LINEAGE PROMOTIONS

The Dragon Hunt

A rumbling tremor shook the ground, disturbing the blackened rock shards underfoot. Steam rose from the volcanic vents lining the path, eager to cook any wayward adventurers. Up ahead of the party, skipping lightly over the heated rock, two elves scouted the distant molten terrain. The female Elf, shouldering her yumi bow, turned back towards the motley party. She held up a hand in warning.

“Everything ahead looks clear,” she called, “but keep your guard up. We can’t see around the next bend just yet…”

Cutting back across the path, the male elf sidled up behind her to speak low in her ear. She nodded. His face deadly serious, the elf turned to look out over the assembled fighters. “He’s there. I can hear him around the bend. Are you ready?”

Nodding, the assorted knights raised swords and shields bathed blood red in the glowing light of molten lava. Wizards began to quietly recite incantations as their spells of protection and power swirled colorfully around the group. The elves nocked arrows in their bows, raising them at the ready. Finally, the prince and princess eyed each other and nodded imperceptibly. En masse and with a collective battle cry, the group charged forward around the bend to Valakas.

7:00 PM CDT. Friday, April 25th. The Lair of Valakas. Depardieu. Ken Rauhel. Lands of Aden.

The dragon will be waiting for you. Will you dare to show up?

yeah, especially if you negative cowards show up. I mean for goodness sakes dont shoot it down before any has tried. You guys have no idea if the dragon will end or not, you have never fought it. And dont say that even if the whole server shows up, the dragon wont end. Thats exactly when dragons are meant to end, with 50-100 ppl wearing it down. So everyone reading this: Please ignore these negative cowards. Theyre the same idiots who hate every event and the same chickens who wont show up. I think this even could be fun, and if it shows that with alot of teamwork we can beat dragons, I think its definitly worth it.

Just my 2 cents. Ignore me if you like

So basicly there takeing what was a normal part of the game to be able to go and attempt to fight a dragon and turning it into a pointless event...How about next event make it so all characters can benefit and not only Knight class -_-;; I know all those Mages and bow Elfs out there are gonna get a bunch of amazing drops from the dragons *IF* they do end....The only way Mage and bow Elf is if Knights who get drops share them out...I would have preferred a freakin deer and rabbit event over this crap --;

Just my thought on it ^^;;

k...i have a question...is this the first apperence of valakas on the live servers(not including DM)? If it is...im pretty sure that NC is just trying to test it out...i wouldnt call it a event if it wasnt anything special...i would call it an event if they lower the lvl of valakas maybe 10 lvls or something...i guess it would be nice if the server ended it...but i dont play anymore so..heh...anyways...gl trying to kill it

we all going to die cause of grief play you know there will be mages and elfs healing and hasting it hehe and pledges fighting and people getting eaten all at the same time hehe

now if they made the lair a combat zone or even a pk zone that would be cool so ken people can kill people that are griefing hehe other wise I don't think it will end on ken and on dep an loa for that same reason greif play

Well, hopefully all of U negative people won't show up. U can hear about the drops from those of us who have the Bawls to attempt to kill the dragon. There are tactics and strategies that can be used to protect yourself and raise your chances of ending Valakas. Basically what I'm saying is... Don't knock it before U try it! At least give it a chance before U start complaining.
If everyone on Dep can put aside their differences for a day I guarantee Valakas will end dai...

everyone who says anything negative means they tried it before. i havent heard of very many dragons dying since update, if any. elves and mages can waste exp and get no drop and if it dies maybe knight will get one, gl dont loose too much exp for nothing

Wanna know whats funny? Valakas was unkillable for our servers when anthras and fafu where still in their newbie stage (ie, killable by players)... we dont stand a chance... but that isnt gonna stop me from going ^_^

I would love to go. I want to say something but it's not meant to be a negative statement. Remember Ken Rauhel and Cerenis? They're lvl.75 and 72. Yea Ken has 770hp and it took us SO long to kill it. Val has 6500 ><. But I think if we work more together than the first Aden siege, we can certainly try. See everyone on Ken there =).

no one can say its pointless or hopeless until you fight the dragon. you don't know what changes they've made to valakas since he's been taken out of the game, and there's only 1 way to find out. everyone has said antharas and fafurion were just as impossible...and i've killed both & seen both killed before. if your lvl 52 or 60 or whatever and you don't want to lose that exp thats so hard to get, i don't blame you, but all of you on this thread are not 50+ so no reason to chicken out. if you can't take the heat, stay out of the kitchen.

