More on Forgotten Island

Lineage Playforum gave a small update (http://community.playforum.net:8080/bbs/prog/column?action=read&iid=10051004&kid=2524) on some interesting things about Forgotten Island on the Korean Test server.

They say that despite the recent update, they haven't noticed a change in the strength of the monsters. Also, Dark Elf has been on FI for some time now, and it is a big nuisance. Level 47 knight, -62 AC can receive about 50-100 HP damage per arrow from one of them.

The most popular hunting party in Forgotten Island is one knight and two elves. The elves sit on a cliff and the knight brings the group a single monster, which they kill together.

Underwater Boots and two rings we have never heard of (and don't understand the names of) are not a rare drop from the island. Also, if you bring enough braves and greens with you, it is possible to hunt the Forgotten Island with the potion drops you receive. The monsters of Forgotten Island seem to give about triple the experience of the regular monsters. (That would mean that the Forgotten Island monsters are about 1.7 times the level of normal monsters)

A knight with a +9 Tsurugi and -70 AC requires about 50 clears to 1:1 the Forgotten Island Drake.

wow........ drake on steroids! those dark elves are gonna be real killers for us man lol... hmmmm.... 2 knights and 3 elves and 1 mage would prolly do pretty nicely also... especially if all 3 elves are water or 2 water and 1 earth or something... hmm.... welp guessing by how long this gonna take to hit live my elf will be a decent distance into lvl 49 ^_^

if a Level 47 knight, with -62 AC is taking 50-100 HP damage per arrow from a de, i shudder to think what the rest of the classes will take. this whole soft ac thing is really a pain, and one of the reasons i might move on like so many others. i really wonder what they must be smoking at nc, a lot of these changes haved reduced our player base, and that must be painfully obvious to them, right? right? come on nc look at the #'s, what would you rather have? a "balanced" (i use the term loosely) game with 30 paying customers, or a server full of happy pepople? make the right descion, and stop messing with the gameplay!!!!!!

yeah but that means elves should take the same damage and... considering its a forgotten island dark elf, its accuracy is prolly gonna be like 95% even on knight's ER, so... hehe..

I don't see why this is so bad - it forces you people to WORK TOGETHER. The game Dark Ages, or the version I played, Legends forces people to work together in order to be able to succeed. NO one can solo their way up to level 99. The key is to gather a good hunting group, with people you can trust. While the drops in Lineage tend to work differently, going directly to the player instead of dropping on the ground (No one else but the party that killed the mop can pick up the items for several seconds.) and allowing party members to share the drops evenly.

Attempting to solo FI would be one of the dumbest things to do in Lineage. :P

soloing isnt dumb..just because u cant doesnt mean its dumb..-.-;i dont see poseidon need party to hunt with him....why the hell he gets such a high lev...and i dont think someone one will share a rotc with with the party member unless ur RL friend...and i dont think most of the ppl trust neone over the world that u dont kno in RL..well..only on general...only some idiots trust ppl over the net...

Actually Dex elves from lvl 32 have better ER than (con/str) knights with dex spell and BOE.

Con/Str Knight (12 dex) starts with 2 ER and gains every 4 lvls at 48 ER = 14

Dex elf (18 dex) starts with 5 ER and gains every 6 lvls. lvl 48 base ER = 13

With dex spell and Boe elf ER jumps to 16.

Now if you also added a dex ammy and a Dex bow a lvl 48 elf could have 17 ER. I noticed this the other day while looking thru the lvl 50 hall of fame and saw that professionals ER was the same as my lvl 47 elves with dex spell.

P.S. Don't worry knights this really doesn't make a difference anymore because the soft ac has pretty much screwed us out of any benefit we could of gotten from it.

Swarez, if a Knight had 18 Dex too, he would have well over what an 18 Dex Elf has. So Amer is right.

I also think it would only make sense that monsters that damage swords should be immune to arrows. Of course Elves will whine and whine to me about why this shouldn't be, but it's a fact that an arrow won't do anything to a boulder. (Stone Golem)

hehe...FI is kinda a stupid idea...If enemies only give 3x the amount of exp, isn't it much easier to just go kill 3 of the enemy in question?

Vail heres something u left out, sure ur swords are damaged, but u can still kill the golems right? If anything all u can do is say the damage on arrows will be reduced when it hits golems. Otherwise if a mithril arrow does nothing to a golem with the force it hits at, then ever single sword u guys have should do nothing either, hey, according to you the only effective weapon against a golem is some sort of mace or magic.

Notice i pointed out con/str knights. The top Dex a fresh knight can have is 16, dex starts at 12 and you have 4 points you can add. And can anyone point out a lvl 48+ dex knight, because i have never met one in the year i have played lineage.
