Christmas Events

Posted by Melantus on the forums:

Holiday items will be made available for (added to the inventory of) characters created on all active accounts, on our External Test server as of 2pm CST 12/20/02.

All 3 of my Test characters had a 6 Shot Mega Bam Firework, a Multi-Colored Popper, 3 Sparklers and a Red Sock. If you double-click the Red Sock, it turns into a present! I got 1 Potion of Bravery and 2 Greater Haste from my 3 characters. :) Also, it's snowing in all of Aden and Orc Santa is available so you can buy your friends Christmas cards. Currently, this is just on test, but I'm pretty sure it will go live early next week. ^^ -a

I'm sorry but I dont get the point of this event yet. It kinda sucks to me. I got 2 ghastes and a brave. I do know someone who got wafer though.

Thats just trash , nc always does something horrible for event , remeber fox thing only 3 around all aden and only 3 people could get th trash, gnoll super hard monster that drops trash , grim little reaper they took away all good items and the event only was like 3-4 days and only 1 day was great drops , all other event were just trash , who could be the guy that have this horrible ideas???? i could make beter event than nc.

Shoto, stop, Just read my other posts, if all nc did was give us super good weapons at EVERY event, then the game would be trash, not the events, everyone would have uber weapons and armor, the game wouldnt be fun anymore! Just go play the game and have fun!

3 words to describe this evnt: worst event ever! and o ya the "christmas cards" are just mail paper with a christmas background. From the 3 presents i got a brave g-haste pot and con clear thats the whole event.

I think i Christmas Day everyone should get a "present" and in side the present like the socking should be a gift. This gift should be 1m adena. Only 1 account gets 1m adena not each char. Personally I do not think this word hurt the economy. If you figure all the high level chars already have that much and will probably waste it withint minutes. All the low level chars will get "okay" armor and weapon.

You people should all quite your whining, you shouldn't be paying $15 a month just on hopes that NC will give you super items at holidays. Every event has had someone complaining. There's too much favour to rich people, there's too much favour to poor people, there's nothing for these, there's nothing for those.

#s 13, 15, 16, 17 sum it up nicely; nice one peeps, gl hunting :D

#19, check out real life. Christmas is commercial unless you go to church, and (most?) other religions don't have the whole thing about celebrating the birth of their messiah; what's christmas to them?

#29 - yeah, $15 a month. Didn't say anything in the tos etc about events, this is a bonus; if you don't like it, just ignore it and hunt on.

#25 complements #7, ty both for being positive :) - my next point being christmas day is less... interesting if you know everything inside the boxes already :)

I think any event is Fun, even if you dont get anything good out of it.

Too bad ill miss it as ill be on holidays, but i can open my sock when i come back, something to look forward too, even if it is just clears and braves.

Let me just say, I took newbies lvl 12 ~ 25, into Dv to hunt for Gnolls, and it was an awesome event. It got people to work together, and hunt together. You can't win the lotto all the time. Sheesh.
NCsoft has grown up in the last year. Remember last year? We had NPCs and raindeer, nothing else. A sock, god I would have killed to have one of thoses, a greater haste potion and etc, if you don't want it give it to a newbie or sell it.
Man, I remember when NCsoft was struggling to make game workable. Huge turn around you got US only advancements in LOA, you got events. And the fox event, fox event was a good event, good PVP battles for foxes, hell even had a knock down drag out fight with two DK morphs (which we made teleport a few times).
You are in the golden age , wake up and be grateful before I begin to hit you with my cane.

# 38, i agree, when FI came out, enemies, friends and the like teamed up to beat the odds, and had fun doing it! And to the "whiners" out there, if u don't like the events, QUIT, leave more for those of us that enjoy the game in it's entirety (ms?). The Holloween event rocked, at least it was something new while we waited for episode 12. The DK event was pretty far out there and the sneaky fox event WAS pretty lame. more money was cool (til we spent it). But as I said, NC doesnt HAVE to do anything, at least they are doing this, play around with yer presents til the event is over then move on, or OUT.
Geez, get a grip.

I just dont see why they kept this event a secrate...
Im sorry but no event IS better then this. The best you can get out of this is 3 c-greens. Wow 1 hour and 30 mins and your holiday gift is gone. Would it of been so much to ask to hand out an enchant scroll to each char instead? That would of at least been a usefull gift. But no, condesed greens and clears. In a second your "gift" which you have been waiting all month for is gone.
No other event in lineage history has been glorified like this one, and its such a let down.

If you spoke with any villager NPCs before Christmas day they'll give you a Christmas stocking. After Christmas day it automatically turned into a present, based on your lawful points.

you guys are pretty silly- use some commmon sense, obviously the stocking thing is just a small part of the event- as previously given away by some reporter schmo- the event involves rednosed reindeers and santa claus but has clearly not been put on test yet.

re:#38. Heya Lost, that makes me think how cool a increased mop spawn rate event would be. cooperation would be born on dep. lol. I seem to remember reading about a lvl-up event in korea last year where they gave out prizes to some. Hehe I wonder if that's on the approved event list for nc-austin for us this upcoming year? lol And I wonder if they had a increased spawn rate for their event?

Increased spawn rate done for a week would be perfect. lol no increased drop rates. just the sheer volume of mop is enough for drop percentages to increase. :)

I like this kind of events... but I would preffer DK event or the one in heine that drops were so nice!

The only event that I didn't liked at all was the halloween on.. I make more money hunting that getting seeds ��' just a waste of time (grim reapers were great ;)!!)..

At least this one u dont lose your time, just click the sock and yup! here u have a little present ;)

and snow is great and fun!!! YUHUUU!!

I must say im pretty disappointed in the event. Its not that i expected huge drops or something else, i just hoped for some better graphical things or some practical jokes or so.. Dunno, the snow doesnt look so nice and it even gets annoying over time, to be honest...

But anyway. It wont get in the way of a happy christmas, though some other r/l things did get in my way.. But hell, Merry Christmas everyone! Enjoy the event.

Well, I'm glad that there are some people mature enough to appreciate the lil things. It makes me sick reading all of these posts from whining lil immature brats about how every event sux. Keep in mind that NCI doesn't have to do anything for the holidays. It makes me happy that they at least are putting forth some kind of effort to do something special for us during this holiday season. Just think of all the hours of programming that someone worked hard at to bring us these events. I for one am very appreciative, even if I only get 3 greens from the whole event. Christmas is a time for happiness and a season to spend time with the people that U care about. I don't know about the rest of U, but my pledgemates are like an extension of my family. I know I have only played lineage for 8 or 9 months, but I have made friendships that will last a lifetime.

To the staff of NCI, keep up the good work. There are some of us out there that do appreciate your hard work and effort. U can't please everyone. I realized that a long time ago. There are people out here that are thankful for the lil things... Viva NC!!!
