Episode 13 Class: Dark Elf?

Cross-X emailed us to say that Nue seems to have discovered the identity of the mystery new class for Episode 13. A file "darkelf-k.tbl" was seen on the Korean Test server. As it was explained to me, the ".tbl" files are usually used in the character creation process (there is elf-?.tbl, prince-?.tbl and even an engineer-?.tbl from back in beta when Engineer and Thief were potential classes).

This new darkelf-k.tbl (which is in Korean) doesn't say anything interesting about the Dark Elf except a small history lesson of their origin. If you can read Korean, the text is on the right.

update: Just wanted to clarify some confusion, when we say "it doesn't say anything interesting about Dark Elf" we mean that it literally doesn't mention anything at all about Dark Elves. It could be about any class and it could be just some trash which accidentally got put on the server. Please don't assume that this is anything but a file that was found in the text.pak. It could just be junk.

last update:lol, Jailrune points out that it's complete trash. The first paragraph is from the Korean National Charter on Education. Cute that they would name it darkelf-k.tbl. :)

I wonder what the difference would be b/w the elves and the d-elves........It doesn't seem to be much of a difference to me except the skin color(or whatever). And what about the lvl 52+ DE morph???!!!

dark elf.....what there already is a elf class. What more can their be different with a dark elf class....hmmm both will use bows (maybe) ugg just gotta wait and see i guess

hopefully this class will focus more on magic, with melee/bow ability as a second option
the darkelf should have a wider range of magical spells (elemental magics) and maybe of the lvl 1-6 human spells, the chaotic spells will be more effective since they are dark elves

well, dark elf could possibly be a rogue type class, its one of their favored d&d classes, but probably not. Maybe we'll get lucky and they'll be able to have two weapons when fighting, and give up sheild in melee. Or 3rd possibility, just a little weaker mage with a bit stronger bow.. ah, who knows. Nc.

Well if you look on it, Dark Elves are known rogues, so are they going to have the stats/hard ac, to be a knight or a mage, or possibly a reason to add 4 chars instead of 3!!! i have 3 lvl 45+ NC!!!!!! Help me, and i dont want 2 accounts...

Actually they said that they were sticking with 2D lineage a while back... I think they will keep making small improvements like what they did with TI...

We will probably see this over the summer.

What if this might be a 'challenge' class? The morph dark elf has the fastest bow speed, so why wouldn't it make sense this is a pure bow user class? Perhaps they will not have elven magics, to offset this balance? Or what about the name DARK Elf? Perhaps its a permenant chaotic class ^_^, but superior to the others? Just imagine the pain of being permenantly chaotic, dropping things on death, and every mop on the screen attacking you!

For those complaining wanting more character slots, is 12 not enough? Thats right, you get 3 per server, but there are 4 serves (Dep, Ken, LOA, and Test). Don't want to delete your char, go try out the new character on a different server. NC doesn't need to give us all 5 slots, so we can have each class, its nice enough we got 3 per server.

Actaully i think its cool that the dark elf is going to be introduced..u never know they might have a whole diffrent look thne from waht the normal dark elf looks or they might even change the dark elfs name int something else like ^.^ if nc keeps going hte way it is they will have one of there customers back! ahaha new class is soooo cool!

SayAnthing, the file name was darkelf-k.tbl, that's why we think it's dark elf. The description is weird, it doesn't really say anything useful.

Take down this article. That file doesn't mean anything and it appears that someone from NC development team put his/her own weired joke in the game or something.

That description is actually part of "Korean Education Constitution" and got nothing to do with the game. What is this a joke?

I am not really interested in another magic user or bow using class. I would rather see something really different, like the engineer or thief. That seems like it would fill out the roster of classes better and give something more for people to play with. To me, a Dark elf class isn't going to cut it. Hopefully, the file is just junk.
