Depardieu Pledge Spotlight: Spitfire |
What is red and yellow all over? Spitfire! What has a level 51 knight, level 50 knight, level 49.9 mage, and level 49.9 knight? Spitfire! What has a pledge house in the middle of Giran? Spitfire! ¿Qual es el caballero mas feo? ¡Leyend!
An interesting thing happened while I was hunting the phoenix today. I ran into a knight who started attacking me, I tried to fend him off, but I was frozen solid by his friend, a mage. Now, this might not seem odd at the phoenix, but the truly odd thing was how they proceeded next. Wiping some blood off his sword, the knight smiled and said, “Come interview us for compendium.”
My heart skipped a beat, was I being spared? Only if I agreed to interview them, so bound and gagged I followed them to the Giran hotel where I was introduced to the rest of them. These usually kind hearted folk are members of the Spitfire blood pledge. It began about one and a half years ago and consists entirely of Spanish speaking people; most of them speak both French and English as well. They range in ages from 15 to 27 and come from many places, Hong Kong, Spain, and Argentina to name a few. They say the best part of their pledge is the loyalty, because on their frequent pledge hunts they always split drops at the end. Though since many members are real life friends, and very nice people, it’s hard to believe there would be no loyalty.
Some people might know about Leyend and Tungusca, the two level 50 plus knights in Spitfire, but they’d be wrong to think Spitfire has a bunch of weaklings besides those two. They are very dedicated with Shinmaril a level 49.9 mage and Raytor a level 49.9 knight. They assure me that many others are close as well.
They say that you don’t have to be any certain level or even speak Spanish to join, but “you’d probably get very bored since pledge chat is entirely in Spanish.” Some members tell me they joined at level ten, which is kind of hard to believe in this day and age of 49+ only pledges. They do dream of a Spanish Alliance but say that organizing that many people would be very difficult; however, they do have some words for NC.
It is very unfair to keep chat banning and perm banning their members for speaking in Spanish on chat. Take the word Diu for instance. Shinmaril has been chat banned for three weeks because of the use of this word which means bitch in Chinese, but means “says” in Catalan. Many other words work this way. They want NC to get some Spanish speaking monitors or develop a Spanish filter too. Then again the English filter isn’t that great, I mean you can’t even say screwdriver. Many of their players are very old and have rolled characters. LaHispana, the princess, is a rolled 18 charisma princess.
LaHispana encourages fun and good humor in their pledge and only nice people can join. They even videotaped the interview, and I assume it will be on their webpage, http://lineage.aquiveras.com/, shortly. However, by now they were getting bored with me and they offered me some stolen Elven Apple Pie and the mages lit up the scene with brilliant fires and fierce winds. We all can only hope to be in a pledge of loyalty and friendship like Spitfire some day.
