Lineage Tournament

Lineage Tournamnet (LiTo for short) has recently (within the past month) become a new service offered by NC to the Lineage services in Korea.

LiTo allows players from all Lineage servers to play together in a variety of matches and maps with no experience loss and no penalties which are normally associated with combat in the original Lineage service. Players bring their existing characters in and have an allowance to purchase supplies for each match. Players also get a rating and are ranked against a variety of criteria.

NC - US has hinted that maybe LiTo would come the the US someday soon, so we put these pages together based on our translations on the Korean LiTo service and we hope it will help in encouraging the US players to be informed about LiTo, provide a background for any future LiTo news we might post, as well as generate some interest for people who didn't know. ^^

I like the idea for Fatality, where stepping on a tile casts a random spell on u
Terrible Quest, even minotaur boss is there

I really hope this comes to US
this will give lineage another reason to play plus u don't u lose exp (assuming there is no drops, exp, and law penalties it in otherwise it would suck)

come to US dammit!

It would be cooler if you just used chars equiped with what they have already, and didn't allow trading/dropping/giving etc.. I'd love to see how well I can duel against my friend who is on a diff server.. Or maybe we can just "buy" the exact same items we have now. Either way, it looks pretty crazy.

That's a tip for one map! Hmm.... maybe on Korea servers were 99% is knight, but if you get a mage to cancel u 2 times hehe! You're slow o.o

Sounds like great fun... but if test players come in and drop their items, and normal players pick them up... could be a bit unbalanced. Or is it a player clone from the servers that doesn't go back?

um... winning ratio doesn't affect much on your rating...

Schwartz. You can't give/drop your item. so if you're out of arrows, you can't replenish it during a match. Of course once a match is over, it will come back.

McLeans. "Don't buy more than two greens and braves here" that is, of ourse, when you're fighting w/o mg. And even if you're agreed to use mg, it's not wise to cancel, cancel, cancel and cancel, because you'll be done with our mg before the other does. Let me also remind you that there is no blank scrolls in LITO...

Lastly, a summoned monster will do full damage on LITO.

omg look at the 2nd quest battle map!
holy crap you gotta kill AQ, AG, bone dragons, lesser demon thats freakin crazy

these maps are very pretty, why cant the rest of the game be pretty?

the ctf thing sounds like alot of fun, hopefully this will come to the US servers

then we can finally see whether dep or ken is better^^

There's a whole lot more maps than that. Like "Square" and "Temple" for deathmatch to start with.

Everyone is given 20,000 adena and can buy:
Reds (40a)
Oranges (200a)
Clears (600a)
Greens (200a)
Braves (800a)
Ebony (5,000a)
Wafer (er forget.. 1k?)
Mgem (600a)
Sgem (forget, i never used..)
SOSC (1,300a)

There might be more, but I don't remember any. You get the basic idea. If you buy something that you decide before the match starts you don't want, you can sell back for full price and buy something else.

When you log into your character, you only have equippable items remaining in your inv (exception is arrows). Things like ROTC ROPC and COI are not usable (and therefore nonexistent) in LiTo.

As for the "Terrible Quest," I've never seen anyone get to the last stage. I've tried several times with all dk (from 55 to 65) with teams stacked (29 vs 1). Neither team reached the last stage.

And McLeans:
If mgems are fair play for your game, then no one uses cancel. Its all C:P/Freeze.

People were speculating (wildly) when they guessed that someone made 500m off of a "bug." The people who were actually doing this claim that not even 500k was made.

Edit:
Forge, lesser demon is about as hard to battle as tauverus. The bone dragon's magic does do about 300 dmg though (and its hard to stay alive when 40 spawn at once, 3 right next to you).

do you get 20k for every match? and can u carry items over from matches? cuz otherwise ur never gonna get a full load of pots and such, unless other people give you their pots

It's only good if ppl are stupid enough to bring only 3 haste n brave...

Every match, all your supplies are gone. Else you might have a friend battle you to lose while you keep all your pots eh?

For the "Honor" matches, you get resurrected near your relic instead of where you are. At least, that's how it's been for me -- maybe they changed it last week.

Heh heh... average players (on Kelloss server) at 3 pm dropped from ~3k to ~1.5k, and at 3 am from ~1.5k to ~1k. But the numbers went back up after about 5 days.

IF you bring 3 braves and 3 haste a mage can cancel you 3 times and you're slow as hell...
But ofcourse u bring a lot more so this won't happen... then paralyze would be a better spell to use for mages.

McLeans - LiTo is not like siege. The strategies you use in siege are not the same as you would use in LiTo. The reason Jailrune says that cancel is not a useful spell in LiTo is because he has played and he knows that death doesn't matter. If you die, you just come back at full strength. Mages use Curse: Paralyze and Freeze *instead of* Cancel because if you get frozen, you are stuck for about 2 minutes, while if you are Cancelled, you are still in the game and if you die, you come back in seconds.

This means that Paralyze and Freeze are about 20 times better than Cancel for less magic gems. Therefore, no one bothers to Cancel *and* no one needs to bring more than a few braves/haste. Hope that clears it up.

Cancel is actually pretty useful in matches where they allow mgems. SOSC is relatively expensive, and DK characters without poly are just a bit stronger than non-dk. Useful for both Honor and DM games.

However, most games are titled "NO MGEM! - [DM/Honor]" (in korean)
If someone is caught using mgem (some make an exception for summon monster) the room creator usually kicks him for the next games. With such a small player pool for US servers, those who use mgems in no-mgem games will get bad reputations and will probably not be able to play many games -- not to mention the possibility of having angered players hunt them on live servers.
