Let me step back some, explain my situation. I just died in Orc Town. I was hunting orcs, minding my own business, when suddenly a bunch of elves started hitting me. I couldn’t teleport to safety or pump potions because they didn’t seem to work. Nothing worked. I watched in horror as all 550 hp disappeared and I lay there, dead as a mouse in a trap. My eyes welled in tears as I saw the last 12% of my level 49 knight disappear like so much sloughed off mud.

Err… No we need to go back farther. Go way back, yes way way back. I was a level 47 knight then; I went by the name of Midnight00. I was hunting one day and a little elf walked by me. I forget what exactly it was he dropped but I gave it back. That elf looked at me with such a gleam in his eye. Had an item been returned? Unbelievable!

Months later I began a small project I called Dlirk. Dlirk had better stats, and fit in much better than Midnight00. One day an elf came up to me, his name was NewNoblez. I’d never seen this elf before but he invited me hunting. I took up his offer and he helped me a lot. Giving me items I’d never seen before. I felt odd taking these things from him and told him so. I refused much of them.

I would later learn that this NewNoblez was a character made by that elf I’d helped on Midnight00 so long ago. Well time passes right? All was well and good, I’d had my share of problems with Depardieu and someone messaged me one day. It was a mage named Image. This mage told me of a fanciful new server called Ken Rahuel. He said to come there and he’d make a man of me. I asked who he was, and he said Noblez.

I played with Noblez on ken and for the first time was really happy with Lineage. Then his friend stole all his items and I hadn’t seen Noblez for a while. A month ago I ran into an elf named Noblez in Fire Valley. I asked him if he was the same and he replied that he was.

My friend had returned could it be? I’d just recovered from a hard death that’d drained much of my level 49 percent. Within days Noblez had braveries for me, enough to fill a swimming pool and still have enough for a shower. Then came a big drop, he gave me 500k for no reason.

“I just want to have one strong friend.” Little did I know I was being used even then, hesitantly, I took this money intent on paying every penny back. Every day the percent seemed to be easier to gain. It was like walking on cloud nine. New items would just appear. I just always assumed that he’d been getting them from playing a lot. I was unaware that he’d been selling all his gear to buy a few nice trinkets for me. Is this how the book ends?

Not quite, because even though I thought it would last forever, he had other plans. He’d wanted to quit and this death was just an excuse. He knew I’d have never taken the items so he waited, and suckered me into taking them. It was a good run, eh?

“But I need you, I can’t play without you.”

“You don’t need me, you’re Dlirk, you’re important, and that is something I can never be.”
