LoA updates

The following changes where made to the US LoA server on 12/5:

Changed the Minion spawn times. It should spawn more frequently
Added new armor set (uses existing elven leather helm and elven breastplate). Equipping all components gives: +1 DEX, +5% MR, -2 AC.
Increased the Bless of Elm AC (from 2-3)
Ginseng is added. It works as a potion of haste.
Various merchants buy quest items. (bone chip, lumps of metal, Crooked Staff, Elindaire's Orb, Serpent Scales)
Increased rough mithril drops in Elven Forest.
Increased spawn of creatures in Hidden Valley, including the spawn of a lesser type of basilisk.
Hell punishment time is one minute minimum

Many people compare the new Elven Set to BoE + ECM:
Bless of Elm + Elven Chain Mail = -8 AC, +1 DEX, Elves only
Elven Leather Helm + Elven Breast Plate (Elven Set) = -7 AC, +1 DEX, +5% MR, Elves/Mage only

Well, you LoA players seem to think this server is just as hard as Depardieu and Ken Rauhel, but they keep getting all this stuff that makes it easier. As a matter of fact, besides the one minute minimum for Hell, there wasn't one negative change in that update.

You need 6 furs for leather sandals, 1 bone chip, and 2 metal to make skel boots. Kill wolves or boars for furs, kill Zarrok(something) for bone chip, and dwarves or miner dwarf drops metal fairly regularly even though BlueJean stole mine! There is an NPC to make leather sandals to the far east and near the Goodman, Badman, and Neutralman (whatever) is the NPC to make the boots I think her name is Daphne.

BTW, the Zarrok skel uses call lightning and a he attacks like a skel guard. I killed him with lvl 5 elf using pots, haste pot, and silver arrows so he's not difficult. *IMPORTANT* It works like a quest in which noone else can attack it with you or else chip won't drop!!!

Actually you CAN have other people help you kill Zarrok (whatever). You can also get more than one bone chip so don't get to close to him if you are helping a friend (if you are using ranged attack).

Its not more easy its more fun. I dont play LOA but if i wasnt as strong as i am on ken, i would surely leave it for loa. You cant wear the set and the boe at the same time, If you could who knows i might switch :)

Knights cant wear the set. They cant wear a elh. Also more mr for elfs isnt alwasy good. Most elfs can easily max out their mr the way it is.

#21.....dont start another server fight...and dont talk about vets either. many ppl on here are ppl who quit a long time ago, but didnt want to come back to dep cuz of all the bapho/dks. did you play in .77??unless you did i wouldnt say ur a vet. also, its not 'incredibly easy'.....drops are the same..monsters are the same strength...the only 2 things that make a difference is skel boots and wizard cap......and they only useful until about lvl 30 or so anyways. loa is rlly fun.....not dominated by knights...i'd actually say theres more elves than knights...maybe even mages. my only complaint is no global!!! oh and this is an edit...#21.....what makes you think EVERYTHING is easier on this server? i dont see how any of these updates makes it much easier...

who says elves shouldnt be stronger than knights tweak?
i think elves should be since in fiction theyre are natures children; immortal; wise; etc etc etc: whilst knights are just muscle bound humans that just know swordplay...
knights are strong enough in the Official servers, who cares if they are not so strong in the LoA

BTW the first level 40 was a K-N-I-G-H-T on LoA so i guess they are not weak as you think Tweak

I dont like LOA becuz ti took players away from dep, i like alot of ppl on at once, there was usually 500 ppl on when i played now only liek 200 - 250 :(.

No global is just a rule in LoA. Its stupid cuz global is good for learning stuff and asking questions that you cant find anywhere, plus u get a feel for the economy and dont get screwed when selling stuff. Global chat is the best feature of an online game i have ever seen. I used to play UO and the one thing i wish it would have had was global so i didnt have to use icq so much. I wont play LoA much until they change the chat rule.

Chong, Uo has a global chat. No one uses it though. See that little button labled "chat" on your paper doll? It works! You can set up your own rooms and everything, but no one uses it =/
I miss not being to able to randomly talk to people on global but I think the server is better off without it. Global was the cause of at least 50% of ingame bans. Usually global was just a place to trash talk and spam items. Good ridence I say. The window is just *too* small for everyone to have a conversation.

ok.....i now have 3 things that i dislike about LoA. (dont get me wrong i still luv this server) 1. No global-i've been trying to buy tame monster....but i cant find a town with more than 10ppl!!!2.I can't get tame monster-i've hunted for almost 2 days arach elders+troglodytes(i would hunt dv skels but im mage) 3. staff of sorcery cant hit ppl for some reason...you could whack at someone for 100000000000000 hits, and it wont hit at all.(you have to use enchant weapon spell)

Actually, LoA is just a different feel for the game....doesn't make it better or worse than Ken or Dep...thus, this conversation about this server sucks, this server rules, etc...is as usual, just a bunch of childish bickering.

The game is supposed to be fun for those that play it....if you are having fun on Ken/Dep/Test, great..I'm happy for ya...if you're not, try LoA for a change of pace. It's all in what your particular needs are.

So quit arguing like children, and have some fun dammit!....<grins>

npc hiding in house has quest for som, as for hell well I dont really like it to much. Maybe it would be fine if you got your 30pks went to hell then it subtracts -10 or something but after 30pks your in for life time of hell if you like to pk.