Raveen, ok mr high and mighty tool. You obviously don't know what you're talking about. When was the last time you attacked Anth or Faf? I have. The area attacks kill everyone on the screen in 2 seconds. It doesn't matter if there are 5 people, 30 people or 150 people. How many DKs do you think are willing to sacrifice 3-4 deaths (or more)?

If I'm wrong, then so be it, but Faf's stats are posted and unless they are severely reduced (like in deathmatch), he ain't gonna end.

Tower of Oren prepare for the bombardment of mages and the like..........
get the printing press ready to have an excess of lvl 1 scrolls for sale.
If most would put their mind to it and think what do mages do in a drgaon hunt?
the answer heal and ebolt.

the sulotion....lvl 1 scrolls scribed with the ebolt, ice arrow spell
so mages can save mp for healing.

Anywho im an elf just thought that would be a helpful idea for those that are going to go.(brought to me by the fact i cant sell back the scrolls >.<)

G/l on the dragon hunt, i may be there/ may not be there dont know yet.

oh btw...skin just went up to 2500 in weldern/giran area for those that havent thought about it already. my advice get skined for free then logged out on fv beach till 2mins before the hunt ^^;

actually valakas has over 10 000 hp....way to go nc, this sounds alot like the first demon hunt on LoA, where captsturm gathered like 100 ppl in weldern at LEAST to go to valakas lair(where he spawned demon) and then on the way there, at least 3/4 of the ppl died to phoenix..so captsturm ended up helping us end demon, the only knight who survived was Devil and he got a tsu from it >.<

U can be damn sure that I won't go.
#1 I'm a lvl 49 elf and I don't like dying at this lvl ....
#2 As mentioned earlier elves and mages don't get any drops at all cous the knights are the ones doing the most dmg and whats more they are the closest to him.
#3 He prolly won't end cous on Dep there is going to be grief play for sure since there is soooo much bad blood on this server.

I might take a low lvl char there just to see the carnage there is sure to be, but the only victorious creature on this day is Valakas so cheers Mr dragon hope u had fun ;)

It's a nice way of getting players to actually try to kill a Dragon, since you're all so afraid of dieing in a game. Thumbs up for NCSoft. All of you need to stop hating.

I'd like to add that I don't see anyone complaining about Princes and Princesses not getting any good drops. It's always about whiny Elves and Mages. Selfish bastards.

Half the server will probably show up. Valakas will die for sure.

cuz I know ppl on dep r rdy to heal the dragon non-stop
not because of their hatred of whatever side

Jeez people. In some of your eyes every single event is a horrible catastrophe. What do you want them to do for an event? Have a gm stroll around Giran square handing out free forgotten scrolls? You don't get something for nothing in this game, and i personally enjoy any event that differs from the ordinary.

Ive been playing for close to a year now and i still dont have any power items persay, but that doesn't mean i cry for an item drop event every time they try to do something fun. And thats what this is...FUN. Ill be at the dragon on dep, taking my shots just like all the rest who aren't whiners.

Note to all the elfs and mages out there...we are responsible for rez...so bring lots...

By the way, many of the people that were hitting ken & cerenis were in pledges that werent declared... Only members of the pledges that declared could damage ken & cerenis...
Another note to U whiners, does NC have to give us an event for every damned holiday? Quit complaining all the time. I have been playing this game for 1 year this month. For me the game has only gotten better. If you're not having fun quit, or play a different game, or start a new char. Don't keep doing the same thing that you've been doing, it's obviously not making U happy...

"NC is doing this to make us leave", HAHAHAHA, that's for sure ! We're paying to play, we're paying their salary: they want us to leave !!!!! C'mon, don't be so negative. Every event lots of people are whinning coz they didn't get the big drop they excpected, well if you don't try, you don't get. Seems simple to me ;)
Every event i was in for the 1 year and 2 month I play, I got a nice item. Why ? not because i'm lucky, just because i've tried.
Last time I saw faf on Ken we were 15 to go there ... sure we all died.

If we all go we can kill him. If we die, who cares ? We all die, sometimes just because of stupidity. If we end him with no drops ... who cares ? It was fun. If we don't end him : we are loosers, lets kill 102589 goblins to lvl :)

Oh just one more thing ... this event is made for US players only due to the time it is taking place. Strange nobody noticed it ? For European players it is like 2 AM.
Seems like people are blaming NC depending on the occasion, no schedule blame this time.

