FunkyColdAdena Spotlight |
FunkyColdAdena, or FCA if you prefer. Are these the guys that come over to your mom's house and track mud all over her carpet and run off with your kid sister? Or simply the most misunderstood pledge in the history of Aden? Prince Bizmarkie feels it's the latter, so I took some time to sit down with him and learn a little bit more about FCA.
The pledge started two years ago, with just a few friends who wanted a pledge that wouldn't fade away after a few weeks. They kicked around many symbols before they decided on the American Flag in what was a unanimous decision. Bizmarkie explained to me that their main goal is to remain a long-term group of friends that want to have fun playing Lineage. "We try to keep it fun and fresh in our chat and in our game. Very few of us have quit as a result." Biz told me.
FCA enjoys a full complement of 40 members at all times, and has a waiting list for the main pledge. As a result Biz encourages interested players to join one of his three sister pledges. FCA4ever, FCA4Eva, and FCA4Life. There are no level or Armor Class requirements for joining, but Biz says that other members usually refer people, and that loyalty to the pledge is paramount. "I don't care at all about level, equipment, etc." Biz says. "We have taken level 5 characters before, it's all about the person behind the keyboard." The average level in the main pledge is around 46, and Biz hesitated when I asked him about the strongest members of each class. "We've got so many quality players, it's hard to single any out. Everyone works together so well that the total is much greater than the sum of the parts." He also says that since the pledge has been together so long, there is no formal hierarchy. People in the pledge just assume natural leadership roles, and there is very little need for any sort of disciplinary measures. Biz is usually on-line and available to make any major pledge decisions.
When asked about allies Bizmarkie leaned back in his personal chair in the FCA house, and grinned sheepishly. "That's a tough one." He said. It seems that for the majority of their existence FCA has shunned any notion to tying themselves with any political body. RedDragonClan has always been a trusted ally, but as far as any traditional, sieging allies FCA feels that these ties change and break so often that they have decided to be autonomous in the main. Biz did remark that they have respect for many different pledges, including one's that they have fought against in the past. Here I paused and looked at Biz "Umm wouldn't that be most of the pledges on the server?" I remarked. "Yea I guess" he replied while chuckling "But many of them fight with dignity, win or lose." At this point I was glad Biz had posted two knights at the door and Sharparrows on the roof. Compendium reporters are usually pretty safe when conducting interviews, but I had made it clear to FCA that I had no intention of becoming a victim of some other pledges vendetta against them. "Well, thanks Biz. I have what I need." I said as I scraped back my chair and started for the door.
"Hey wait a minute." He called. I turned back, my blue eyes level with his shimmering green. "We ARE the most misunderstood pledge in Aden, but we like it that way. Love or hate us the people have to admit there is never a dull day around FunkyColdAdena."

Bizmarkie and FCA would like to thank Lineage Compendium for the excellent information they continue to provide on the best MMORPG that exists. |
