The servers are down because NC Austin has decided it is to easy for characters to hit monsters, So they are going to nerf it so you can only swing after you have been hit.

they are down because they need to adjust the drops so nothing drops more than 12 adena, except bosses who will drop 24 adena!!

They are adjusting Sieges so only princes and princesses can now siege castles, no other charaters are permitted in the areas during siege times!!!

OH GOD! SORRY AGAIN!!!

It is the pot delays, the 2 - 3 second delay was actualy supposed to be 2 - 3 minutes between use!

MY BAD!

That is the correction that NC-Austin is making

The event will not be published to the Test Server until tomorrow, we think. Sorry about that. The reason for the delay is that we are correcting a few things here with the regular publish to the live servers.

This new update string, I hate to say it, IS ONLY ENJOYED BY PEOPLE THAT HATE MAGES! as for those of us who have mages, we are being jerked around. I know that mages aren't melee fighters, or at least aren't supposed to be. but to make elves, prince(ss), and mage classes take more damage is just a bit too much. when you added magic to lineage, I think the idea was to have people play a class that best suits them... well, with the death loss the way it is, and now that the SOM is being nerfed, an all the other "features" of lineage, I do belive that unless people have a lvl 50+ mage already, they are going to either quit lineage all together, or just play as a knight. I KNOW NC LOVES KNIGHTS, BUT PLEASE GIVE THE REST OF THE CHARACTERS A BREAK!!! WE GET NEW SPELLS AND NOW WE WON'T BE ABLE TO SURVIVE AS LONG HUNTING!!! AND MAGES ALREADY GET THE SHORT END OF THE STICK WITH AC AVAILABLE!!! WHAT IS GOING ON?

You guys only know one form of conversation.....complaining. I can't even get excited about an event because when I look in the comments section all I see if people complaining about the same old things. I know you guys are upset about some things, but BOO WHO. GET OVER IT. If Nc made a decision about something I'm sure they had a reason. Trust me, everything they implement, including the things you hate are not just there to HOLD THE MAN DOWN. Theyre there to increase the stability and playability of the game. You may think you know soooo much about the game because you play 24/7, but trust me, I THINK THE PEOPLE WHO DESIGN THE GAME MAY KNOW A LITTLE ABOUT IT AS WELL. Just stop wining, you'll get used to these changes like you get used to all the changes. Just enjoy an event for once in you life. Comment on a good thing about lineage instead of complaining about something you don't like.

you say "trust me" in your comment, who exactly are you again?

Let me explain something to YOU ok! They don't start the NBA playoffs and change the rules for all games going forward. They don't play an American football game on thanksgiving day and say now today every touchdown is only worth 4 points, not 7.

People have been playing this game for years and the changing of the basic concepts and rules nerfs the game, it not only nerfs it, it slowly kills it through the attrition of users leaving.

And as for people complaining. Well deal with it, it is called an open society and the freedom to express opinions. Just as you did.

You also you say that the developers who design the game know a little about it. I don't deny that, neither would any other user of this site. But it is management that sets the rules and requirements. And the biggest change at NC-USA this year has been the addition of new management.

So guess what? The buck stops there, the top of the management chain gets all responsibilty for these mistakes and changes and they must deal with it. So the statement "I'm sure they had a reason" does not gain them any reprieve for being idiots. IBM wishes they never gave the OS to a little company called Microsoft and Coca-Cola should have never came out with New coke. With NCSoft they should have probably rethought there hiring of the management team that is dreaming up these so called 'GREAT IDEAS' to balance the game.

So deal with that.

ok raveen, just so you don't feel "self important", I've tried the updates. Here is what I personally think of them:

the new summon mops are a good change, my skele guards do good damage, and I can HEAL THEM

the cha/6 change is tolerable, but I think that alot of people are going to be dog users due to the tame/summon bonus

the SOM change is INTOLERABLE! they now have a -3 to hit... as mine is +6, I can still hit MOST OF THE TIME. I ACTUALLY MISSED HITTING A SKELE!!! maby a -3 hit is a bit much. Also, it doesn't take as much mp any more... this also upsets me just a bit.

the new bk packs are great! I always enjoyed taking on 12+ bks

the blue pots are a welcome addition

Oh, and Bigpope, I originally meant to post this under the article relating to all this, but people just settling with the new updates for the addition of an event was a bit much for the full extent of what was done.

aupairking, I think you are right. NC wasn't really thinking what would happen by hiring a new management team. I think that this will be the ultimate downfall of lineage. probably the reason everything is going on with lineage 1 is that lineage 2 has been put on hold till the new management is happy with how they changed lineage 1 around.
