1/14 - US Live Servers - Publish Announcement

The following changes will be published to the US Lineage servers, during the Wednesday 10:00am Central US time maintenance.

NOTE: A significant amount of data will be included in this publish, in part due to preparation for Episode 12. Players should prepare for a patch of over 40 megabytes in size.

The publish will include the following:

Graphical fixes.
Talking Island innkeeper now sends players directly to their purchased room.
The polymorph option list has been updated. You can no longer morph into certain dogs with Scroll of Polymorph.
The Pumpkin Helm ability has been adjusted. The speed has been reduced and items can no longer be picked up while the helm is worn. Also, there is a 5-second delay in equipping/de-equipping the Helm.
Dice dagger damage has been reduced.
The crafting system now checks against the weight amount a player can carry. Materials for the crafting process will not be consumed if an item is not crafted due to weight restrictions.
Disabled the spell “Return to Nature” on Ken Rauhel.
The Forgotten Island ticket seller, named Isvall, now knows the ship schedule.
Talking Island Coliseum has been added.
Level 30+ quests have been added:
- NPC named Mark added in the desert by the Oasis (Knight Quest).
- NPC Gereng on Talking Island has quests added/modified (Mage quest).
- NPC Mother Tree in the Elven Forest has a new quest added (Elf Quest).
- NPC Aria in Woodbec/Windawood has been added with a quest (Prince Quest). Currently, the Call Clan spell received as part of the quest reward is disabled. It can still be learned and will appear in the spell options, but will not function at this time. The other reward as part of the quest is still available to princes.
Lands of Aden Server Only: The Helm of Magic: Healing, Helm of Magic: Speed, and Helm of Magic: Power are now Prince only and will be dropped more frequently by monsters.

Ken doesn't get Return to Nature, cos it's pvp only - And you can't use summons properly in seiges, so no point having a counter-measure for summons ;)

Dice dagger damage has been reduced - Weird, I wonder why, it wasn't *that* powerful?

Also I thought TI arena was the last one to be added - Did they add all the other arena's without me noticing?

Test on monday... Live 2 days later... THANK YOU NC I'm finally getting the 2nd christmas present I wanted.

TI arena: I'm guessing this is on test now, what levels/classes/genders/etc are the requirements?

Call clan... nice. Thats a cheap mass tele + rotc, where you need no mage and only maybe a blue if you want lots of people over without @ cost.

so i guess it's pretty much useless on stealing stuff now right?...
if it's as slow as a normal skel...it's junk.........!!!!!!!

it's a dagger...how much dmg it does..?...except for the blowing up part with 2/3 dmg gone...maybe they reduce that fraction to something like 1/10 or something....(what would make it more useless then...)

The dice dagger was very slightly reduced, but more importantly it's formula was just changed a bit. The reason is that before, it was possible under certain conditions to one-hit kill. We have removed that possibility. You might not even notice the difference on the play side, but the formula in the back is changed up a bit.

Don't get me wrong Mel, I'm happy for the cloak...VERY happy...but why tease us with a spell that's actually USEFUL for a Royal, when we can't USE it!...It took you forever to actually do something for the Royal, and you still can't get it right?...bah I say!

gigi: 3 days is nothing. It's worse than hunting b2s, with the added thing that any other class gets it at a frantic rate. I tallied up my hours on trying for the thing both passively and actively and reached about 180 hours. The last 48 of that was 4h per day for most of a fortnight (starting on about the 15th dec since I guessed you would have to do that quest before being able to do that one) sitting in south lwl, seeing about 1 person every 2 days, killing every skel, zomb, ghoul, and spart that came into my sight. I racked up a total of 11 nails and 12 teeth in that 180h, and since several more of each in owl. All I can wish you is good luck.

what i dont get is a knight can finish the quest in 1 day...

while i have to be stuck doing that quest for 4 days now...(1 day for nail and tooth...lucky, 3 days and counting for skull) and still havent finish the quest

i wonder how many mages can actually be "able" to do the lv 30 one if the skulls continue to be rare...

