captsturm: For the US market, we're not planning to refer to the next epic of six episodes as "Lineage Part 2"

Zubei: is the new class going to overrun elves as the archer class? heh
captsturm: the new class won't be the uber archers (as I currently understand)
captsturm: They'll be...different

Zubei: are they going to be able to pk well? hehe
captsturm: I think they'll be able to hold their own
captsturm: I'm looking forward to playing one myself

Zubei: i noticed in lineagecompendium the new weapon animations for the new class are the current clases going to get those animations as well
captsturm: Some animations that were displayed are specific to the class
captsturm: I don't think updates are planned for the existing class animations yet

KEN_SONAR: cap, can u tell what them GM's was doing on test today playing in DMs ? i belive a score at giran dm at 199xxx is gonna get hard to beat :)
captsturm: Yes, that was to test the DB

bubbles: does ep 13 include hunting areas cus FV is too crowded....
captsturm: Yes, there are some new areas planned with ep13

I_Like_Tuna_Fish: When will you be done with your testing of the class system with no soft ac for loa?
captsturm: The testing on that new LoA class system will take a while--at least a couple of weeks

bubbles: oh and linweb is broke... it shows 10% me for DSM even on dep..
captsturm: bubbles--the web guy is working on that for linweb

QueenNina: You guys tested Destroy in the test DM, possible update to spells coming for mages?
captsturm: QueenNina--that was just used for testing a specific part of the GM
captsturm: but I'm considering some things for the Mage class on LoA as I rotate the focus back on that class

Bigpope: Whats the plans for LiTo?
captsturm: No plans yet for Lito
captsturm: But we're discussing that still

gentatsu: loa has 1% death, some things were made too easy there it not even lineage anymore, seems like another version
captsturm: gentatsu You lose 1% on death on loa?
M-Z^S-M: I personally don't like LoA, but it has unique ideas

captsturm: oh, so being able to PvP people that may not want to is the critical issue?

Yokwi_: Ok. I don't know much about LOA. There are hunting areas or "roped off" areas that are designated PVP combat?
captsturm: Yokwi No, on loa you can pvp--but once your count gets too high, you go to a tough area for "punishment"
captsturm: When you die, you lose a pk count

QueenNina: thats on LoA, can you confirm that?
captsturm: QueenNina I'm not sure if the pk count decays--i don't think so, but I'll double check.
QueenNina: Capt, last I played was in March and before I left I pk around mid Feb, had a count of 5, went away after no pk or dieing
captsturm: QueenNina That was a feature request, I didn't see it on the changelist.

thefrodo: Cap when will the furniture for houses be available?
captsturm: Don't know about furniture at this time
captsturm: don't think its on the front burner

Yokwi_: How limited is "hell"? Is it a certain geographical area or like a mirrored dimension with the higher-count PK people only residing within?
captsturm: it's a specific underworld map

thefrodo: when can we expect ep13 in loa cap?
captsturm: I'm planning on releasing ep13 to LoA at the same time as Ken/Dep

Antirave: captsturm, has the number of players on loa been rising or decreasing?
captsturm: the numbers have been holding pretty steady
captsturm: not a lot of new players coming in yet so does that mean there's no need for another server?
captsturm: no need for another server yet
captsturm: they don't really get crowded until over 1000 per

Bigpope: I need a job. Are you guys need to hire me to be GM for lin2 :p

Leilo: For those of you asking about jobs - we may be doing some future hiring in support of Lineage 2. We'll announce on the web if/when we are. :)

QueenNina: Capsturm what are NC-Austin adevertising plans for the states? People know about Lineage II but, Lineage I is still a popular game.
captsturm: We've just brought on a new marketing/sales guy
captsturm: he's really sharp--too early to discuss specifics but he's a great guy

Yokwi_: FV and Oren are "crowded" .. are you guys going to improve other spots to help disseminate the higher level players?
captsturm: Yokwi we'll continue to monitor feedback on the boards and such and pass that to the Dev Team
captsturm: On LoA, we've began making enhancements to spread the players out

Septonian: CaptSturm - is it possible for you to modify the monster database? (change HP/MP/AC/drops/spawn rate/MR%/experience etc..)
captsturm: Septonian Yes, in some areas
Septonian: so you could theorically increase the exp of some monsters to spread out the players?
captsturm: yes, but exp is linked to other things, like hit probs, damage, and so on

thefrodo: why only new weapons for knights tomorrows update?
captsturm: new weapons for knights?
captsturm: all classes have been getting updates particular to their class
captsturm: Elves got the sets and changes to wafers
captsturm: princes got the nectar and armor
captsturm: mages have been gettig mp regen improvements
captsturm: and blues are more effective based on int/wis

QueenNina: they need some stronger attacks capt for hunting

K2DA: capt - the second "part" of lineage that you guys announced... does it involve any major graphical or interface changes?
captsturm: k2da Yes, one of the episodes is planning to fancy up some of the graphics
captsturm: but to what degree, I can't say yet oh snap :) thanks

DropOut: Have you guys ever thought of having a choice on SoSC to allow players to keep their original form but still allow them to "hide" from mops?
captsturm: Dropout we've talked about that, but it hasn't been too high in the priority so fay
captsturm: far, even
captsturm: but I can't think of a real downside

DDeFoe: Captsrum - Why won't you release the stats of monsters since it is something we can not find out on our own...especially since some features are based on their stats.
captsturm: The dev team wants to preserve some of the "mystery"--so no specs on that.

Chiper: captsturm: so how about it, could you guys consider a lvl 30 elf morph for LoA?
captsturm: chipper I'll look into that--prod me if you don't hear anything in the next couple of weeks
captsturm: it's not as easy as just allowing a player to morph into a bandit archer--they don't all work as a player morph
captsturm: I've consider class specific morphs for LoA--like BK for knights, Medusa for mages, and so on

NoDoubt: well they can't really control dep/ken....
captsturm: yeah, I'd love to do this for Dep/Ken, but we'd need to be sure that the existing players really want the update
captsturm: its hard to say, "lets put this on all servers" if half the old vets would leave because of it

captsturm: LoA ruleset would be a great thing to offer as an alternative

captsturm: One of my biggest concerns about global is how one person can influence the entire servers fun

captsturm: We have to balance staff vs subscriber numbers
captsturm: We obviously need to pull in more money than goes out.

Bulntz: capt:isnt that just a question of monitors being quick enough to remove the induvidual?

Manamoon: why do u keep hiring new staff if the number of players are steady?
captsturm: new staff?

Septonian: hire voluntary GMs then, like ARKs in AO
captsturm: there's concerns with the volunteer staff--which I won't get into the legal aspect
captsturm: but managing volunteers is time intensive as well

Zeon: capt, to get around the legal problems with volunteers, just give them something, like free accounts for the duration of their volunteer status... and as for managing, get a volunteer manager to manager the volunteers :P
captsturm: Zeon it doesn't work like that
