What’s more important; friends or strength? |
So a few weeks ago I was checking out Compendium, I can’t believe how
dedicated Amer is, of course he never had to deal with IK. Anyway, I saw
this neat thing called an experience calculator. At first I thought that
maybe I told it stories and it added them together and told me their value
in flying monkeys, but alas it was not so. This magic calculator instead
allowed me to add up the levels of all my characters.
I was bored this day; god I hate college, flying squirrels everywhere… So
I started putting in all my characters… First, the old 77 server, then I
put in dep and Ken. Lastly, I added my test characters. I came to a
startling, and yet strangely horrifying conclusion. I would be level 55
now. I’d be nearly the most powerful player in America, and I’m sure many
of you can say the same.
I was very angry for a while that day. And in case you are wondering this
isn’t normal anger, it’s the hope that someone forgets how to breath and
struggles in the useless air like a fish. I thought back, why did I start
Ken when I was already level 45 on Dep? Cause my friend Mark called me up
on ole’ ICQ and asked me to come over. Most of my friends had been hacked
or quit and so I had no one to really play with. So I followed Mark and
Chris over to Ken and started over. Got to playing there for a while, met
great people like BeefAssassin. Was a member of Silent, and had a great
time. But then Chris and Mark quit.
So, what’d I do? I followed my friends back to Dep. Dude named Andy got me
back in there and I played non-stop till I got 48. But all my friends had
left dep. So I went and I played Test with them. And three wipes later I’m
starting to get kinda sad. I mean I had great fun, because I followed my
friends from server to server, never staying long enough to get strong.
A friend IMed me, asked me to come play Test with him, so, so long my level
49 knight on dep, back to test. Maybe I’ll reach 50 sometime, but I’ll be
having fun with my friends, no matter what server they hop too.
