Player Spotlight- Deeqs

Lately a lot of people have been creating elves; they are, after all, the best class (for now) in Lineage. But it’s people like Deeqs, people who have been elves since day one, through sickness and through health, through nerfs and uberness, who really appreciate the class.

Personally, I am convinced that Deeqs is just after the sexy elf ears. Of his three characters two are elves: Deeqs, the level 49 dexterity elf and Deeqsssss, the level 48 constitution elf. He has a knight too (SirDeeqs, level 45) but he mainly uses that one for dragon hunts. Deeqs hunts with a +9 Rapier and a +8 Yumi. His armor class is in the –60s, in fact closer to –70!

“I don’t take leveling as seriously as I used to,” Deeqs comments. Why, you might wonder? Who would even think of slowing down at this point? Well, being the prince of both ElvenKings (an all elf pledge) and ElvenGuards (mixed classes) gives Deeqs something to do other then twiddling his thumbs and hitting monsters.

When he does hunt, he does it in what I like to call “mood ring style,” meaning that he hunts different places for different reasons. For experience he hits Dragon Valley skeletons, solo of course. For money he goes Fire Valley, alone or with a friend. For bosses he hits the demon, ant queen, or phoenix. Sadly, none of them have given him very good drops yet. And last of all, when he cranks out the pledge hunt you can find several ElvenKings/Guards running about Dragon Valley Cave, 5th and 6th floors. The best thing about pledge hunts (especially all elf pledge hunts) is the fact that there is absolutely no need for potions. Throw a few Blood To Souls in there, add a few heals/water elves and top it off with over five thousand arrows per elf and you have death with pointy ears and unnaturally blond hair.

When I asked him what he thought about upcoming updates he had several things to say. He didn’t have much on Forgotten Island, simply commenting, “It looks interesting, should be a blast!” On Land of Aden though he had much more to say:

  1. Make experience loss to high levels less
  2. Give mages a break [amen to that- Tae]
  3. Relax on the drop events
  4. Don’t nerf elves like mages

Deeqs feels that all the drop events gives an unfair advantage to the newer players over the older players. One example he gave me was a newbie friend of his who got two b-tsu in the event...I did pretty well myself, but not that good, and I'm sure I have been playing longer.

I don't agree with you guys on the LOA thing tho. I love new servers, server wipes and everything like that. It makes it an even battlefield, everyone equals. Makes it soo much fun to see who lvls up first and stuff.

hehe and dep is easy to get items I got 4 cois(blew 2 cois), +9rap/kat/xbow 8tsu -6x in like 2-3months (hardly got anything during events tho. I'm an elf)

umm actually elf is my main char and only char. I only made the +8tsu to start a knight. Then when I started knight I got it up to lvl 39 only and got bored of it. If you know me on dep, you know my chars :P. If you don't lol don't say stuff that is doubting what I say.

Deeqs! Rich ole uncle Deeqs! Its me, the ole Devlnzide aka XBloodShedX from Dep. Sounds like you are doing hella good and I sometimes wish I hadnt left Dep for test but as they say, que sera sera lol. I never played elf chars before last test server and now Im on my 3rd elf so far. I agree, it IS the best class out there atm. My 1st 2 elves made to 47 before we hit wipe times and now Im on a lv 48 elf with 8yumi and 6x ac also. We have a re-creation of the EK and EG on test server now as well that included Augi also o.o
Dallamar has hooked up with us now on test also and I see him on a daily basis too. I cant wait for the elven summons and elven tshirts!!!!! They say soon ^.^
Well, this is my short post just say you in the spotlight while checking news and thought Id give ya a quick hello. Tell Julessssss I says hello as I havent seen her in ages either. Take care guys I wish you the best in everything.

BTW if you ever drop into test server, my elf is OMEGA =)

Excellent article...it's nice to see someone other than a level 50 being recognized...there are a lot of folks out there, myself included, where levels are not as important as the family and friends that have been made in the game. It's important that those folks be recognized as well.

