Sayha's Bow

A few Sayha's Bow have been dropping on the US Test server from monsters. Two people so far (Toy and MIK3) have gotten them and Coleeco says that they got them from Fire Archer.

Don't get too alarmed though, Melantus said it was just a test on the Lineage forums: "Bow of Sayha NPC (Talass in Ivory Tower) has been added, as well as the bow dropping from various monsters. This will allow for testing purposes, so that players can get the bow and test it before we publish.

The bow dropping in this special way is not permanent and is not the way it will be on Dep and Ken, or LoA. The quest NPC is how the bow will be obtained."

It wont come to the us live servers. If you read wat amer put. Its droping from fire archers so that people on test can "test" it. The people on test must be sad though the ones collecting white scales. they can still make a dsm with it i guess :)

Skada on ken certainly has everything... prolly someone else is close as well

If it's makeable via NPC, that's a good sign... tho it might be just because then they get a couple straight away rather than having to wait for FA to drop :p

I wonder if the people making these bows on the live server will be brave enough to overenchant them?

A +7 sayhas bow hits the same as a +8 yumi it just has 1 more + to hit.
It's also inferior to a +9x-bow which does the same damage and has +2 more to hit. I'm sure i can get a +9x-bow for less than even the dragon scales that go into sayhas bow.. not to mention the other pieces.

Anyways, good luck to the people making to bows.. May they enchant to +8 and beyond with no problems for you ^^.

That is the truth. Ancient Crossbow is the way most will want to go. It is awful trying to get a good ac w/ out a shield and using the yami. Hope they get these ancient artifacts working soon.
And when will the archers get some deceint morphs. I mean, how long do we have to play orcie. It is but ugly and there are the fire archers and the Skele Marksmen, I mean, everyone else gets multiple morphs, why is it just the archers that get so few?!?

hehe, orc archers are perfectly fine! They're fast and who cares if they're oogly?

For the bow this is very cool; I wonder if it has the special magic arrow animation in yet?

but....most ppl'll stick with yumi for now til someone's gutsy enough to over-dai the sayha's bow to +9 or something o.o

Hi! I think Sayha's bow is really cool - but can someone please tell me what Hit Bonus and Damage Bonus is? What the difference is? I cannot seem to find a detailed explanation as to what the difference between the two is. Thanks!

you would find this by opening your eyes and directing them to the "description" in the picture at the top of the page.

Serriously plp, don't ask questions when the answer is right infront of you, it reminds my of newbies of chat boards for games askin the same old stuff thats in the FAQ.

Hit bonus is how often you hit, Damage Bonus is how much extra damage you inflict :)

and as we all know...
the bow has some minor problems with graphics...
so they want to make sure it doesn't screw up when ppl r actually use it....

The Shayas bow at +6 is better than a +9 Yumi I can assure you, I have done multiple tests. A level 27 Dex Elf can do 20 Damage to a knight with -60ac without arrows. With mithril arrows I do about 25-27 damage. I don't think I could even hit the knight with a Yumi. Besides, look at the stats on this bow! Hit bonus +2 and damage bonus +4. And if you have a b-dai it is not impossible to overdai it, infact I have many elf friends who now have +8 Shaya's Bows! Boy do they hurt...

The unannounced Sayha's Bow event on Test only lasted a few hours yesterday. By the time I got home from work and logged on I was told that the GM had already ended it. I tested this by killing lots of Fire Archers, one of the mops that had been dropping the bow, and I got 12 Hunter's bows but no Sayha's. Rats. It would have been much fairer to at least let it run 12 hours so everyone could get a shot. Oh well, back to LoA.

Added note: I guess NC just needed to have a few in play to test the mechanics and make sure the previous bug was gone before Sayha's Bow goes to live servers. It makes the bows that did drop incredibly expensive. There may be another test Wipe once FI goes to live servers, if they don't want to have those bows kicking around. Folks on live servers will have to make their sayha's Bows the hard way, unless the dragons drop them. The bow is nice, but not as good as the ancient crossbow and not worth the incredible cost in materials.
