Server Publish 8/7

The US Lineage servers will be brought down for a brief maintenance and publish on Thursday, August 7th at 10:00 AM CDT. The servers are expected to remain unavailable for approximately 30-45 minutes while we publish the following content:

All servers:

Innkeepers will now offer players the option to directly enter an inn room via the text page once a key is purchased.

Lands of Aden server:

Adjustments have been made to the AC of many monsters so that the difficulty of landing melee hits is closer to that on Depardieu and Ken Rauhel.
The spawn rate for monsters in Dragon Valley has been increased.
The NPC merchant Mellin in Silver Knight Town will now sell Teleport Scroll: Turtle Island.
Knights will now be ejected from Turtle Island to Silver Knight Town; all other classes will continue to be ejected to Talking Island.
A Pirate invading party has been added to Turtle Island; this will replace the current Black Knight party.
The Wizard’s Cap now has a maximum-level restriction of 23.
Spellbook (Destroy) has been added as a very rare drop from certain “boss” creatures; spell requirements, attributes, and effects will be unique to the LoA server.

Foulness!!! Why is a lvl restriction being put on a 400wt cap that gives +1 to ac and is not enchantable??? That's rediculous. As for Destroy spell, it's about damn time (xcuse my french). Where are the rest of the mage spells? What exactly is ment by "spell requirements, attributes, and effects will be unique to the LOA server"?

Suuuuuuuuuuuuuure they are, then why is it already startin to happen again where knights and elves are becoming the all powerful ones at sieges?

Mages were great at the start of loa when they were only competing with average armour and ac, but as a knights weapon gets jacked up really powerful and his ac goes up - the mage's damage to the enemy is lowered while the knights still doing loads cuz he can up his attack as well as defence. Thus....its about freakin time we got a new power attack spell.

in a siege people jump each other, so ofcourse a mage well get whipped, on the hunting field mages are awsome, and in 1v1's

Why is a lvl restriction being put on a 400wt cap that gives +1 to ac and is not enchantable???

being able to level a charcater with hardly any items rom 1~25 is not fair. And i have seen other people use it to go 1~48 in one week with few items. I do not feel it is fair and i have complained to Capt a few times. Not to mention using it at bosses where people who do not abuse the cap do not get as many drops.

yes all servers use the same files. Certain lines of code simply contain flags to instruct the game how to act on different servers. The server itself verifies actions though, so don't start bugging your smart friend to crack it for you.

IIRC, and I could be wrong about this, but the mage cap already had a level restriction of 12. This decreases the restriction, not adds it.

Now if you're asking why restrict it at all, clearly you aren't familiar with the mage cap's powers. 1MP e-bolt is always a good thing.

Great updates except for the mage cap restriction. I think that it should be restricted at a higher lvl because it isn't fair for those mages who used it to get to 48 and now mages can only use it till 23? Doesn't make since, plus you do it after I get hacked and am gone for 3 months so now I remake a char and can't lvl up anymore. Great, just would you make it around 40?? makes more sense and I think many people would agree with me.

i'm from dep, i am not in a baaaaaaaaaaad mood, detroy will be rare, very very very rare, maybe even worse then rotc from succubus queen

so, that means it will be very expensive, not many ppl walking around with it
and it says: "spell requirements, attributes, and effects will be unique to the LoA server"

maybe the are reducing the damge, making the requirements higher, make u go chao when used, need some item to cast it etc etc

so, no i am not in a bad mood

oh and another thing, how come destroy does tremendous damage, and meteor strike does huge damage, i mean wich is more (cuz meteor strike needs more mp/hp/gems to cast)

Becasue meteor strike is Area of Effect, not single target. It does less (though not much) but attacks a huge radius.

but destroy....awesome. i don't think it'll have any penalties, as far as chao points....since it's described as using the ultimate power of the good god....plus, dep/ken, you know you wish you had destroy, don't make up excuses of why destroy would be bad. you know you've wanted it since you began playing mage. but, tissot, you are right, you probably would make alot of people quit (or move to LoA)....destroy would make you God-like, even moreso than you already are...but is that a bad thing? i think not.

oh, and the AC was adjusted? my guess is it was lowered. finally, this means that knights will be able to hit things WITHOUT the help of a mailbreaker. awesome. glad to see NCaustin can think of things other than nerfs. keep em coming.

23 because at 24 you get ok spells. More sense would have been 28 , since you get summont then.

Either way, no level 5 character with no ac and no items should be able to hunt FV....which mages can still do...

L.O.A....for the people who cant handle the REAL server known as DEP. hope more ppl leave DEP for l.o.a. More space and mops for the rest of us. hehe
P.S. if u use hacks, patches, whatever, it only means 1 thing, this game is 2 rough for you, try something easier, like connect 4 or maybe candy land. get ur own items and X the real way, work hard for it.
