What I'm working on...

Well, two Lineage-related things have been occupying my time. Levelling up on test and this thing:

Real-Life Picture Browser

Due to the popularity of the R/L Pic thread on our brother site, Templar Gaming, we've decided to help them out and set up a database where people can quickly browse pictures of each other on the web.

We had this system going a few months ago, but it was a well-kept secret. So, we've cleared the database and made it voluntary. Just upload your picture and you will have access to everyone elses.

This is supposed to be for fun. I had to really think long and hard about this idea, because I know some people are going to try to upload nasty pictures, or fake ones etc. So, here's the deal: We'll do it as a trial. If most people upload pictures of themselves, then yay. I'm proud of us. But if people start uploading crap, I'm going to start banning accounts from the site and potentially just take down the whole system.

So just to be clear: mess with the picture section and you will not be able to visit Lineage Compendium. I will ban your IP, plain and simple. If you have nothing positive to add to the pic section, then just leave it alone. k? :)

I just don't want it to be abused. :(

Captions, comments section and support for multiple pictures coming soon. Your suggestions (as usual for everything on the whole site) are appreciated, just shoot me an email: web@lineagecompendium.com.

hey amer, you should add a shortcut to the page on the bar on the left of the screen...

cool idea, I was getting tired of reading 15+ pages or posts at templargaming just top see everyone pics... this will be a more organized way...

oh and I'd post my pic up here, but I don't have one yet... I might get out my digital camera sometime soon to take a pic of myself, but it'll be hell finding it in this mess... lol

Is there a way so that browsing is thumbnails (the size they are now) and clicking shows the pic full size. I know I'm a chunky stud but my photo is squashed so I look even fatter than I really am.

Other than that, I hope this goes well. It could be a lot of fun.

Everyone has to put up a picture to view them. If you put up a bullcrap picture your gunna get a asswoopin. If you dont crop your picture then the picture itself just gets scrunched up. So if its thin and tall picture. your gunna look like a very fat small person.

#1, cant upload if its .GIF or .JPG (needs un-capital letters)

#4, make info section, if you click on the image, shows more image(maybe) + info, like location, and chars in lineage servers. Taera better put real info:)
#5, make so, if a person puts a too big pic in, it makes it smaller but uses same dimention for the pic.. so if its 1000x1000, it makes it 100x100 + white space around, makes pics look good.

#8, put comments section up and make me an editor of it

kandy, none of us can garuntee that any pic is real but their own. As for mine, it better look good, seeing as it cost about 200$ to get those shots done.

If you want to get your pic to not be stretech format it to 200x160. Add borders or crop it- be creative :)

btw- there are four girls and two guys I personally don't believe are real, but who am I to say?

Trying to ban by IP is ineffective (can always be gotten around) and often results in banning those you don't want to ban.

If I were you (admins), I'd just ask people to be nice and leave it at that. If you have to, take it down, or leave it up as junk you never wanted it to be. Sorry but that's usually how it goes. It's impossible to just click a button to get rid of every poster you don't like. If they want to enough, they come back. And threatening usually makes them want to come back more.

Just my thoughts.

amer, you should know perfectly well that people can create as many accounts as they want. Because I personally am computer-illiterate (not everyone else is), needing to click a link to activate each account may slow me down, but not by much. Catch-all email addies are nice, aren't they?

It only takes a few seconds, a few minutes at most, to find a single new free HTTP proxy. If one wanted a few hundred or thousand, one could turn on a script to test lists of proxies for speed and wait for a while, and that cuts the time spent searching per proxy by quite a bit.

Being (quite) a bit of an idealist, I prefer that everyone be nice rather than a few people try to catch some other people for being their idea of "naughty."

I guess what I'm trying to say is if I were you, I'd try to keep everyone wanting to be nice, even if I had to swallow my pride or whatever. I'd refrain from putting threats (that aren't threatening) in bold text. The longer you can keep it from being war between you and other people, the longer everyone wins. And trust me, it's impossible to keeps things as they're supposed to be while being fair to everyone--as soon as some people decide that they'd rather break your rules. So don't give them any reason to want to. I speak from experience =\

I must admit that overall, LC keeps a nice atmosphere. I'm talking about everything from the small, noticable but out-of-the-way donations button with a reasonable explanation on another page to the "Thanks!" at the end of the list of posting rules. I, at least, have gotten the impression of honesty, without antagonizing or alienating readers. Please keep it up ^^

Uh oh it's like 3 am and I'm rambling...sorry I'll shut up now! (BTW my lack of tact seems to be inherent, not due to lack of sleep, but I try to keep it under control ;)

Hi guys, ok, like after a year or so of being a LC fan, I finally signed up. Finally gave me a reason to. Like most people, only during certain periods of the year, (Like new episodes) do we have anything good to say about Lineage. Thus I've kept out of the spotlight. My last post

This will be my last post here on these boards, aswell as on Lineage Compendium, so don't force me to make any replies..

I feel that I have been treated unfairly without any reason, but it doesn't matter for you guys if I leave these boards anyway..

The picture thing was a fun idea, so I thought that I would send my pic, but I just had "modeling pics" in the computer and I dont have a scanner or a digital camera (and wont buy any for 500$ just to proove that is me), of course it was a mistake and therefore I hope you will take away my picture, ban me and erase my name from these sites forever..

What I have done wrong is that I look good, thats it, I mean why must you always be so suspicious when a female posts a picture, I mean there are so many good looking females out there..If a male posts a picture no one says that is a false pciture, how good it even may look. It's sad that the society is formed like that and it seems to be even more worse in north american than what it is in Sweden.

So beside the fact that I could have skip to post my pic (which would have been the best, I should have been listening to you Blue, you had right), of course I could have searched on the net for a picture of a "normal" looking girl, but then it wouldnt been me..

Is it so that straight mens feels afraid of good looking womans, or is jealousy or something else ? I dont know what wrong I have done to you guys, therefore I feel sad about this, if I would have done somethign wrong then I could have been understanding this but now..

Then I must say that the reason that I did post the pic was only for fun, as I think many others did, some did just have one pic to post and they did it. I didnt post the pic for dating purpose or some ridiculous like that if you think it was so, I have a bf and im very happy with him..

The whole thing is so absurd, that I must try to proove that the picture I did send is me, I wonder how it will go for you guys if you are so narrow-minded.

I want to thank friends for their support and those few on the forum who did believe me, its time to end this sad chapter..

Um Pillow why do you care if they believe if that is your picture or not? You know who you are and what you look like so who cares when the rest think. If you want to prove that is who you are it would be easy have a friend take a picture with you holding a sign that says Lineage or something but I would not bother. I believe that you put your real picture up. By the way I don�t matter either :-�

Some play virtually 24/7, while others are almost never online. There are those who enjoy being in big castle clans, and those who think no pledge is worth being in.

I'll stop now because I've wasted way too much time already, but really I wonder where you got the impression that there's no diversity among players on Korean servers. Oh, maybe you thought that because over 50% of a group of gamers has dark-colored eyes and hair, they can't be at all different? Just a guess of course.

i put up a fake pic(guy rock climbing lol) thinking i could change it later to my real pic cuz i didnt have one available. wanted to see everyone.. is there a way to update your pic?
