The following has been published to the US Test Server on February 13th:
Lineage Episode 12 content has been updated. This includes the following:
Geography
- The capital city of Aden, located on the plane between the Forest of Mirrors and the Forest of Dawn. There are no teleporter NPCs into Aden, but teleporters offer outbound services.
- The Great Castle of Aden
- The Forest of Mirrors – an extension to the Heine Forest of Mirrors and Forest of Dawn, a forest in northwest Aden.
- The Scar of Lindvior – a massive crater located between the Forest of Dawn and the Twilight Mountains
- The Tower of Insolence – a massive tower dungeon for high level players
- Twlight Mountains – giants run amok in this area.
- Experience Buyback
- Players may buy back experience from their last death at a price based on the character level and alignment.
- Experience loss upon death has also been changed.
Pledge Alliance System
- A formal Pledge Alliance system will be introduced.
- In order to be considered an Alliance Prince/ss, you must first successfully complete the Level 45 Prince Class Quest. An Alliance Prince/ss will be able to accept other Royals as pledge members; by doing so, they become the leader of an Alliance and in will be in charge of the Royals of multiple pledges.
- A Prince/ss wishing to join an Alliance will give up all of their current Royal rights; they should make sure to clear their current pledge storage, since after joining the Alliance, their current pledge will no longer exist as it was, so that storage will no longer exist and any items in pledge storage at that time will be deleted.
- Royals below Level 50 can have Alliance members up to 6 times their CHA; Royals Level 50 or higher can accept Alliance members up to 9 times their CHA.
- Alliance members can be one of 4 different ranks:
- Alliance Prince/ss
Head of the Alliance. Has the authority to confer fellow member titles and ranks. Capable of declaring a pledge war, and has every power that a Royal has. Alliance Prince/ss has additional abilities with the /pledge command. To set the rank of Alliance members, hold CTRL and double-click the member name listed in the pledge window; member does not have to be online to do so. Double-clicking on the member’s name when they are online directs a whisper to that member.
- Guardian Knight
Highest ranking Alliance member. Has access to pledge storage without having to receive a title from the Alliance Prince/ss. Can use @ command for normal pledge communication and % command for upper-level Alliance communication between the Alliance Prince/ss and the Guardian Knights. Any class can be ranked as a Guardian Knight.
- Ordinary
Regular Alliance member. Needs a pledge title from the Alliance Prince/ss to access pledge storage. Can use @ command to communicate with other Alliance members.
- Apprentice
Honorary Alliance member. Have pledge emblem but are not considered to be a regular Alliance member. Cannot use pledge storage. Can see Alliance communication but cannot use the @ command to participate in Alliance chat.
Level 45 Prince Quest
Players must complete the level 15 and 30 prince/ess quests before attempting the level 45 quest. The NPC Marshall in Werldern town starts the quest.
Aden Castle
Aden Castle operates under slightly different siege rules than other Lineage castles. To control the castle, a bloodpledge must take over the throne located at the center of the castle. The altar upon which the throne is located is surrounded by a magical force field. To remove the field, characters must first destroy one of the four guardian towers located at the corners of Aden Castle.
Aden Castle redistributes all taxes on all castles within the Lineage game world. All castles will now receive a minimum guaranteed income and part of all castle tax will be paid out to the appropriate town residents as dividends under the hometown system.
Hometowns
The hometown system allows players to designate a hometown and participate in selecting a mayor for that town. Characters must be level 10 or higher to select a hometown by registering with the Village Manager.
Once a hometown is declared, the character will acquire contribution points by killing monsters based on the character level compared to the monster level. Contribution scores are tallied to elect a Mayor each week, who may then determine the town’s tax rate for the week. Characters who have declared a hometown will be paid a dividend from the Village Manager on the 25th of every in-game month.
Other changes
- New monsters and items have been updated.
- The drop rate of the skeleton skull has been increased.
- Ettins attack has been modified: they may now attack up to range 2
- Cereberus is no longer tamable.
- Random teleport will no longer work in Eva’s Temple
- Most monsters will now regenerate hit points. This should not significantly affect short-termed melee fighting
