NCsoft Start Commercial Service of Lineage in China from April 28 |
Fully geared up for serving the Chinese market with building new facilities at Chengdu, Changsha and Nanjing
April 24, 2003 - NCsoft Corp. (President: Tack Jin Kim) announced it will launch commercial service of its online game, Lineage in the Chinese market from April 28. NCsoft and China’s biggest portal Sina.com have founded a joint venture, Shanghai NC-Sina Information Technology Co., LTD (NC-Sina) and have been currently providing beta services of Lineage for the Chinese users.
The Joint venture NC-Sina will operate the subscription-based Lineage service in China. NCsoft signed a service license contract with NC-Sina for Lineage’s commercial service on April 21.
Lineage service in China has now more than 20,000 concurrent users through eight servers in Shanghai and Chengdu. NCsoft plans to enhance its presence in the Chinese market by building new servers in the Information Data Center (IDC) in Chengdu (Sichuan sheng), Changsha (Hunan sheng) and Nanjing (Jiangsu sheng). NC-Sina aims to increase up to 100,000 concurrent users within this year.
Service Fee for Lineage Service in China
- 25 hours: 10 RMB (about 1,550 Won) US$1.21 -amer
- 72 hours: 25 RMB (about 3,850 Won) US$3.02 -amer