Now if we can get our Ken reporters to do some articles like these, along with the pledge articles you folks have from Dep, I'd be a happy man...lol

Deeqs, my bud. congrats on this...you let me into EG though only lvl 34-35 and the lvl is set to 40. thx for that. this is the first pledge i can call a "home pledge" seeing as i was in pledges such as SOL, GT, NK and a few newbie pledges.

even though my lvl currently is only 38(school comes first my friends) i have tremendous AC (just like yours)...congrats on the spotlight, and cant wait to see you hit 50.

OOo took me forever to post again. This is all very great, and you people who are saying stuff about dallamar giving him items are just dumb or jealous you don't have good friends like that in the game. It's not like dall gave him everyting he has, get a grip. When you are friends people do stuff for other people, I gave dall all my stuff when I left dep, including my trusty lvl 38 dober. Hope he's still around, I miss the little fella. Anywho, yeah.. go people who are cool! Noone will prolly ever actually even see this post so I guess I will just keep talking for no reason in perticular. Augi you better still be coming to Lin2 when it is out. Another good elf there, Augi you rock too! I remember when you left us for good off of test server. Me and tuxedomask lucked out in a way of having such a cool friend but then of course, all things must come to an end. Anyways, a little off topic there aren't I. Do EK still have a castle?

Ahem, What Deeqs did not mention is the enemies he's made >=). Not to mention the pks hired to kill them. Too bad these articles only look at the good side of a character, heheh. I've been aware of Deeq's presence since his first character was level 30 or so. He's learned his way with people, and gotten more mature, I'll give him that. But still, he doesn't know how to forgive & forget. Considering he was basically my 'lineage hero' until he had me hunted >=). All I did was take 20 reds from an Elven King during a training run in TI dueling arena. However, I only did that because of what preceded it. They were gettin ready to train in the arena, when a newb character started bugging some EK. One of the EK, in a show of strength, shot an arrow at the little mage standing outside the combat zone. It killed him. The EK went chaotic, and started gettin annoyed. So, I took my mage I just re-made, who was at level 8, and proceeded to kill the mage until he got annoyed at me and left everyone alone. At least I think he did. Anyways, after I made my mage chaotic, and un-useful at lvl 8, I took my knight and went into the arena to watch training. I stood in the corner, out of the way. Then, not more than 5 minutes later, the EK started trying to kill me for kicks. I started using oranges and running out of the arena, considering I was only level 20+. It was an easy escape, or it would have been, if they didn't block me off. I tried telling them to stop, and so did some EK. Of course they didn't, and I ran outta pots, an died. YES, I'm imature. Now, your probably saying "Its a duel zone, who cares? You didn't have to waste the pots!". True, but you'd think they would have been a little nice considering I just had to re-make my mage.. again. I aint rich, and I level slowly, so it wasn't funny to me. Anyways, I came back, they had reds on the ground for a long time. I decided, hey, I wasted oranges trying to get out, so why not let them pay me back in reds. so I ran and grabbed them. Then EK started balling about their 20 reds. I'm thinking, your all rich, spread the wealth. But nooo, they want their 20 reds. So they all start trying to kill me/hit me, etc. But like I said, I been here a long time, and the one thing I've learned is how to make people unable to kill me. So, guards helped me a lil. Then a she-elf comes up to the arena, and starts talking with them. She whispers me, and says she's seen me around, and was hired to pk me, by EK. I said good for her. She said she liked my style, w/e that means >=). So she didn't try. Nowadays, on Dep server, most every EK doesn't care about it. There's only 2 that do. One's just naturally ill-tempered, and the other = Deeqs. Like Really, how long can a guy hold a grudge?! Freaky Deeqy, I'm SOrry for buggin ur pledge! Why can't weee be friends, why can't we be friends, etc. So... There's something for your spotlight on Deeqs.

I decided to take a look at compendium after quitting the game 3 months ago and look at this, you're in the spotlight! I'd say it's about time! It's good to see that you and EK are still alive and kicking.
