System Restoration and Event

At approximately 9:10 AM US Central time on Thursday, January 23rd, a majority of users on the US Lineage servers experienced disconnects due to an ISP switching failure.

As a result, we have examined the server logs from this time and tracked the loss of dogs during the 9:10 AM – 9:25 AM time period on the Ken Rauhel, Depardieu, and Lands of Aden servers. During the maintenance period on Wednesday, January 29th, we will be restoring the lost dogs to their owners.

In addition, during the weekend of January 31st to February 3rd, we will be holding a polymorph weekend. Various polymorphs will be available to all levels of player, including Death Knight, Demon, Dark Elf, Baphomet and Beleth. That weekend also happens to mark the Lunar New Year, so expect more details on the festivities during the upcoming days!

Finally something from them on what they are going to do. I am happy NC is going to do something for the D/C. The only thing I don't like is that it does not really make up for the exp people lost. Due to the fact that now everyone can use the morph's to get exp. So the poeple who died will gain exp faster yes. The people who didn't die are that much ahead of those of us who did die. I am not going to be mad at them. I am happy there are going to do something for us anyway. I would like to say thanks to NCI for working this problem out in a way that will make everyone happy. Way to go NC! :)

Well i wasnt affected by this d/c because i wasnt on...and i know it sucks for all the ppl who died and lost something...but i think its nice they are trying to make up for it...

Thank U NCI for doing something about this unfortunate incident. Although it benefts everyone and not just the people who lost exp and their pets, it's a great idea. I'm sure it will be a very fun weekend. Good job of getting to the bottom of the problem fast and not waiting for days to fix it.

It is true NC does not control the entire internet, and that more often than not its one's own isp's fault that one is lagging or having d/c's. The fact remains, that to US servers log people from almost allover the world, making the possibility of lagging or d/c much higher than it is in a country like , say , Korea. Thats why, this event is NOT the solution. Its cool, but it does not solve the problem. In fact its not about who'se responsibilty the d/c was so much as the fact that those d/c's do occur only too often, and that people suffer because of that. Personally, I have had 14 d/c deaths at level 49 so far, most of them are my isp's fault, but does that make one feel any better? If the game is about having fun, I dont think this can be called exactly fun. What NC can and SHOULD do is reduce death penalty at high levels. At lvl 49+, 1% is more than enough imho. A knight maybe can make 1% in two hours at level 49, but an elf, a mage or a prince needs alot more time. Unless NC wants people to play 24/7 to advance in this game, those of us who have work/families to take care of will not go anywhere beyond level 49.

Well this is very nice of NC to do something for those who were affected and that they did admit it was their fault. But then again i never lag or d/c at all unless my cable goes out which is very rare either that or i wasnt playing.
ohhh more things to come for the New Lunar Year.
Yes i am all chinese so that makes me happy in a way.

Good Job NC! I agree with some of the comments about all connections around the world affecting Lineage *cough*China*cough*Taiwan*cough*. So, until that stops, Lineage will not lower their d/c rates. Sounds like an insurance commercial doesnt it? :)

wow, and for the people who are 49+ that only means they have to play for about 24 hours to gain back 12%. Good thing its all weekend that way people can get a little more then where they were at before the death.

On another note, i'm excited about the dk morph. I missed the last one and am looking forward to seeing a little sneak peek of my future goal of lvl 52.

Their isp crapped out (notibly texas.net's hub). I have the ping plotter log here.

I was online and died (who wouldn't if you're hunting and you're not immediately disconnected). I wonder why they can't impliment some sort of the buying back exp thing right now (unless it's not ready yet o.o)

The Level 50+ HoF will be in trouble after this morph event...How will Amer be able to tell who's 50+ and not?

But finally, the moment I've been waiting for, a chance to use the Baphomet morph without being Level 50+! Forget the Death Knight. Devil Goats are much more interesting.

More exp at high lvls?! Come on peopel under lvl 30 should lose only like 2-3% when they die. HELP THE NEWBIES coem on nc! people over lvl 50 shpuld lose 1 lvl whenever they die so the newbies can catch up. I mean when someone plays a game for a month he can catch up to thsoe peeps who have been playing years. LES GO NC help the newbies! everyone help the newbies!!! give them more +9 items. So they can 1v1 the 50+ peeps. newbies should start out with like a sahay bow and 2 cois. Because newbioes need alot of help in thsi game.

UltimateOne a lvl 0 char can catch a lvl 48 char in 2 months easly.. Then comes the hard work.. cause at lvl 49 a mage need to play 5 hours non-stop to make only a shitty 1%!!and u wnat that every lag.. disconection we need to lvl up an entire lvl??? shut up man! If u want to 1v1 a lvl 50+ lvl up urself like all the others!

PS. That event doesnt resolve the exp lost on lvl 49+ mages cause they should need to play all the weekend 24/7 to make 12% again. grrr... but its really fun anyway ^^ DK MAGE DK MAGE DK MAGE!! ;b
