480 (or 800x600) graphics look SO much crisper when viewed in a window on a desktop at higher resolutions.