I don't play LOA and treat it as a newbie server because I believe they r adding all this new stuff for new users to get a better sense of the game, as they already claimed that is the purpose of the server
like how they weaken the dragons so a reasonable group can hunt it down

unlike other countries
all 4 servers (if u count test as one of them) r unique in their own ways
play what suits u or play the ones u want occasionally back and forth
all we need.....is more friggin players.....the numbers r so low on all servers...
well...on dep....recently they been back to normal kind of...since FI was finally put in....
glad LOA doesn't have FI...
no need to put it there...

1. i like LoA, for ne of u said it easy come play and u'll see, true that gems like rubies, emerals and shapphires drop more but u can onlie sell it at 1/10 the price on other server.

Silly people LoA is no more a newbie server then ken. Funny I remember this same fight comming up when they add ken to the list.
LoA is made for few people in multi-time zones. Hence the Dragon's being killable by a small number of people. LoA is not a warm up server any more the ken is a warm up to dep. They are all based on the same game and changed a bit to add content.

I predict that dep will die very soon and all will move to LoA. Ken people will probably stay where they are due to the LoA being a PK server. To any avail all 4 server's are "real" server's. Hell if I got a copy of the server software and started my own server that mirrored dep rules would that be a fake server ? Its still the same game. Although people would be having fun playing doesn't stop the fact that its still lineage.

notice how additions to LOA r basically for newbies

this is what u guys wanted

they most likely aren't gonna do anything for higher lvl players

I don't think they intend for large amounts of high lvl players
so they don't bother putting FI in the server

but they would never get rid of any server

LOA can't have it all
considering the server is still new and active
everyone is racing for strong characters so they can hog the bosses and get the best drops in the game and make the strongest weapons/armours so they can send everyone they hate, to hell
give it a month or two....watch knights all of a sudden take over once again...
then of course....all the ppl who play on LOA will complain and complain until NCI nerfs the knight somehow on the server as the "ppl" want it...

hmmm if i recall correctly, this server is more responsive to player's suggestions, that means that if there are no high-level players (everybody but that lvl 40 one) there won't be high-level suggestions, just the newbie ones everybody is playing. As people get higher level chars and suggest things to change/improve, i suppose the support staff will release the changes for high levels they have thought beforehand.

It's a baby yet, give it some time to grow ;)

If Elven Breast Plate -4ac 150 weight is now usable by Mages you have ME to thank for that. I pestered NCSoft by Email for months about this idea when they introduced the +50mp Mage Set long ago. I argued that Mages need more -AC options (long before soft AC) and how making the Elven Breast plate is good for Mages who could safely zel it up to +6, and with it's reasonable weight penalty, this would be a good and balanced item change. Now they took it one step further and made it a Set item with Elven Leather Helm(Mask) is even better!
It's about time NCSoft started listening to it's own customers for a change.
I'd still do boe&ecm on my elf, but for any mage elh&ebp will rule!

i love the new set...since its easier to get the required parts for it, it will be zelled more often probably making up for the 1 ac difference.

And any of you high levels that are just calling it a newbie server, my guess is you just dont like the thought of having to switch servers. LoA in my opinion is much better than dep, mages even have enough extras to appear appealing to me now. Im still pretty positive knights will rule again, but it seems NC is at least on the right track to evening out the classes with this server.

#63 is a genious!! (seriously) The servers are about "content". If LoA was a pk server why not just play Dep and if not then why not play Ken? If you wanted mad drops then why not play Test? Come on guys... LoA has to be a balance or else *Nobody* will play there. Which means NC is listening and they care about the players, new and old.

#71 I so much agree with you. Knights will rule again once they get their AC/Weap up but until then they are as handicapped as everyone else.

Just cause new players can start off with fancier tools to help them level doesn't make the server lame.. Think!! Who the hell would want to go through the frustrations and aggravations of the early days of Dep/Ken? I was there and I'll be damned if I leave the old server where it took me almost 2 years to get to the point where I can hunt without the fear of dying for LoA just to relive the same experience. NC knows no one will do that. If you want a challenge then delete your characters with all that uber equipment you have and start on the old server with nothing and see just how much fun it is for new players!!

The Global system became almost useless with the constant gibberish and unfortunately NC couldn't come up with an alternative way of exchanging information without it being abused. Global was useful for selling/buying but messaging about boss spawns and bugging monitors was possibly the reason why it was dismissed.

The LoA server however is going to eventually have those "Godlike" characters from boss/dragon pledge or party hunting just like the old days of Ken's infamous BattleAnts. Who will be the first Lielac, Tornado, or BlueJean (Ken server) in LoA. Speaking of infamous characters I have run into BlueJean and I have seen PROFESSIONAL as well on the LoA server. I asked BlueJean why'd he come back and he said "To have fun." Makes sense to me because I'm having more fun since everyone is on the same levels.

60+ "knight owns" servers vs 1 "non-knight owns" server

it's not that great, but at least nc-austin is trying to make a much more balance trend for gameplay...

all other things are nice...
and i was thinking of what should i do with all the ebp around in dep...
now nc gives an idea for all those junk items to be useful again

I think LOA came at a great time.. there was too much racial seige tension on ken. Maybe we can finally have pledge seige as individual pledges again.. rather then huge groups who only come out in number of 60 or better... THats just plain out boring war......Enjoy LOA it was a smart move by nc to make lineage more enjoyable again.
