Elindare's troops

As many of you know, the Elindare monsters and NPCs that we talked about on the test server are now live.

You can't tame the Serpent of Elindare or the Minion of Elindare, so they must be some kind of temporary event. Also, they hurt. The stupid Minion is aggressive, is in high numbers and can cast tornado. The Serpent can poison you, but it doesn't last anywhere near as long as Ramia.

Anyhow, let's recap what we know:

Minion of Elindare is aggressive drops LOTS of Mithril Arrows. Stock up!

Serpent of Elindare is passive and can drop up to 3 serpent scales

There are two varieties of each monster. You can tell which is which because there is a blue Serpent of Elindare (harder) and a green Serpent of Elindare (easier).

There is no visual difference between the Minions of Elindare. Both look the same, except one of them takes longer to kill and can cast Tornado.

The green Serpent of Elindare is level 9.

The blue Serpent of Elindare is level 15 and could poison you briefly.

The weak Minion of Elindare is level 11.

The strong Minion of Elindare is level 15, has 110 MP and can cast Tornado.
All mops have been added to the monster guide

Currently, there is no quest to kill the Minion of Elindare, however, they are a *huge* nuisance and can kill a high-level player when the stronger ones gang up on you and start with a tornado-fest if you're not careful.

The weaker Elindare mops are found between Gludio and Windawood, as well as the small wasteland.

The stronger Elindare mops are found in the large Wasteland and in the mainland caves entrance area.

I got 3 serpent scales from a green Serpent of Elindare, so they can drop at least up to 3. Well unless someone gave it an extra serpent scale.

i didn't find them hard at all... they almost garantee a scale dropped too... I dun see why the price of the ammy is 10k... I made mine in 10mins... EASY MONEY HEHEHE... I'm sure TaiMaiSHu would agree. "NO SKILLZ INVOLVED AT ALL"

What, 10k? I made mine in 10 mins, oh wait you already said that. So that would mean you could make 2 zels an hour just from the serpent scales. Nah I'm sure price will drop soon, they're just new now.

WL rocks , I got ambushed by 6 Minions, it was so much fun. They have a group of 3 ~ 4 Spars that pop up as one , you can get maybe 12 spar and nuke them to hell. I really love fighting in the WL now , I mean the minions can do 6 spells in a row faster than me, I love saping thier mp.
The green snake things are super easy, I got 121 mp from 2 of them. The weaker minions aren't that hard but when they jump you as a group its so much. I guess its all fun and games until tornado-fest kills me.
The seem to have tweak the spawn rate , and the drops of the DVC, Bask , Cyclops and other big name mops. I am getting a diamond from nearly every Bask.

yeah, i found out that the stronger minions can reaaaallyyy hurt when theres about 20-30 that jump u lol. i was taking a few out at a time on my elf, and like a circle of them all surround me, they got close to me, then like more then half of them used tornado on me =/ well, lets just say i didnt think i could lose 300+hp right away from those lil punks =p

Bah, Basilisk drops are absolutely ridiculous. One of the ones I killed yesterday: Basilisk gave you adena (93). There's no excuse for that. Really, a basil shouldn't drop less than 500~600 adena. >.< Encouraging summon mages to hunt werewolves is sad...

amer if u can remember all the giran mops were not tamable for a time so just give nc a while. they will recognize this and fix it soon.

I also got 3 scales from a serpent. Do you think that since the Minions cast Tornado that they might have a small chance of dropping it like DE? o.O

Basicly what i have discovered by hunting in Giran cave and OB is that
the stronger version of Minion of Elindare is the Dark Elf we all know and love . They cast tornado like before have same ac like before and same hp like before BUT with big diffrence now their arrows don't hurt as much they arrows hurt like weak version of them altou their tornados hurt like they did before .
and weaker version is just some weak new mop that doesn't cast tornado .
So they are same but stronger version = more hp(or beter ac) and cast tornado thats all .

Spyder u full of it, i'd really like to see u pump clear when "20-30" minions are attacking u and 1/2 are using tornado on your ass. thats almost funny that u think 20-30 of anything spawns on a screen at once, other then maybe skeletons in mlc f1. but seriously, you'd be dead in a second if you were tornadoed 15 times. i got like 120-150mp off the harder minion in wasteland last night. they suck. i Swordmaster is right about the harder minion being that acutal dark elfs because it took me FOREVER to kill 1 1:1, and i used errupt on it like 5 times. whereas the easier minion would be dead after 1/2 that. the ones in swl are so weak, but fun to kill.

Oh, another point. the blue serpent was poisoining me constantly, but as it was hitting me its seems every time i was poisoned the next hit it would unpoison me. its pretty strange that the mop would heal me as well as hurt me.

The harder minion isn't really the dark elf, as you can pretty much tell it is between level 15 and 17 (the name was blue to my level 15 and level 16 elves). However, they sure hurt like dark elf. I was near MLC entrance and kind of laughed off 5 dark elves until the two standing next to me did a 1-2 tornado punch and killed me. From now on, I treat them like dark elves and take no chances.

o, ill be more clear, sry carrington -.o when i said 300+ i was saying that i died instantly and lost all 300+ of my hp, thought u would figure that out lol
AND they didnt spawn there, they just ambushed me...they came from offscreen

BTW, both serpent and minion also show up in DV just south and east of Drake #3 spawn.

randolf says two things. from what i have found out so far. one is entirly different from the other. if u talk to him as a mage he say something, then if u talk to him as a elf he will say something different

Pooch Bask, DVC , Ogre , Cyclops all of them drop cash. they range from low (30 adena to 300+ adena). The Queen thing in DVC drop roughly 600 adena. The only problem is now the items are lessen you no longer get 2 items. Like a bask use to drop a diamond and a magic gem now it drop adena or a single item.
Amer a newbie knight dragged 3 of the lesser minions into Skt area and they wreck a dozen or so of my newbies. :( The snakes (the greens ones) are fun though, at -5 ac you can 1:2 them without doggies.

Oh yeah the blue serpents (stronger ones) look pretty aggresive to me. Would you describe a mop that crawls up to you and then tries to bite your head off for no obvious reason as "passive"? ^^
