12/23 - LoA server rollback

From Melantus on the forums (corrected):

We are doing a rollback of the LoA server right now, and rolling it back to about midnight central US time this morning.

A rollback means that we are reverting the data back to when it was saved at 12:00am this morning. Anything you did (deaths, getting items, getting adena) between now and 12:00am will be gone.

It's like going back in time. :)

Melantus didn't release specifics, but it was to correct an error with their server. Here's what CaptSturm said about NC's apology to LoA players:

We are going to do something over the next few days to make up for this situation.

Random spawns of Reindeer, Fox, Bear, and Boar will have a chance of dropping some neat items.

Now, this doesn't mean every fox you kill will drop a dragon slayer, but there should be some reasonable drops to offset the extreme inconvenience you've been subjected to.

I do offer my sincerest apologies for this and promise that we're working to prevent future issues.

But, why is it a drop event?
only lucky ppl can get items and most of us won't be happy after all.
It should be morph event or illusion event so that everyone can enjoy. :<

I've been hunting bears for ages now. killed 52 bears (i keep a tally) and 30 reindeer. all i have is some adena, a few btels and a fkload of meat. I lost a rap and 40% in the rollback. >_<

This drop event is bullshit. They give it to us to make up for all that time and work we lost? Its only making me waste more time. I have been hunting these things since it was announced and ive only gotten 2btele.
Hardly a neat item. The least they could of done was make these animals drop some extra adena since it seems getting a scroll is like milking blood from an ogre. I am actually losing money doing this -__-

i thought this event couldnt get any worse. i was wrong. i busted my ass at LEAST 6 hours killed at LEAST 400 reindeer. If I see another'reigndeer gave you meat(3)' or reigndeer gave you fur' im going to murder someone. 0 nzels 0 ndais 0 bteles. but...as usual there are a select few who've gotten numerous nzels ndais...i think this is the only event where i've actually lost money, what an event.

I thought NC couldnt get any worse...how is 400 meat and 500 fur gonna offset my loss of 80k adena, 50% exp, and becoming unchao. Its tough to see hours wasted when i could have been sleeping. My God NC needs to do some growing up!

Hunt darn it? Alot of people like my self hunted for a good 6 hours straight and got nothing from those monsters. The drop rate must be close to that of ogre blood. How the hell does that make up for our lost time, items, and experiance?

im glad i didnt play any during that time, but im pissed for everyone that did. if they can make a mistake and say "woops lets roll it back" whos to say they wont wipe it or somethin? i havent heard a reason for the roll back, whats all the talk about cois and dragon slayers?? did they accidently drop cois everywhere or what? if dont know the story i guess i shouldnt be upset, just hope this kind of thing never happens again
oh, the "animal event" is a crap compensation for the roll back by the way.

I don't think it's because COI's and DS's were dropped. If that was the case then NC is stupid for rolling the whole server back when they could just remove those items. Lets me see...
Make a hand full of people unhappy for something they shouldn't have gotten.
OR
Piss off a bunch of people for something they worked for.

I really doubt they are that dumb. I'm guessing server hardware crash or burnout of some sort and they rolled back to the most recent backup.

alright, i take back anything bad i said about the rollback and the "event". i got 2 zels & 2 dais from deers so far, and 1zel and 1dai was from the same deer. im happy the rollback happened and im thankful for the "Random spawns of Reindeer, Fox, Bear, and Boar" having "a chance of dropping some neat items."

Have u ever made a school work.. and when u gona save that gets all erased? this can happen to everyone.. at least they do something in order to compensate the lost of exp/items :)

But it wouldn't be so strange if NC decide that any mage wont get any drops from fox/render/etc.. ;(

havent u learned? most lineage players are ungreatful. every single new event, 2 minutes into it people are complaining that it sux. it dont mater what NC does, people will be unhappy.

i just wish i woudlnt have goten banned from global on dep for 3 days for standing up for NC, telling everyone to quit "b!tching" about the event. (it was only about 5 minutes after the XMAS event was installed and all u heard was "all i got was a ghaste, wafer or brave!!!!! NC BLOWS!"

