Effect of INT on MP reduction.
We're trying to get the exact affect of INT on MP reduction in spells. Qwazin and I compared notes, so here's what we found.
  • Elf - INT 12 - no change. We're not sure if this applies to INT 12 mages too.
  • Mage - INT 18/19 - the MP discount is equal to the level of the spell, minus 1. So, for example, Eruption is a level 6 spell, 6-1 = 5, so there is a 5 MP discount on casting it. Eruption on my INT 18 mage only costs 15 MP. Hijiko verified the same effect on Dep with an INT ammy.

update: Okay, we have a theory, and here it is.

The MP discount is always ( spell level of the spell being cast - 1 ). So, a level 8 spell would have a MP discount of 7. It doesn't matter what class you are.

HOWEVER, your INT can limit this. Here's our theory:

MAX Discount0-1-2-3-4-5-6-7

Example: an INT 17 mage is casting Mass Teleport. Mass Teleport is a level 9 spell, so the spell discount is -8 MP, however, since INT 17 is limited to -5 MP max, the discount is -5 MP.

erupt states it uses 23/9

wierd.

oops, no, now it's back normal again. they mustve fixed it in that little mini update.

It helps, but I was expecting more of a bonus for an 18 int mage. How much difference do it makes? I think it compensates with SOM crippled for me, and it is more or less the same....

As the AC change, they had to offset it (save for knights...)

Sorry but i think this update is useless. Who is lvl 40+ doesn't care about 10mp more for one spell. They have a som and can get that 7mp back in no time. Another useless update :/

computerguy, thats wut i was just thinking. Stalag and fire arrow are lvl 2 spells, and both normally cost 3 mp. That seems like more powerful versions of e-bolt, and with the new update theyll only cost 2 mp

Who cares what the MP discount is,
It's so low, it won't change anything.
I tried my int/wis mage last night,
and her -AC is so ineffective now
that all this MP nonsense is stupid.

Yet another sucky update from NCSoft

First they build up our -AC with the ac/dex
update, then they take it away by making -AC
less effective on Mages.

Are these people on drugs or what?

I have Stopped Recurring billing. I feel that NC is destroying the game that we all used to truly enjoy enough to play 10+hrs/day. I recommend that anyone else who is feeling the same way do the same.

1) Go to lineage main website
2) Click on Account Management --> Manage Account
3) log in with your game l/p
4) Next to "Billing Information" click on "Update Payment Information"
5) Click on "Cancel"

As long as you're not using the Mac client (or did they fix that bug) you will still be able to play until the time for which you have already paid runs out. This is the ONLY way to send NC a message. Obviously, writing emails and posting on boards does nothing.

YOU DO NOT LOSE ITEMS OR CHARACTERS IF YOU STOP PAYING!! All accounts can be re-activated once they get their act together, assuming we all havent moved on to something more stable/fun.

dunno.... Int 18 mage here, and I get to caste TONS more erupts in combat against larger mops.... or course, I have to be careful, as its not so easy to pump pots anymore.... BUT it does make a huge difference..

Here's a suggestion for those of you without imagination... LOL, have VT quickkeyed.... erupt erupt erupt.... let it get close and VT your' align away!!!

18 con 18 int 12 cha BEST mage hehe , it is cause you get like 7-8mp a lv up but have good SUMMON good HP good SP and with Mage Set and MP Belt(i know expencieve) who need 2-3 extra mp a lv. Anyways Amer about MP reduction my mage 15 int gets good reductions on spells expect HEALING spells , HEALING spells no MP or HP reduction but my other spells have MP AND HP reduction , anyone knows why I don't get bonus on HEALING spells ?

So, the basic idea is cast spell for 5 less mp and use mana staf that sucks a little less mp. Um, I'm not the brightest buld on the tree but isnt that kinda like taking it from one place and putiing it in another?

Its kinda like having no change at all, just window dressing. My head hurts, I think I will just quit this game and find the ones they are trying to become. That way at least I'll get decent graphics as a bonus. This update sucks the llama's ass.

I should get 1 discount on lev. 2 spells and 2 on lev. 3 (lev. 31 currently) since I'm a int 15 elf, but I have absolutely no changes to any spells.
