Announcing the Lineage Fan Item Contest!

Have you ever wanted to have a real impact on the games you play? Well now you can.

Announcing the Lands of Aden Server Item Design Contest.

Think of an idea for a new and interesting item in Lineage. Give it purpose and attributes. Heck, even name it! Then send your idea to us. NCsoft staff will review the submissions, and a winner will be chosen.

The winner of this contest not only gets the glory of winning and their name on our website. The item will be introduced into the game and the NPC who gives the item out will be named after the winner!

Basically you think up an item you'd like to see in the game. It needs to be something that would fit within Lineage, and make sense. It needs to follow the general strengths and abilities of what already exists within Lineage.

In other words, no +300 mana rings, no +12 swords. Something that we could actually put in and still keep a balance.

If we choose the item, then the item and/or the NPC that hands it out will either be named after your character (or an acceptable alternative) or named by you. Again, the naming must be acceptable. No swords named xX-KillaMasta-Xx. It needs to be a name that fits within Lineage fiction. You dont see any NPC's named R2D2. We will work with the winner to choose acceptable alternatives if their first suggestions dont work.

How about a ring of haste? These would be pretty rare, as usual, and would fit into the whole RPG standard thing. Except... difficult to make into an NPC quest. Unless it was by a load of ingredients...

How about an item called a Seeing Eye or Crystal Ball

It could weigh 300 or something.. the kind of thing people dont carry around with them, but rather leave in storage.. but it could be something that you can briefly see any of your bookmark locations w/o using mana or wasting a b-tele. IE: Boss hunters could look, rather than travel, to see if the boss had come out yet. There was a level 10 spell that was supposed to do this, but as I remember the casting cost was rediculous... not to mention that it takes FOREVER for mages to get spells activated. (They claim it's to keep balance... but that's one that would NOT affect the other classes, even if they DID enable it.) Ohwell. let's stick to my awesome idea of the Crystal Ball.

sword of dark soul (acquired by going to hell and survived for total 15minutes)

usable class: all characters with alignment -10k to max chao, level 40 to use
material: minerals???( not sure what to call the main one as it should be made from ash of astagio, diamond (all types), rubies (all types))
description: the more chaotic u get the more chance u'll have hit the max dmg of that sword in the dice roll (like when max chao u'll get 12 90% of the time on small o.o), can be safely dai-ed to +6, will not drop the sword if approach max chao, BUT increase the chance of dropping any other items+spells by 3 times; increase normal speed to 150%
weight: 80

lol "sealed can of whoop-ass"

dropped by fi drake, must be unsealed using an ancient scroll. when unsealed randomly gives you a blessed +9 weapon(from club to b-tsu).

haha fear my +9 b-club.

They will never do anything like this but oh well.

for elves hmm...lv 45+ quest item...

elven elemental crystal mail
(if the elf change lines, the armor automatically change element, but same + regardless, with auto-adjusted bonuses)

Scimitar of the Drow; Elf only. 10/10, 1d20 to undead and 1d20 to demon, hastes wielder. Requires one body of longsword, 500 orihairuken, top quality daimond, top quality ruby, top quality emerald, top quality saphire, one blood of ogre.

Crossbow of the Drow; Elf only. 3/3, one handed, fires poison arrows (5/5, 10% to poison target) when out of arrows. Requires one ancient bow gun, 3 top quality emeralds, 2 top quality rubies, 100 orihairuken, and one blood of ogre.

one i would realy like is:

Masamune: 12/12 +2 to hit +1 damage. gives user a 10% extra regan rate (maybe) enchantable to +6 like standerd.

Mainly because my charecter on loa is called Sephiroth :P kekeke
would make me feel complete o.o, and shouldnt break ne copyright laws (hopefully)

looks: looks like a katana but with a grey/black handel and a shineyer blade.

Three thoughts:

1. I am sure this wont benefit mage class, as it seems in general NC general direction now is lowering this classes benefits and unbalancing it.
2. Even so, I admit this 'event' needs to be something for all classes for it to be fair.
3. VERY nice to see NC USA going away from Korea and doing their own stuff. Congrats at LoA NC team.

