STR and carrying capacity, continued
Based on an article on Lineage Playforum (http://community.playforum.net:8080/bbs/prog/column?action=read&iid=10051003&kid=1184), a STR 21, CON 18 (level 51) Mage, Ogoongi, on the Korean servers has a different story than what Poseidon and NC have been saying about limited effects of attributes.

Using a STR ammy, Power Gloves, Staff of Force and STR spell, a STR 21 Mage can have every possible strength from 21 to 32, inclusive. This mage loaded himself up to 100% and then looked at his capacity from 21 to 32, and noticed that for every 2 STR points, his weight decreased, as expected. However, at STR 28 (*not* 25) is when his carrying capacity hit a peak.

Based on this information, as well as research we have done on the effect of STR and CON on carrying capacity, we think we know the story.

The limit of 25 is not the whole story. Instead, we believed the most a character can carry is limited to 3600. With CON of 21, STR 25, your capacity is 3600. So, adding any further points to STR will have *no effect*. With a CON of 18, STR 28, your capacity is also 3600, so any further points do not increase your capacity. As Opethal put it in the comments below, if your STR + CON = 46, you are carrying the most you can carry.

We believe this to be what the level 51 mage and Poseidon have been experiencing these strange limits. However, this opens the question up again. Is there actually a limit of 25? Does it affect damage? We'll keep you posted.

This chart (also found in the Attributes section in the menu on the left), represents every possible STR/CON combination and the amount of weight that can be carried, based on our current understanding.

Interesting..so it seems when you get a total con and str of 46, you're topped out for weight. Will be interesting to see what kind of affect there is on damage, and maybe also if there's a limit for hp regen.

A friend and I tested between 25 mod and 29 mod, no visible difference between the two either. Historically my str knight seemed to roll low dmg difference between it and con knights when spelled up, doing damage tests with the same equipment, which confused me as well...I'm not sure there's a dmg bonus over 25.

I did a test with my friend and there IS a difference. He was at 29 maxed and hit me several times, then we retested where he took off the pg and retryed. The difference was about 1hp per hit. The difference shouldnt be that big, but there is a difference. Try using a weak sword, not a strong one, plus take off all ac for the person u are hitting, and overweight the person so they dont heal. You will notice a difference pretty much everytime.

May it be possible that the base character stat is softcaped at 25, not including items and magic?? I doubt NC soft made it where a 17 str knight with pg, amulet and magic str would hit the same as a 20 str knight with the same additions.

while that chart is preaty and hard to use, why not just a simple STR+CON = capacity 1D table?

B-ES dropped along time ago from shelobs, and mage base stats used to be lower, so that character has simply been around since they ether rolled, or right after they added stat selection.
