DREAMWORKS reaches 52 and has a fun toy..

This week, DREAMWORKS reached level 52 (again, after a delevel). He's the 14th Dep player to reach level 52. He had some pretty amazing items if you recall from our last visit with him: http://www.lineagecompendium.com/addcomment.php?newsid=570

However, hold on to your hat.

+5 is expected from Dragon Scale Mail. +6 is risky! But +7?!

Now here's the most interesting part. DREAMWORKS made this item by using a b-zel at +3 to get it to +5. He then used *another bzel* and it went from +5 to +7. What is curious about this is that Melantus told us that bzel does not give you +2 when you use it past safe. DREAMWORKS pointed out that he has noticed that bdai doesn't give you +2 past safe, but for some reason bzel does work.

Hopefully we can get a response from NC on what is going on here. :)

Bzel can go +2 or more on over-zeled item, and i know some ppl whose bzel went +2 when used on +5 non elven items, however, Bdai can't go more than +1 after safe enchant.
Mel never mentioned about bzel. It was B-DAI but not B-zel.
So Mel didn't make any mistake on that.

Yes, Mel said blessed enchants wont go +2 past safe enchant, 'safe' enchant being +6. So bzel on +6,7,8 armor is useless.

b-dai can get a +2 or +3 on an item that is over safe enchant.. +7 weapon will very very rarely reach +9 with bdai.. I think the mistake is that the very rare enchants were not included in the description of how an item enchants.. (In addition, people have made +2 and +3 bone armor by using 1 bzel.. this clearly shows that the increase is greater than 1 for enchanting above safe limits)

At or above +5 the chance to get a +3 enchant is nearly 0.
At or above +8 the chance to get a +2 enchant is nearly 0 - i am not aware of any cases of success of a +8 item to +10 on any usa server.

In any case, the useage of a b-enchant will increase the probability of some kind of success.. The success may be +1, +2, +3, or in the case of a +9 item the fact that the item did not blow up!

+6 is the limit for b-zels and b-dai's (to go +2-3). Whether it is the 'safe' limit on armours or not.

IT works like this.. Most items have a +4 safe enchant limit and some +6. However the "Blessed" enchant limit is -Always- 6. Meaning, If you use a B scroll on a +6 item it will never go +2-3. at least thats how armor works, not sure about weapons.. It might be +7 for weapons

B-zel doesnt go +2 if your item is +7 or above It doesnt go +3 unless your item is less then +3

B-zel is still useful at +5, but after +6 its useless, Plus wut some people dont know is Dsm is lucky, has pretty good odds of getting the unexpected +

The safe limit is the max zel limit for *any* item including swords, which is +6. I made 3 pairs of +5->[bzel +2]=+7 pg's that way :).
You might be able to do it on +6 items, but I've never tried.

dreamworks is a stock broker living in japan.
last time (which was about 6 months ago) i heard him saying how he made 100 grand(USD) in the trade he made. hm.. he doesnt get items from gm. but hmm. he does get it from other players.. did i mention he's rich? $_$