Freax: The pumkin helm is not the pumkin costume. The helm is what you put on to see the invisible pumpkin dude. I didn't bother with this event so I don't know the specifics, but I do have a pumpkin helm that I found laying on the ground.

lv15 quests.... elf quest took me a weekend, both prince quests took me no time at all, got BK doc on the first bk set i killed. dont have a mage, have yet to get TD shell for my knight...i must add i get enless suplies of teeth/nails o.O

Can someone tell me what this means about summoning?

Does that mean that you can learn all 4 spirits? Or that you don't need to keep using spirit crystals for summons?

it means if u change lines, u can just summon one of the new line instead....

this seems strange becuz the NPC's and the help menu in game specifically say that u will lose the summon spell when changing lines...who knows whether its an NC mistake or a last minute change...(maybe mel can elaborate if hes still following this thread?)

and yes they do need to up the drop rate on the skell skulls, i really dont spending forever hunting skells and getting no skull. come on all of them have a skull, are we bashing the skull in to bits and pieces when we are killing them

IMHO its better to wait the time for 40MB now when there isnt much new content awaiting u. rather than wait for 100+MB for ALOT of content

on a side note, i am glad i have cable now :) (i do sympathize with modem users though, i know what its like)

but where the fuck is the skeleton skull....?
I don't understand y NC makes all the other quests more difficult (much lesser drop rate) compared to the knight quest
it just doesn't make sense at all....

As far as I can tell, the LoA user numbers haven't changed. It was hot for a few days, then half the people went back to their respective servers.

100k seems like a small price to pay for a great Mage item.

how hard was it for people to comprehend the FI boat schedual o.O every 4 lineage hours i believe.. and if u need a starting point the last boat of the lineage day leaves at 18:00

i was about to go on a rant when i first read the articles being added because of the sosc change, pumpkin costume change, and dice dagger, and how NC likes to nerf so much... then i saw the quests and i was placated much ^^

Engineer - by now many mages want a csom enough to pay 100k. But 100k is 100k, small price for some... big price for many. And does a single other quest past or present require money? *And*, on top of that, not only do we have to pay 100k, but we also have to do a contorted one-at-a-time quest *and *that** has a half chance of giving you a tph scroll instead of the quest item.

Ok, so I want that csom enough to be completely prepared for it already. But it took quite a while. Looking at all the other quests they all take time to do, but I don't like the tph :P having to do the run three times will be annoying, fingers crossed for first time...

skele skull = rare
ghoul tooth = not as rare but i got 5 nzel from ghouls BEFORE getting tooth --
ghoul nail = ez to get o_o

i got the skele skull from the first skele i killed in TI cave.. i think it drops more frequently there

All the elves rejoice, YAY we make more money have a new place to hunt, and have an extra summon to steal other people's mops....im not too pissed maybe everyone will stop blaming knights for everything that goes wrong.
If you complain about Knight quest being too easy...dont we get a worthless shield out of it.
My only complaint is: we earned our pumpkin costumes during the event, don't screw them up later in the game, we already have the AC restriction on it, the costume is completely worthless now, except for the sole use of putting newbs a year from now in total awe. FIX MY COSTUME!

instead of saying "o dam now their nerfing knights" u should b saying "FINALLY THEIR DOIN SUMTHIN ABOUT DA BALANCE IN DIS GAME INSTEAD OF SITTIN AROUND PIKIN THEIR ASS'z!!!"... i mean dis is like da 1st real knight nerf in lineage history dood compaired to da millionz dat have hit mage in da past...

i noticed lineage has been listening 2 US more lately and trying harder 2 keep us in da game and dis is 1 of da thingz dat apply 2 dat...

i mean how unfair is it a knight can use haste b4 a mage can... wdf is dat

I don't see what the problem with 100k for csom, it takes 180k to enchant the other items before they are useful.
