Important Update

Domain propogation issues independent of the recent server moves are currently affecting all North American Lineage gamers. To avoid problems connecting to the game servers over the next 48-72 hours, please modify your game shortcuts using the following instructions:

Windows Users

  1. Right-click on your Lineage shortcut and click on Properties.
  2. Remove the /us from your target line and replace it with the server IP address.

    Ken Rauhel server IP address is 216.166.78.132

    Depardieu server IP address is 216.166.78.131

  3. Click OK.
  4. Start Lineage using the shortcut.

If you play on multiple servers, you may use these instructions to swap IP addresses from your shortcuts, or you may wish to set up separate shortcuts for each server.

Macintosh Users

Open the Terminal application located in the Applications/Utilities folder

Run the client from the Terminal application by typing in the following:

For Ken Rauhel, type: /Applications/Lineage.app/Contents/MacOS/Lineage 216.166.78.132

For Depardieu, type: /Applications/Lineage.app/Contents/MacOS/Lineage 216.166.78.131

Is there any relevance? It's their network problem (texas.net) and not their own issues. Just dome DNS problems.

Already did the shortcut before they addressed the issue.. o.o

I HATE U NC, my lineage is broke now. it says download lineage off the website. well screw U, im on 56k im not waiting 2-3 days to get lineage again. and the only cd i have will take me a year to update all the files that have been updated. SCREW U NC.

well, i had problems with that, i think it was u had to make a copy of the original exe file, and then u can edit it. bc i remember i couldnt do taht when i copied the shortcut. try that

this is what NC told me to do:
"There is a shareware program called Ping Plotter that may be of some use to you in determining where the packet loss or latency is happening. You can find the program and information on how to use it at http://www.pingplotter.com . **This program is not supported by NCSoft** I mention it because I have seen it help people locate their latency issue by letting it run in the background while playing Lineage for troubleshooting purposes. It is not recommended that you leave it running in the background for extended periods of time because it may affect the performance of your connection due to the constant monitoring that it does.

There is a freeware version of Ping Plotter on the site as well, however it is lacking some of the historical tracking features that will help you in finding the likely source of your latency.

Once you install the shareware version of Ping Plotter, do a ping and trace to 216.166.78.131

You can save a sample set by clicking on File -> Save Sample Set.

Information regarding how to interpret the results can be found in the Ping Plotter FAQ located at the following URLs:

i don't know if i should spend all this time to do it. on top of that, i might have to pay for the sofeware, since he said the freeware is lacking something features. =(
i was thinking to reinstall lineage if nothing is working for me. but #21 said she did that but still not working... =(

what should i do?
any idea... *cry* agree with #22 lucky for them the game is addictive.

support sent me the same message regarding the ping plotter. i tried using it. but they also said that i run it while playing lineage.... lol the problem is i can't connect to lineage much less play the game =( -- so i sent in another e-mail, they just replied with the same answer =( sux... *sniff* if this continues, i guess i'll just cancel my account, no use playing anymore. no wonder NC gave us heine event... small compensation for the trouble some of us players are going thru now =(