(the irony in this is that I, a person standing up for NC, gets banned from global for 3 days, while all the whiners and complainers, are still complaining all thru the day.

Early hunters don't get discouraged;

When this LOA announcement was first made early Monday
few of my pledgemates were getting anything but meat
from these MOP. Then around 8pm EST all kinds of
scrolls started dropping right after the ******* got
on global and repeated the rollback reward announcement.

So if you hunted early Monday and got discouraged,
try again as you may be pleasently surprised now.

Just my luck... I found a red nosed raindeer
but it was deep inside EF so it did not drop.

Haha...you whiners really sound ridiculous. The reason they did the rollback is because after the Christmas update, all the newb items disappeared. Skel boots, rings, etc. So in order for you guys to get them back they had to do the rollback. Never seen a more ungrateful group of people...sounds like it's time for some people to grow up...or have we all forgottn what the spirit of this season is?

Aidann, they put the christmas event up, in doing so all the loa specific items dissappeared, so they took the server down again, zapped it a little and stuck it back up. Everythign was fine, all loa items were there, then all of a sudden they said they were taking the server back down. It was down for about an hour then when they put it back up it was rolled back almost 10 hours. They had already fixed the items dissappearence problem before they rolled back. If you read the loa forum on lineage.com Capsturm says they had hardware problems. why should i pay for NC's neglegence in keep up on their hardware???

Well my reindeer tally has gone up to 130 and bears are at 112. still nothing except 4 bteles. ive stopped picking up the meat and fur long time ago. Maybe i should just hunt ogres, ill prolly get blood before ill get a zell from these stupid dropmops.

I imagin the ppl playing LoA are glad u dont play on their server since all u do is piss and moan about ur server, now u are complaining about a server u don't even play on. You would hate LoA anyway because it doesn't have global chat, it would kill you since the best you could do is stand by the cross in Giran and yell (about how much u hate the game.)

This was a major screw up, but NC-Austin at least had the guts to make a stand-alone US server. Let them make a few mistakes, if they keep it up LoA could become the premier US server.

HAHA U newbies on LOA deserve this. (If NC is gonna keep givign you gusy crap they migth as well just hand out 5 cois to every player on LOA instead of doing this. I saw a newbie (lvl 30 elf) with a +9 YUMI! COMEON im lvl 47 and ive got a +6 Yumi. NC probably gave it to him when he was hutnign on that newbie area.) Im getting tired of NC giving all u newbies crap. And nothign for people bove level 10.

when u begin on any server fresh
always a challenge
the challenge disappears once u reach lvl 40+
cuz u can easily upgrade a second and third character to lvl 40+ within a week or two with your items

the thing that happened was loa server was probably overwritten with part of the ken/dep setup
with that hom:s wich suppose to be rare were sold in shops and....... al normal gems were instead of bein worth XX adena baeck to the XXX price like on ken /dep:)
so some ppl sold all there lowest gems and made a huge profit

AS one of the people who bitched when it first happened let me be one of the ones who say thanks for the drops...i havent gotten anything yet but I have seen many newbies get a dai or a zel and be able to sell it...when you are first starting out that can make all the difference in the world...well done and sorry for the earlier comments...

Rubies Diamonds Emeralds sold for 500adena+
not 50adena like now

were sold in store so people who knew could buy them and wait and sell for 1mil each easily
Thats why they wiped...
nobody really complained about missing a skele boot or rings...
those things are worthless now....

+9Yumi? lol nc gave everyone 1mil to use to blow items... maybe he used that and got lucky... but they wiped after... to make loa a live server

Overall i think LoA is a harder server

and yes the event does suck...
made .10% off dear now at lvl 47

if u go out of ur way searchin for them and end up with nothin ofcoz u gonna be pissed