So, people, make your suggestions NOT class-specific... also non-elite items would be nice. Many of use don't play 8 hours per day nor have 5 million adena lying around. I would LOVE to see more items to make the general population happier/more fun, not elite items like we saw on FI, which make the already rich, richer (more powerful, more drops, more rich, more powerful, etc, repeat).

pd. Along the same lines, make this EXTREMLY fun event non-LoA specific... can you do that NC? (deviate other servers from Korean items and updates?)

gigi #15 that is a GOOD idea. I think that the game would GREATLY get benefitted by having the chaotic side of the game considered as a valid (And fun) way to roleplay. It needs items like your sword. What the sword needs to do is, for chao characters, make them STAY chaotic when it is wielded, so you dont loose chao as you hunt mops... etc. I would LOVE to see chaotic players, pledges, etc, being BAD and GOOD characters hunting them down (make killing a chao character rewarding expwise (and BAD for chao char), so we get to hunt them... make being chaotic have unique advantages but terrible consequences (item drops for once is BAD... more so hell lol)

How bout Ghast Gloves (them quick lil buggers)
+0 AC - safely enchanted to +4
Increase attack rate (melee missle and casting, but not walking speed) by like 50-100%
usable by all classes

Creation: Same as power gloves except with 10 g-hastes and some new ghast item instead of blood of ogre.

That would be yummy I think.

I've got an idea, how about instead of having player make up new items, you just ask the Korean NCSoft team to put some of the missing items back into the game? I mean items like Ranseur, Voulge, Dwarvish Spear, Unicorn Horn, Cloak of Displacement, Oilskin Cloak, T-Shirt of Luck, Axe of Destruction, Paladin Mail, Claymore, Rune Sword, Circlet, etc. Making a more plausible way for Prince/ss to get a Crown would be nice too.

Antharas's diary, 3 ac, non-elven item, useable by mage & prince. +1 con, +1 int & +1 charisma. Requires 10 green scales, Dk's rib cage, spartoi's skull & 1k hard leather. Allows mp regen when overweight. Totem orcs' cast speed unless overlapped by a better morph's casting speed. Each 7 paces you take you get 1 mp (for thinking on your feet).

Also allows you to write bp letters (not stationaries) for free.
If you have talkative prince(ss) then get ready to trash these everyday from your inventory.

This is my idea that i sent this morning: a sword 16/15, 2 handed, weight 175 (looks like the great sword), +30% poison resistance and it is called the "curse of the ramia", lvl 25+ only, for all class', to obtain this you would have to slay one of each ramia to get blue and green scale or ramia (looks like the dragon scale/silver serphant scale graphics) and then also a nail of arachnevil elder (looks like the shelob's nail aka arachnevil from the red knight sword quest) to combine these peices for the 30% poison resistance, to get the body of the weapon , you would have to kill a doppleganger to retrive the cursed sword of the doppleganger, 1/1,weight 40,non transferable, lvl 25+ only, and have the npc combine all of these components together to create the "curse of the ramia". The bonus about this is the 30% poison resistance, the 16/15 for attack (str mages would love this), and a new quest. The down side is that its heavy, 2 handed, and lands of aden server only. If my idea were to be accepted, i would want the npc named toshidin.

Santa, I want a:

Ability to Reflect 1/10 Damage Recieved Onto The Aggressor.

I didn't add in any + int/str/dex cause 1) we got int.shield 2)str/dex spells. Also, the reflected damage could make some higher levels get annoyed from picking on newbs. And for those of you who dont know what a pouldron is... its the thingies that are put on each shoulder. NO they are not shoulder pads. There are 2 pouldrons in a set, which is why I gave -2 ac and enchanted 4 times safely (2 times/pouldron). I figured, the weapons are already in the game for everyone (expensive though), and people always need more ac. This may make Knights more beefed, but that's why I put +3 hit bonus.
We dont need any more weapons or speed enhancers, since that's what lvl 53 is all about. I'd say put in the rest of the stinking level 8-10 spells, but I can only ask for 1 thing >=).

Europe, and certain places (Quebec being one) has odd internet laws , so they are excluded , some places (in Europe) require money or deposit for the contest.
