official update announcement!
Woohoo! NCSoft made an announcement today about the new update. Here are some highlights:
  • New Lineage website, ads, CDs and an event involving Lord British - all starting on October 23.
  • Heine update (Episode 9) is coming on Tuesday, October 23.
  • Heine contains a castle, two dungeons (it doesn't say two, but I added that), new safehouses and new town.
  • Singing Island and Hidden Valley will be added for newbies level 10 and below.
  • New interface with optimized graphics which cut down the installation size by 200 megabytes!
  • Summoned monsters will disappear upon dismissal and drop their loot.
  • Dupelgenon quest will be fixed.
  • Item drop rate will be increased, but adena drop rate will be decreased.
  • Arrows will do half-damage to monsters with thick, armored skin (like cyclops and golem)
  • Curse spells on pets/players will turn caster temporarily chaotic.

    I can't wait...I just hope they open a new server right away :) I think their new website will probably have a really good guide too, it's gonna be cool.

    They r gonna add a new server ? how do u know ? if they do i am gonna move there prolly ? i mean NO LAG and i get all the drops to my SELF cuz not alot of ppl would move there . But i will cuz i am starting as a newb anyways so why not go there ? HAHAHAHA

    They will definitely add a new server. I mean USA has 2, Korea has 30+? I don't think that will continue past a "relaunch"

    Sorry to spoil the fun for you people =[ but most people do not bother with the cds they recieve... for example the aol cds.. what do you do with them? i just throw them out the window o.O but then, lineage is differnt, this game is amazing.. well .. good luck NCI... btw... really nice site... should be added as an official site when complete

    haha AOl cuz ug et one every week i mena COME ON AOL give us a break but lineage is once in a life time opertunity . i think everyone will try it but not all would pay for it . so u guys betetr reserve ur sit in every server haha i made char in both ken and dep to keep my place in both servers .

    I throw away my AOL CDs (or use them to putt into) but when I get CDs from a gaming mag, I usually try all the demos. At least the ones that vaguely interest me. Plus, you forget the Ultima Online zombies who do everything Lord British tells them.

    I used to like AOL floppies. At least you can re-format and re-use 'em :) When I first started lineage, Amer and I were thinking "we'll just try out the demo for 5 days...." I hope we get lots of new players

    Everyone is welcome to mention other sites on this board. Personally I think we need lots of good sites if we are to grow to be a big game, not just a monopoly by a few. I mean, other people should be able to find different news than we can! Anyway -- i did read the Lineage Cycle, and it's eerily true.
