Battle.net is the most innovative concept ever created on the Internet that lasted over a month.

BTW, Diablo was easy to hack because it was/is peer-to-peer not centralized. That has nothing to do with anything, it's the way the game was made.

Why are ppl sick that NC is working with arena.net group?

I dont get it.

Diablo 1 was one of the first action based rpg borrowing concepts from games as board games like dungeons & dragons and role playing games like ff1 into one action rpg game that works.

From there Lineage copies that idea & turn it into mmorpg. Other games also copies it: Everquest, Ragnoroke, Dark age of camelot, Ultima online, Asheron call, Legend of mir, and basically any other mmorpg that was ever created AFTER diablo.

Ideas that Diablo brought were multiple number of players on at once (although it was only like someone said was peer-to-peer vs one central server) but it was still considered mmorpg. Another one was creating the first action game that was more than just hack & slash actions. It had quests & the fantasy part of it makes it an rpg whether it is fantasy of the past, non-existing present, or forth coming future. Its also one of the first rpg that was NOT turn based due to the action element of the game design.

Okay those games might have been developed nicely without borrowing from Diablo but Diablo started them all.

Theperv Diablo isnt considered a massive mulitplayer game. massive means lots of players on the same server at the same time. And diablo having the cap at 8?(god its been too long) and it sure as hell wasnt a keystone in making lineage.
Anyways, in 95 Jake song, the creator of lineage, left his job with Nexon. he was crruently working on Kingdom of the Winds, A graphics mmorpg that launced 1 year before diablo. Actually Shadows of Yserbius in 92 was the first graphical one.

Oh boy how i love history!

They're trying to solidify their hold on the world mmorpg market....and from what I've seen, heading in the right direction. All we need now is for them to be as responsive to the players on Ken and Dep as they are on LoA.....if only NC-Korea would allow NC-Austin more latitude on our servers here.....lol

Think of it this way. When NCsoft owns the who mmorpg market and every game out ther that is from them. You can be like. I remember when they just own lineage. Now that game sucked :p!
