Lineage Craze Takes on New Dimensions

This Korea Times article reassures the fears some people have that Lineage II will cause Lineage to be pushed aside by NCSoft. Looks like Lineage will still remain the flagship product according to company spokesperson Park Son-kyoung.

We are going to keep updating all the features of Lineage, focusing on players of the two-dimensional game while developing Lineage II into a realistic 3-D game world to provide a vivid action-packed experience to gamers who like to play in a different environment.

i'll probably go 2 lineage II while its in beta to @ least b able 2 say ive tried it but still probably stay in lineage I

i agree lineage 2 is really good and i cant resist, i just even bought a new computer just to play it, im really expecting the game and i hope i can get in to the beta testers

Only time will tell, personally, I don't think they will update Lineage as much once Lineage 2 comes out. With the little success of Lineage in North America, I am pretty sure they are gonna be more focused on Lineage 2 to try to break the US market.

yeah the article is in english. some ppl just don't want to read.

btw, last night, over 4000 ppl online on Vega Server(Japan) to siege Aden Castle.

half of them tried to kill Ken-chan and Kerenis, but as I was still there, both of them are still alive and kicking @$$. dead bodies everywhere.

I record half the battle with my viewcam.

this is out of topic but I'm just too excited about the siege.

btw NC in this article says about larger choice of class in lineage I...maybe engeineer will come in game then
i think NC will keep updating Lineage I like they did the last few years....1 majeur update (episode) every 6 months...they already have a huge staff focusing on Lineage II (huge at least compared to the one for lineage I) also dont forget that Line II will be for powerfull computers but in korea most people play in cybercafes and those places dont have the computers powerfull enough for Line II (well at least at the moment they dont)

Lineage 2 is so tottally different then lineage 1 , all that remains the same is the characters name and somewhat the looks, for the rest the changes are intense, from 2d to 3d , from point and click to really moving a char in 3d enviroment and look around..... i think not everyone will like lineage 2 because of this , especially the somewhat older userbase and girls (dont flame me on this one hehe) who do not only focus on graphics and likes a somewhat simple gameplay.....

I dont know if i trust nc's programming in this to , already quite a few bugs in lineage 1 wich are so irritating at times , i think with a 3d enviroment bugs become more frequent and harder to solve since i think 3d chars moving to all directions etc etc takes more time to fix...... we will just have to wait and see o.O ill check it out before i go playing it and i may end up playing both if possible

sigh .... if i can get enuff money to get a comp that can actually run lin2 ill be there, being that the comp i currently use can barely support Lineage
i hope i can get a good summer job, look foward to seeing u all in lineageII
Also my good friends Yuna & Yosshi will be playing lineage2 when it comes out

Lineage 1 uses a very old engine hopefully Lin2's will be better and NC learns from the erros they have from Lin1

I will play on Lineage 2 when the Beta start. Hopefully I will get rare item like Dragon Slayer(s) before they cancel quest the Lineage 1.

Lineage 1 has not been much of a success in the USA, so while they won't be shutting down the servers or anything that drastic, I think its safe to assume ALOT of NC's resources are going to go into Lineage 2... it is the future of their company. And many who say they won't switch now probably will once the Lineage 1 servers start to really thin out. Lineage has been great, but its getting old and gray, no amount of updates will change that. This is gonna be a helluva a year for MMORPG fans, Lineage 2, SWG, EQ2.... wonder if one of these can pull me away from my current favorite Dark age of camelot?

hmm... these games they are bringing out are kinda all similiar... they try to bost about the differances and uniqueness of there games but... they all the same really.

doesnt mean i aint gonna play lineage2... for sure!!!

i just think a gaming company needs to bring out something brand new... unique... gaming industry needs another revolution..... like... u had doom revolutionise fps... then diablo with that genre... mmorpgs are new... but getting old... what next??? whats gonan be the next "big" thing?

SirExodus I cant see why anyone would want to play a 3D mmorpg. it makes no sense to me. Lin 1 will just be so much simpler.

TheCollector- I like simplicity, but Lineage 1 is TO simple. DAOC is the perfect mmorpg IMO, well at least in terms of complexity, it has tons of skills/spells/classes which add a ton of variety and strategy but still it remains simple. Having to just click a monster and wait for it to die is just to basic, I enjoyed playing lineage for a long time but I was highly disappointed that they never added any "special" combat moves, knights are so friggin boring to play in Lineage, I don't know how you people do it.
