Episode 12: Bandits and Tower of Insolence 2-3f
Jude1004.com and Lineage Playforum have been posting some hunting tips on the various areas in Episode 12.

Bandits

Jude1004.com (http://lineage.jude1004.com/news/index.asp?pg=/news/view.asp&cts_id=4470) posts that hunting Bandits is the difficulty of Dragon Valley and the experience of Fire Valley beach. The Bandits are usually in groups and the report emphasizes that you can't keep up with potions if you are in the midst of a Bandit group.

Omen Tower 2-3f

All monsters in Tower of Insolence 2-3f are passive to SOSC except for the Dire Wolf, so SOSC is a necessity when hunting there. However, it by no means makes you safe, as there can be large accumulations of Dire Wolf to deal with.

It is also recommended that you carefully time your SOSC, renewing it just before it expires. If you have to restart in the Tower, you will end up in town -- and it's a long walk to get back to the Tower.

A popular hunting party is to take two elves and a knight. The knight will draw one monster at a time using a call lightning wand, while the elves hit it from a distance. The Tower of Insolence monsters only target the first attacker, so the elves are kept out of harm's way with this method.

On the right is a picture of 0Hercules0, level 67 knight, hunting with his party in the higher levels of the Tower of Insolence.

o.o two bone drakes and a bunch of lesser demons... what floor is he on? all of the new stuff is finally appealing to high level players and new areas for them to hunt... its about time they did something other than an area where anyone can hunt, but the better the player, the easier it is.... it's very nice to have someplace actually designed for your level.

i dont get the counterstrike comment?

however is this meant to be for the level 67 people and up? what is considered a "decent level" to be able to hunt up there? how much harder is this than forgotten island? or did everyone forget that was a higher level area and the last to be put in?

no, nobody forgot that FI is for higher levels, I said it is nice that they are finally adding areas for higher level players... but FI was just added reciently, and therefore falls under the 'about time' comment.

I dont think this was intended for hi lvl players. I think it is another attempt of NC trying to force down our throats the party hunting style of playing. NC doesnt want people playing solo...its just not normal to the korean big wigs. Most of my friends/pledge left lineage due to disgust some time ago. If i am required to hunt with a group in order to visit this new area, then Lineage hasnt really changed for me.

Its nice to see new stuff coming, but at this point, i am not holding my breath.

Did anyone catch the thing about the bandit groups in fv beach and dv? If that is true, and bandit groups are too much for one person to handle, I wonder how much that will change the hunting styles of large numbers of people who play the game? May even alter some drake hunting/camping patterns, not sure. Any thoughts?

Bandit Groups are in their own area -- the difficulty is like that of DV. They're not actually in DV....

Fi is not for high levels! Almost every single monster is sub 50. You call that high? This is a place for true high levels! Level 50+ monsters everywhere you go, and lots of them.

Why is everyone so adamantly against group hunting? Are you not socially withdrawn enough already? Is that it? I can't figure out another reason...
Personally, I ENJOY interaction with other people. If you want to hunt solo, there are PLENTY of places to do so... but at higher levels I can't even think of 1 place to hunt including FI that would require more than 2 people to hunt for quite a bit of time.
I personally think I will LOVE episode 12 even though it undoubtedly heralds a slew of deaths and lost exp ;).

wow....
looks like I'll be dying alot.....lol
since the mops aren't aggressive to others hitting
wonder if u can bring dogs there
elves in morph would rule the tower
hehe

ppl r against group hunting because they have no friends to hunt with
and they r all alone
one of those ppl who think it is unfair that ppl have friends to hunt with yet they don't
same with y those ppl most likely hate acc sharers power lvling one character
though it is wrong in TOS (let's not have a big debate about that here)
or when ppl share their items with friends which is perfectly fine with NC
lineage is a friendly community (somewhat) get to know more ppl and have more fun
if u want to hunt solo
go play a rpg on a console

Uh.. "ppl r against group hunting because they have no friends to hunt with"
O.o i hate hunting with other people, doesnt have a thing to do with friends. With groups ya gotta worry about drops, talking, and other annoyances. Im about one of the most social people you'll see on lineage, but, i just hate having someone follow me around helping killing stuff.. I think the only people i ever actually hunted with was ElfPrincess, and Taera.. hunts with Taera never ended well though. o.o normally ended with one of us dead, or a dog massacre..

Actually I think you people forgot FI isn't meant for LEVELING, this is.

FI is meant for drops, the mops have the strength of the level they are, PLUS they are haste speed BEFORE haste. FI was never meant for leveling purposes, it is just a slight side-effect, these mops are meant for the regular hunting party (well, if that party is lvl 45+ with multiple water elves using b2s/natures touch)

chum, that is y u hunt with friends u trust completely where u don't mind sharing drops with
like the ppl I hunt with, if we get like a b-zel or b-dai, doesn't matter who got it....cuz we all share our items
teamwork with pledge mates and ppl u don't know well
I guess I can understand y u wouldn't want to hunt in groups if that is the case

so what if dogs die quick?
clearly stated
"The Tower of Insolence monsters only target the first attacker, so the elves are kept out of harm's way with this method."
unless u die
your dogs won't be harmed
besides
if u did die
if care for your dogs, u would quickly restart