DM Valakas ends all the time on Kor servers. I don't see why having weakened Valakas spawned in an easily accessible area will make it any harder to kill, considering that more than 20 people will be hitting it at once, and that there is no 5 minute time limit.

I think it might be fun to try to end Val. Even if it is successful i hope the knights are in a sharing mood otherwise it would be pointless for mages and bow elfs to go and support them. It would need to be a team effort and a team payout for a truly successful hunt.

Hmmmmmm....... "IF"we managed to kill the Valakas....... what about the drops???? this should be on test and yes valakas has been up befor for like 2 weeks than he was taken out. I went to the first attempt on vlakas and we got owned by 1 meteor strike... it was nothing like the weak one in deathmatches now.

I find it typically annoying of NC to do yet another event which favors knights. Just like the deer event, can you stop a knight from running up and hitting your mop without going chao? No. Now knights again will get treated like princes and as normal all the rest of us don't get squat. As for Dep, if the knights hitting him are also keeping all others from being there (like pledge blocks entrance while only thier knights/pledge fight Vala) of course vala will get waters from sneeky coi elfs HINT. Only fair then. I sure hope everyone drops thier personal garbage for this one and let all get in there and enjoy though, but I doubt it. I will attend planning to enjoy this with all, friend or foe. I do think it will be kinda cool with me dead or not to get a pic of some one like whitehand or corps bammin away at that sucker!
I also don't see why the US servers get treated so second rate getting everything Korea already has had for a year or so is like soooo special when it hits US.
If they un nerfed ac on elves and mages and made a boss that broke apart at a certain point into say little dragons running/flying all over so that all classes had a prayer at a drop then I would call that fair.
I still can't figure out why they hell if a griffon or harpie is flying why I can't point into the air so to speak and hit it. Rather dopey and unrealistic to me.

yeah the people in pledges who do get drops if htey have formed spliting drops then they will split who said this had to be just one person after another?

Think of this as a huge pledge hunt besides if vala dies and hte pledge that was there getting in most of the hits they might take a turn for being stronger.

I like the idea of vala going to be back in the game...

Gezzei rember where all half the people complaind that vala was out and they wanted to fight him. so they bring him back and low and behold wth we here blah blah i dont want to die. if you dont want to die dont show up. Some of the people who might show up probaly wont be there for the drops but for the knowladge that THEY help end a dragon. Great job nc bring forth more events :D

i already see this event on dep...: AA and A fighting eachother by one of them attacking val and the other slowing ppl, hasting val, cancelling ppl, healing val, attacking mages/elves, attacking knights hitting val, etc.

i have fought all of the dragons in the game besides lindivor and vala cause nc took him out i know how fast i can die and what not i am still very intrested in this event. and i am sure otehrs like me have fought dragons before ^.^

I'd just like to clear something up that many of you have mistaken. You cannot haste, heal, water, or do any magic like that on a dragon, so you can stop worrying about that. My other point I'd like to bring up is the point of Lineage. Think about it, the point of the game to you...what is it? It's not to become the strongest player (although it helps) and it's not to hunt for the rest of your Lineage career. The entire objective in the game is to seige, and to hunt dragons, and if your not willing to complete one of the very VERY few objectives, then I suggest you quit wasting your time on a game, where your doing...well...nothing.

As long as everyone keeps to the goal of killing Valakas, and not worrying about any alliance issuses or anything like that, I believe we can end it. I will be there with my mage healing/ressing anyone that needs it regardless of any alliance matters. Just remember to keep everything out but the main goal of ending the dragon. As for drops, as long as you survive when the dragon ends, you have a chance of getting something, so quitcher b*tchin.

Valakas is on test now...you'd think ppl on test wont have alot to worry about...but fact is not many ppl daring to get inside lair, and ppl are cursing valakas on global . I took my lvl 6 knight inside lair and took one hit at valakas be4 being crushed to death by a meteor strike. Thx NC tho for the 150k adena u gave away... bought some armour pots for knight ^^. Oh btw he was standing right next to entrance so not a lot of chance of grouping inside lair be4 attack

on dep 1000+ ppl end many times cuz its end event.

on LOA its lvl 20 dragon so its end in 20 second event
